The OP is even generous with his analysis. Saving money consistently is not easy. Not everyone can save. I like his analysis and he knows what he is saying. That's why few people have been able to dispute him.

Actually, it's from hearsay. I have no real facts about their salary scale.

I am surprised they pay stipends because they are a reputable estate valuer approved by banks and government.

Wow! You seem to be well prepared with your facts. Which is what I want to read than mere hearsay. A standard duplex in a good location plus the cost of land will take more than $100,000( 35 million Naira) in Lagos to build or buy.

I heard Jide Taiwo & Co pay their estate valuers salary of 200,000 Naira Monthly. They are popular estate valuer in Nigeria.

I had thought that love has bigger roles to play in marriage. I was wrong. I got married at 36 when I thought I had seen someone who loved me.

While dating, I was not spending money on her because she has a job and was not complaining. I ride okada for a living hoping to go into a business soon. Before marriage, I use to have spare cash of about 10k always. Even if that 10k is spent on something, I would recover it within a week. She told me that if money she spends on feeding and what I spend on feeding are added together, we would feed ourselves and save more. I would have informed her first, but she was busy attending to visitors and her phone was with me. She was angry and said "I will change my password." I replied that the only favor she did me was saving my journey to the bank. She said if she has cash in hand, she would be tempted to spend it. So, it's me that should not have savings?

I don't feel like having sex again because of the depression and she is now angry that I'm turning her down. Now I'm planning to leave home and return whenever my situation improves. She can cope because she has enough money.

Why the financial pressure on me is too much is that we are both 36 years old and friends keep trouping to our house to wish her well. As a man that manages resources, I entertained guests from my family once for the past two months we got married because it's not my town but hers. She keeps asking me for money to entertain guests. Some friends made it a habit of visiting twice weekly, while she keeps showing me off. When she asked for money for food yesterday and I told her I had no money, she has been moody since then, thinking that I'm hiding money from her.

This was a woman, that, last week, when I said I couldn't afford a particular asoebi that only concerns me because it's costly, went to the market, bought it, and took it to my tailor. Judging from her recent actions, I won't wear that cloth except I'm able to refund the money.

Why did you marry a 36 years old woman as your wife. Don't you know she has bad attitude? That's the reason she was married very late. You should have investigated thoroughly about her character before marrying her. Marrying any single ladies above 30 years is disaster. Because most of them are desperate and pretentious.

Ask your account officer at your bank the question. He/She will show you thousands of their customers bearing same complete names as yours. Nothing special about it.

Good morning to all Nairalander.
I'm a 25 years old guy with one daughter, duo I'm yet to be legally married but me and my soon to be wife and my daughter are living well and very happy. I have my own house and living well, I work as a security guard in a company but the pay is cool I can boldly compare my salary to a police Sargent salary, our department have a cooperative society where we can get a loan up to the amount of 500k which I took a loan, added some of my savings and open a store (chemist store) for the mother of my daughter my soon to be wife.
My problem now is this:- I can't stop helping people that comes my way even when I'm broke and have no money with me, few days ago I borrowed money from someone just to help a guy who admitted his kid in a hospital. Sometimes I even end up giving out my last cash, I can't see someone around me that's in need without me helping even if I have to borrow just to assist him or her.
I'm posting this cos when I'm in need no one is available to help or assist me, there's was a time I got myself involved in some stuff and needed money to pay off some debts no one helped me, everyone turned me down that I have to sell my iPhone 7plus 190k, that's a phone I bought 320k. Please I need your advice on how to turn down some people, I can't keep living this way, pleasing others just to displease myself, my wife have complained several times but I find it difficult to change.

Hey Young man, don't you think you are spending above your means? How much is your salary as a security officer in a private company that you are buying a phone of 320,000 Naira? Isn't that extravagant lifestyle? The 320k could have been invested in self development or a business.

I have often wonder between manufacturing industries or services industries, which is more important to Nigeria's economy? I noticed that manufacturing industries get a lot of attention and support from government of any country compared to services industries.

Most government try to give protection and incentives to the manufacturing industries of their countries. Some even use protection of local manufacturing industries in their election campaign like Donald Trump.

Whereas services industries such as Transportation, Information Technology, Medical services,, Education, Consulting, etc is not considered worthwhile compared to manufacturing industries in most countries of the world .
What do you think is the reason?
