Why would any Nigerian go to Burundi? What useless opportunities in Burundi are you talking about? A country with per capita GDP of 285 dollars and ranked among the top five poorest countries in the world. It will be hard to become a millionaire in such country because the citizens are just too poor to afford basic necessities of life.

Mining of mineral resources is not that profitable. But processing of it, it's profitable. Now the question is do we have the technology and skills to process our mineral resources into finished product? Do we have the huge capital to invest into the sector? I hope you know that Ajaokuta steel in Kogi state will consume billions of dollars to resurrect it yet there is no guarantee of its sustainability and profitability.

The fact is many countries of the world are blessed with various mineral resources. So supply is more than demand. That's why Congo is among the poorest countries in the world with its huge mineral resources.

The northern Nigeria is the major reason why Nigeria will never become a developed country. If Nigeria was to break up, Northern Nigeria will be so poor as their neighbouring countries such as Mali, Niger Republic, Chad etc.
