Unfortunately Yakubu Gowon who was the president who had the power to have let this country split fought bitterly to keep it one, now his kins men are suffering for actions. Dimka and Orkar tried to get back power and may be would have done away with the anomaly but it wasn't to be. Now that this chance is rearing It's head it would be a grave mistake to not to end this unholy union. |
@OP, if the middle belt was the glue that held Nigeria together, then it is becoming the scissors that will be used to tear it apart. I wish |
Now we'll await the reprisals against the hausas and on and on. |
The same military that is on standby at jos i presume. |
And ladies and gentlemen that is how civil wars are born. People now start forming militias to protect their people and soon those militias become armies and rebel and before you know it the Red cross is setting up camps for civilians. Brace Up. |
It is sad news but it i look forward to what it will result in. Tell me why i must remain room mates with a person i abhor from the pits of my stomach ? |
@tru2god, Truth is the middle has to do this fight on It's own. While other regions may empathize with our situation only the middle belt can effectively do this battle. |
Whoever started it whether hausa or christian is immaterial , the big picture shows that Nigeria is no longer practical and dissolution of federation is of utmost importance. NIGERIA AS WE KNOW IT MUST END ! ! |
The chief of Army staff was busy deploying troops to guard Yaradua's corpse when their number was needed elsewhere. Anyways this thing had already been fortold by the US so this should come as no surprise to anyone, Nigeria the country is ending. |
The entity known as Nigeria is ending, It's unfortunate that innocent lives have to trigger the process but it must come about one way or the other. |
^ Did you just say he should take a break ? Have you looked around surroundings recently ? Do you know how calm the shore is before a Tsunami ? If don't understand what He's saying you'll receive a rude awakening not too far from now. If you don't know What's happening better know that we've already slid past the precipice and are in need of a miracle to avoid cataclysmic disaster. |
^ @nduchuks do i need to say more ? While There's corruption everywhere no where is it committed to brazenly evil by the leaders than up north. Some of the states in question are by far worse than Burundi but all the leadership does is continually exploit there hoards of illiterates who think they're living by to" allah's" will |
@ chuks You see the problem is, in the predictions and forecast of many the nomenclature known as "Nigerian" will soon be gone with the wind. So when the entity known as Nigerians ceases to exist are you telling me you'll still be Nigerian ? Are there still any Yugoslavians as we speak ? |
Please what is the record for consecutive wins in the EPL ? |
Terry better retire from football ASAP, if he ventures come into SA in May we won't be held responsible for anything that happens to his English knee cap. |
Nduchuks the honourable is from Edo state, i'm from kaduna state, please where are you from ? |
@ ndchuks Thank heavens one of you is around. TY Danjuma is the devil responsible the death of Ironsi as OP claims, but guess what ? The dinosaur is staunchly behind Jonathan and though i'm suspicious of his motives i know when push comes to shove the hausa happy hour is over. Even traitors/ignoramuses like him who benefitted from the looting of the old arrangement are beginning to wake up to reality of the times. |
Even if Nigeria were to remain one the best option would be something akin to the UK but with more autonomy to the various states. |
All these ghosts from the past. They had their chance to end the impending madness but they failed, now It's time for a new batch of warriors to arise and finish what could not be corrected at first try. Many of these guys were younger than many people right now on NL so i don't think There's a problem of immaturity in this matter. We're all old enough to chart a new course while making reference to the mistakes of these guys so it doesn't repeat itself. |
Everything is falling into place now, I couldn't have dreamt of a better scenerio for the so called giant of Africa. All that's left is for every one to ask why are we together in the first place ? After that a better charter could be drafted and signed by all leaving no stone unturned. |
@ 006, if oil can't do much how come Yaradua's men and before that Obasanjo's men keep struggling to hold on to the top positions ? |
@tpiah i was just going to say the exact opposite of what you just posted, what a coincidence . |
What is wrong with Bendtner ? jesus ! |
biina:Iko from southern kaduna is middle belt to be specific. When Obasanjo had Air marshal Wuyep(plateau state) as chief of Airstaff, Agwai as Army and i think Adekeye from Kwara as navy chief, all of them from the middle belt, the hausa people were still crying marginalisation in the military. so is it now that Iko who is from the same LG as Martin Luter Agwai has suddenly become a northerner ? |
True Suffer head full every where, but some seem to be very comfortable living in it. |
^ Tell who what bitter truth ? What north are you referring to ? |
This is sure a big miss cue on his part. How can uncertain political future not affect a countries economy ? Even the USA isn't that strong. |
If the NNPC was privatised and people taken in only by merit after exams and interview, i wonder what the make up would be like ? |
@nurexg, please before i start i'd like you to verify who you mean by "north" when you say the north. |
Arsenal's winning streak is making me become cocky. I just don't only want to win the league but win it by setting a record of consecutive victories in the EPL. |
If we scrapped state govts and may be practise governance directly with local councils we could eradicate some of these problems. |
