You don't come to Africa cos you can't afford the airfare, which unfortunately was the reason so many of my AA brothers and sisters died in Katrina. The whites flew out but left the poor souls who couldn't before bus fare to face the hurricane. |
Firstly i'm not talking about the igbos, i expect anyone to reading to know that was just an illustration. What about people of other ethnic nationalities resident in a state ? Politics in govt in itself is alien to Africa, we learnt it from somewhere and the people we learnt it from have taken the course i speak of. That's why the offspring of a Kenyan man can be president in another continent, something that's next to impossible in Nigeria. The worthless politicians we have only know how to cause division and make their people blame their poverty and illiteracy on other people with a tinge of religious incitement, a tool we continually being used year after year. |
Is there any state in Nigeria that does not have a significant number of people from other parts of the country ? Do i have to go to all 36 states to determine the ethnic make up of each state ? Well this morning a thread carried info on plateau state having as much as 300,000 ibos resident in it(almost 10% of the state's population), imagine how many states have people of other ethnic groups at such numbers. |
Mr mandigo, they're your down low buddies. |
Like it or not, Obj got clout. . May be Abdulsalam Abubakar too, he seems to be favourite with the UN, |
Obj doesn't top my list. He may be influential in Africa though. 1. Okonjo Iweala 2. Soyinka 3. Anyaoku 4. ObJ 5. . . . |
Well atleast we know why There're so many AAs in American prisons. |
Haha, tpia i can see you're trying to lure me into one of those encounters with your friends. Please Let's not even go there. |
@tpia i suspect the person in question frequents NL with other usernames, could it be those usually ending with the number 9 ? |
Tpia please share any relevant info to meaning to this meaninglessness |
It's good you understand my question. There're are more effective effective paradigms for us to follow but we ignore them. Why can't a business man who migrates from another part of a country to grow a business worth billions somewhere else be allowed to partake in deciding the course of a state He's also benefitting from ? |
You guys shouldn't blame the OP abeg. Many of these guys wished they had something to be proud of when encountering a racist who tells you to, "hop your black a$s back to Africa". |
How many states in Nigeria have commissioners from other regions ? |
Not taking any sides, but What's the percentage of AA in American prisons as we speak ? |
I'm not saying that English has no general rules, but when you understand that grammar(in what ever dialect or language) evolves with It's users, you'll understand some of this things better. That's why words like blog and even google are in your modern dictionary(google is actually a verb. And in time it would probably replace search). Just cos the color of the sky is blue your part of town doesn't make the colour of mine blue as well. |
Can someone tell me what the past tense of "dive" is before i educate anyone ? |
Sapele guy don't you know ethnic groups in diaspora have their chieves too ? The late Obi of Igbos in kaduna was returned home for burial just about two weeks ago and all igbo shop owners were advised to lock up in respect. I don't know if the traders honored it though. |
Let me mention some of those slaves : [*] South Korea, one of the most advanced economies in the world today. [*] Taiwan, do you remember when we used to laugh at made in Taiwan products ? How many American companies have plants in Taiwan today ? [*] Even to the South of the US, Mexico which is a very corrupt country has a top 10 GDP today. If that's what being an American slave can get me, then no problem. It would interest you to know that Japan and Germany which are the 2nd and 4th largest economies in the world respectively still has US bases on their soil. There is development and there is underdevelopment, i know the path i have chosen for myself. I look at Nigeria and i know without doubt the kind countries i hope she emulates socio-economically, none of them are in the middle east. |
Nigerian Youths have a say in the affairs of this country, we cannot leave 60 and 70 year old professors to do our fighting for us. Good one comrades. |
If you want history I'll give you history. The weapons black south Africans are using to terrorize Nigerians was bought with oil revenue from Nigeria donated to the ANC, does that make Nigeria a supporter of Xenophobia in South Africa that has claimed Nigerian lives ? The weapons the US gave to the allied forces in the 2nd world war are some of the weapons which Russia used to spread communism in Eastern Europe, i guess the US is a promotes of communism too ? When a country gives arms or monetary support to another group it is for a specific purpose. When that country decides to use such weaponry for other motives you don't hold the benefactor responsible. If a father gives his daughter pepper spray to protect herself on the streets but she in turn uses it to terrorise her class mates, do you call her father a supporter of bullying ? |
So the US is arming the alqaeda in Iraq and Afghanistan to kill American soldiers right ? Your talk of sophisticated arms is laughable too, for the equivalent of 10k you can buy an AK in south Africa. Do the armed robbers in Lagos and Benin get their sophisticated arms from the US too ? |
An old man once told me that whatever is good for the hen, is also generally regarded as being good for the cock. If federal appointments and establishments should reflect federal character, why isn't that rule applied on the state level for the true character of states to be reflected ? I just read somewhere that a certain state in the middle belt with a population of about 3 million individuals has as much as 300,000 people from just one other region in the country(not to mention others), does logic/fairness not tell us that the cabinet and civil service of that state should atleast be reflective of that fact ? All round Nigeria many states have a sizeable population of people from other states resident in their midst but we don't practise "State Character" like at the federal level, why is that ? Isn't it time to correct this discrimination ? |
I don't understand, are you complaining bout the dispersion or are you commending it ? |
^ tpia's 80% sarcasm, 10% humour and 8% Cruella de Vil . The remaining 2% are random particles ![]() |
She/he disappeared around the time of the jos crisis, hope kj wasn't consumed in violence. You could never really know if an NLer is male or female, resident in aba or akure. |
You guys should not just make wild statements. Compare the GDP per capita incomes of the countries you're mentioning to Nigeria's. When you've done that you can also check up on the human development index and see where you country ranks vis a vis the outside world. One thing i'm sure of is that Haitians and Congolese live better than most people in Zamfara, Jigawa et al. |
^^ He's not mad, he angry and frustrated. Can you imagine someone coming to blame the US for the predicament of hausa people. The US is why there's an incredible amount in the rate of illiteracy in the north (hausa people) ? The US is why the streets of virtually all major Nigerian cities are littered with Beggars and Almajiris of hausa origin ? The US is why the poverty rate amongst race is almost 70% ? What about mother infant mortality rate ? . . . . If you can prove that the US is behind all these monumental challenges then I'll accept that the US is behind terrorism in Nigeria. |
I just saw on AIT news not too long ago that the governors council had an overnight meeting where it was decided that Yardua should hand over to Jonny. The council of house speakers have also decided on the same thing. Bukola Saraki who is the head of the governors crap said they were in full support of Jonny to take the role of acting president. So ladies and gents get ready for your first ever south south commander in chief, all be it in acting capacity though. |
This will be another monumental failure in Nigeria. Tracks that were built by colonial govt so as to hurriedly exploit raw materials are the same tracks these monkeys want to utilise. As for the NRC being in charge of the project, hahaha, i have no words. Five years from now those of us still alive will mention this rubbish as the waste of valuable resources. |
May the better team win. |
Football . Let's see the coach whose acumen will be in question after this weekend's round of matches. |
