@yusufi nice to see again. I do hope you're from kano state to you can enlighten us about the "maguzawa"(hope spelling is correct) peopleod kano and why them exiled their children to parts of nassarawa, southern kaduna and jos about 6 years ago.
Politics › Re: Is It Possible For Hausa People To Advance ? by edoyad(op): 12:33pm On Feb 10, 2010
@hadone, thank you for your meaningful contribution to this discourse. Could you please enlighten us as to what part of the country you're from and challenges you're facing ? Cos at the moment i being of southern kaduna origin and resident in kaduna seem to believe that religious dogma and illiteracy are the bane of the hausa society. More disturbing is their clamour for political power but failure to use that power to improve their fortunes. Have you seen the number of beggars and almajiris around the area you live recently ? I swear i get nightmares while i sleep sometimes. My cousin tells me that if i visit kano and see the amount there that my nightmare could turn to a cardiac arrest.
But why must this be ? Don't the "alhajis" you people serve feel the suffering of those children singing and clapping, begging for alms with plastic cups in hand ? sad
Politics › Re: Yoruba Woman Is Adamawa Senator by edoyad(m): 12:06pm On Feb 10, 2010
Ndu chuks where are you from na ? I have already told you that i am southern kaduna descent, middle belt by birth till death. I know beaf and ibime are from the Niger Delta, tpia is an iyawo, mekusx na stubborn Ndigbo, what about you ? Are you hiding something ?
When you finally reveal where you're from, tell us if you have a senator born in another part of the country representing your state/senatorial district ? If you have none, then learn from the middle belt that is a melting pot and home to all and sundry. Is there a single tribe that makes up the Niger delta ? No. Is there a single tribe that makes up the middle belt ? No . These areas have got what we call minority tribes with almost similar cultures. So an Ibibio man would naturally feel comfortable being associated with an Okrika man the same way a berom man would feel at home in the presence of an idoma man.
If you want more material say so and I'll post it for you.
Culture › Re: Questions about Nok People by edoyad(m): 11:11am On Feb 10, 2010
LOL grin , see people claiming my ancestors. @ debosky thank you for the material, i'll post some of mine later on. @dayo Nok people eat donkey brains hope you know ?
The truth is that the Nok civilisation is believed to have cousins in some parts of yoruba and the south-south land, nothing conclusive yet. Many of the terra cota are over 2500 years old, that is not only older than jesus but even Plato and Socrates-don't let anyone ever tell you that civilisation was brought to Africa by arabs and westerners, how many of them could talk moreless cast bronze as far back as then.
The nok village in southern kaduna is under jaba LG for those who might visit there one day. The Nok people are believed to have even lived as far west as even sokoto since pieces of some of these sculptures were discovered there.
Tin mining in jos plateau state helped unearth some of these lost treasures but i'm sure you don't need an oracle to tell you that there possibly are still many more treasures of the civilisation buried underneath the soil of the middle belt region of Nigeria.

@hakanai learn to use paragraphs in your write ups next time, it will help one understand you better. Anyways thank you for your advice, but my question still stands,"on whose ticket is Shade in the senate today ?" . She replaced one man called Jonathan Zwingina from Adamawa south, didn't she ? Okay here's the thing, if ndu chuks is coming to NL to tell other yorubas to reciprocate by voting other people into the senate cos the "NORTH" has voted their daughter into NASS, why didn't he tell his hausa chaps to do the same ? My assignment to you is simple, go and bring an example of hausa people voting a man or woman from another part of the country to represent them in the senate, how hard is that ? As for Folashade Jackson Bent, wife of major Jackson Bent of Adamawa south senatorial district, she was voted in by middle belters.

Mr shoot2kill, 1. not every good man has to be president
2. There's no such thing as a perfect man, good men make bad decisions too but they've got the conscience, integrity and rationality to admit error and correct themselves
3. Soyinka is an academic who would far more valuable to this world nurturing youths than politicking with neanderthals.
The greatest influences of modern society never tasted power but they helped shape those societies.
Martin Luther King and Ghandi didn't need to be president to rescue their people.

Adams Oshiomole and Father Matthew Kukah were voices i remember watching on Channels TV as they dared to oppose Abacha's self succession plan.

PS: i thought Chukwu Merije was the one who made that "phone is not for common man" statement during IBB huh

Politics › Re: Is Nigeria Really The Richest Country In West Africa? by edoyad(m): 9:28pm On Feb 09, 2010
Some one go and find beaf to bring his charts to help you see this thing clearer.
Who's telling all you jokers that GDP whether ppp or capita is true measure of a nations standard of living ? Google Global Human Development Index (HDI) by the UN and check what no. Nigeria is on the chart. The Human Development Index is a mechanism used to check all aspects of life, so a country with High GDP with that wealth concentrated in a few hands is not a good measure of whether the people are living well. Go and read on HDI before any of you comment here again.
Politics › Re: Nigerian Police And Military Executing Civilians by edoyad(m): 8:56pm On Feb 09, 2010
Why not arrest, detain and try first ? The govt was under pressure to cover the fact that it had allowed the boko haram sect to exist Inspite of their draconian methods and mission to destroy civil society.
It is most unfortunate but we have to ensure rule of law is observed and that state resources are not used to sponsor religion.
Politics › Re: Middle Belt Youth To Yar’adua: Hand Over To Jonathan by edoyad(m): 7:08pm On Feb 09, 2010
Of course it would be retarded of me to think that eviction of an ethnic group would turn the place into eldorado. The middle belt has a reasonable no. of muslims in it(hausa and non hausa) . It also has Fulanis; yorubas in kogi and kwara; igbos in nassarawa and benue; camerounians in Taraba etc. The middle belt is a true melting pot of Nigeria and will reach greater heights if it can overcome the aggression of whatsoever forces.

Jonathan also has to do something about that ambassador to Saudi that was a collaborating with Ruma, Turaki Aondoakaa and Maduekwe in the evil plot to deceive Nigeria. To be honest, what business do Nigerian govt officials have in Saudi whether Yaradua is there or not.
Politics › Re: Recommended 7 Point Agenda For Goodluck Jonathan by edoyad(m): 6:09pm On Feb 09, 2010

Politics › Re: Middle Belt Youth To Yar’adua: Hand Over To Jonathan by edoyad(m): 6:03pm On Feb 09, 2010
Does the middle belt have a problem with feeding itself ? My village alone has exporters of ginger and we also are very agricultural people, though we could do better. Benue state is known as the food basket of the nation, kogi state is one of the most educationally advanced in the country and like taraba has marine business going. Do middle belters have a problem feeding clothing and educating themselves ? No.
Who has almajiris, beggars, lowest education rate, highest poverty rate in Nigeria ? Ishmaelite think very well o, thiiinnk , and you finish think again.

Whether southerners trust middle o, whether them no trust them o that is not my problem. My own is, hausa people should look inward like others are doing and know it is not going to be business as usual. If the River Niger and Benue bridges are blown today and every man has to fend for himself, where hausa man go run go my brothers ? Please think before it is too late. I hope the problem called Nigeria can be fixed without bloodshed but if that is the necessary evil, then undecided
Politics › Re: Militants Destroy Shell Facility In Rivers by edoyad(m): 4:55pm On Feb 09, 2010
grin grin . When one is in comfort, it is hard to empathize with struggles of others. Before anyone talks again ask yourself this questions; "is this the best Nigeria can be ?", "are the people running this country even nearly the second best we can produce ? " . Please think very well about these things before you blame someone for fighting for himself.
Should men like Pat Utomi and many others in and outside this country not be contributing to solve our diseased land ? Please think very well whether this is the way a country should be run.
Politics › Re: Militants Destroy Shell Facility In Rivers by edoyad(m): 4:29pm On Feb 09, 2010
"Fire don start, na who go kill am"
My brothers and sisters don't deceive yourselves, the militants are the true Nigerian heroes bringing change to this land. Why do you people feel we can't progress without oil ? I dream of a Nigeria where oil production will be less than 100,000 bpd then the fake Nigerians would be forced to abandon the broke govt. In such a situation only genuine material would aspire for political office because there would be no easy oil money at the center. When that happens the Mining and Agriculture that we've been hearing stories of for eons will definitely be looked into as a way out of the problem.
I hope Akwaibom and CrossRiver youths start representing too, because i don't think that part of the country is better off than the rest of the country where corruption, poverty and unemployment are rife. Youths are the ones to bring about this revolution. Aluta continua !
Politics › Re: Obi: Apga Targets Take-over Of S-east States by edoyad(op): 3:47pm On Feb 09, 2010
I have never supported that idea of a mega opposition party. As long as little pockets of people can wake up and say no to the cabal Nigerians can take this country back one piece at a time.
Vincent Ogbulafor must be wondering what is happening to him by now.
Politics › Re: David Mark Leads Senate Into b.o.o.b.y Trap? by edoyad(m): 3:33pm On Feb 09, 2010
@naijaking, When i say Jonathan should work his wand i mean in the back room. Politics doesn't have to be on the pages of newspapers you know; Jonathan as acting president can make the necessary lobbying to correct this rubbish we're in. Afterall Dora has already sacrificed herself for him so he too should take initiative.
Politics › Re: David Mark Leads Senate Into b.o.o.b.y Trap? by edoyad(m): 2:36pm On Feb 09, 2010
The president of the F R of Nigeria is vested with immense powers, now that Jonathan is acting in that capacity i hope he uses his temporary powers to first get rid of Aondoakaa and Maduekwe before starting the process to fully see him as president. After that the constitution should be amended to make sure rubbish like this never occurs again.
Close to my heart is the FOI bill which i hope he signs into law.

Politics › Re: Northern Lawyers Threaten To Cede From Nba by edoyad(m): 1:45pm On Feb 09, 2010
I'm no legal expert but my contribution is, "when you lie with pigs, you wake up with . ." . If the lawyers from the parts of the middle belt will not come out and seperate themselves from the people who want to operate under sharia legal code, let them suffer the consequences. It would be a show complete indecisiveness on the part of NBA to reverse this decision. Imagine a situation where the meeting of the NBA (with most of It's members from other regions of the country) would be attacked by youths shouting, "we want sharia !" resulting in the deaths of many of these legal minds.
Michael Aondoakaa should also be charged by NBA for bringing the profession into disrepute.

Business › Re: If F.g. Stops Subsidy Of Petrol, Why Spend State Funds On "holy Pilgrimage" ? by edoyad(op): 12:51pm On Feb 09, 2010
@jamace just watch the news later on in the year, you'll see ministers, gov'nors, senators, LG chairmen, Directors etc who are perennial pilgrims. If they're not going with their families the families attend on their own; some times private jets are even hired to ferry some of these people.
Why should revenue from the state be used to sponsor a religious exercise ? Nigerians don't seem to know what our constitution is about that's why a few people can hijack this country.
Politics › Re: Positive Tribalism by edoyad(m): 12:05pm On Feb 09, 2010
Ikengawo does have a point a guys. Even though the issue is more complex than how He's presented it, nothing pushes a man to do more(save for a few people ofcourse) than when He's compared to his peers.
That is why we have something called the peer review system, simply put it is just a method of measuring how well one is performing in comparison to people in the same circumstance, and subject to similar factors and limitations.
@Ikengawo i disagree on the music issue, Tuface, Dbanj, P Square and M I are the kings of our music market and we Know Tu baba and M I are middle belt products. Even P square are jos boys who happen to have igbo parents.
