But you have not answered the question on why you want Nigeria to be in the OIC ? What do we expect to gain from a group of countries of which one is not listed among the top fifteen economies in the world ? Is there any country in the OIC which has a christian president ? Could that be the explanation for reluctance of Yaradua to hand over to brother Jonah so as not to anger his hosts ?
Questioni questions questions .

Any way i have studied all 95 of the theses so you have to award me with an Advanced diploma in German religious history grin .
Martin Luther was a brave man, a prussian revolutionary like Karl Marx and Engels. I wonder why your people don't come in that mould anymore ? grin
My favorite thesis was no. 87 which asked why the rich Leo didn't use his own money to build the cathedral instead of extorting poor people ?
I also liked no. 93 that said they preach peace, peace, peace but do not show peace. Christianity has come a long way since then, hope others can do the same ?

Yemen is regarded as the new Afghanistan. It is poor, virtually lawless and on the verge of falling into the category of a failed state, why are hausa people migrating there ? Are there more opportunities in Yemen or is it the for Islamic education ?

@topic, Gen Ibrahim Babangida tried in vain to get Nigeria listed as an OIC country but thanks to the watchfulness of some valiant people his plans were scuppered. Now the rumors are back again and we know that in OIC countries the it is of utmost importance for the source of revenue of the state and ultimate power (king, president or prime min.)to be under the islamic powers.

Davidylan you're really insightful with your critical analysis of this affair. Because what it all boils down to at the end of the day is, can we trust the hausa man's actions putting in mind all that is unfolding right before our eyes ?
It's not like the northern/hausa oligarchs have not tried making Nigeria a full member of the OIC before; so how can we be sure the alarms being raised from many quarters are false ?
Does the Nigerian non-muslim in Makurdi, yenagoa, Nnewi or wukari know that he automatically becomes disadvantaged being a citizen of a member country of the OIC ? All these issues have to be ironed out.

Nigeria signs OIC Charter

In mid March, the Saudi-based Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) revised their 1972 charter.  This organization is likely positioning itself to be the next Islamic caliphate:

", Adopted unanimously, the new charter allows new countries to join the 57-Muslim body with just a majority vote instead of the usual unanimous agreement, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).

It allows faster decision making, creating new institutions for the 57-nation body and streamlining the OIC's operations.

, The charter was adopted after several days of intense talks and despite the absence of several prominent leaders including Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah and Libya's Moamer Kadhafi.

, "The possibility of an Islamic Renaissance lies before us," Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono told the summit.  "We need to get our act together as an organization of Muslim nations."

Sorry to burst your bubble my dude but hausa people have been statistically proven to be one of the poorest and least developed people in all of africa. Illiteracy, poverty, mother infant mortality etc just name it and your answer is there. How many plateau people do you see begging on the streets of abuja, Lagos or porthacourt ? Most of the hausa's in jos have links to surrounding hausa states, isn't that ? I have never been there myself but people who have say when you go to such places like bauchi, zamfara, jigawa, yobe, sokoto you wonder where the town is cos they're actually more like villages. The middle belt too is poor too but It's atleast much better than hausaland and also trying to develop itself.

@ajali our German princess, i'm sorry for the tone i took up with you. The problem is when one is in rage it is hard to think clearly and see the other side. This religious problem has been used to unleash terror on my people times without number.
I know every country has her problems, even Germany was seperated after the world war by forces beyond her control; but through tolerance and understanding the Soviet backed East Germans came to understand that reunification and democracy was best for Germany. Now she is overcoming the problems of resistance initially posed and Germany is the envy of all. I was suprised when Angela Merkel became chancellor Inspite of her East German origins, that's how people progress not through resistance to positive change.

Secondly on your remarks about alcohol, Germans are the highest consumers of beer in Europe does that take away from the fact that they're the biggest economy in Europe. If the hausa people in jos have a problem with the alcohol that's their problem cos i know for a fact that it is not yet a crime in Nigeria to consume alcohol. May be one day when Nigeria has been Islamized and we're a part of the Organization of Islamic Countries then a prohibition on alcohol could be placed.

Almajiri face, he was the president of Nigeria during the civil war and many ibos were killed by Nigerian forces an action govt "claims" to regret. But for his action of keeping Nigeria together you will hear many people condemn him and his govt. Today his people live in peace with ibo, yoruba, many other minorities and even oyibo in jos and together they're fighting the evil-parisitic nation of almajiris that want to make them illiterate just like them. Next month on the 13th in jos, my plateau friends younger under-graduate sister will be marrying her graduate ibo boy friend on the 13th of feb. right there in jos. I will make sure i'm there to spread my anti-almajiri message so that we never lie down and let the enemy infiltrate the ranks of the progressive thinkers.

@sunnybobo nice reply. Why should what applies to one section of the country be different from what is obtainable in another ? Yes Jona Jang has been incompetent and should resign but like sunnybobo says which hausa state has not been involved in one form of violence against minorities recently ? Yet you call for Jona's head. What about your president ? Hausa man away from Nigeria does not deem it fit to hand over power in acting capacity to another Jona.
The day i see a christian from another part of the country get indigenization letters from kano, sokoto or jigawa states i will condemn plateau people and not Nigeria as a whole. FYI Plateau people belong to a collection of Nigerians known as the middle belt which has benue, taraba , southern Adamawa etc. Senator Folashade Bent representing Adamawa south is of Osun decent now representing the people of the middle belt in the senate (married to an adamawa man though), with the amount of positions available to hausas in Nigeria's polity, can they boast of such a land mark feat ?
