Cos as far as I know, this religion takes the punishment of fornication or adultery very serious and has lead to the faith being condemned for their stern and stringent punishments.

In this religion, you aren't only asked not to fornicate but move far away from it. That is to say even acts that lead to fornication and adultery are prohibited.
