I'm so happy with the 30 percent capital gain tax. It is going to be a welcomed development.

Increase in taxation is very good for the economy although Nigerian politicians can never do away with their embezzlement mentality.

You started the year trading with 50 million Naira.

At the end of the year you turn your 50 million to 300 million Naira.

So,from the above ; your profit is around 250 million Naira.

30% of 250 million is 75 million Naira,then you will take 175 million.

The government will get 75 million Naira while you the monkey hunter(sorry trader) will get 175 million Naira .

I know the monkey hunters gang will not be happy with my analysis above

I see nothing wrong in paying 30% as capital gain tax to Nigeria; because without the Nigerian Stock Exchange,you wouldn't have been able to make such money.

Many investors underate the power of shareholder's funds(aka equity).

Shareholder's funds is how I know the real worth(intrinsic value) of a company.

I added Ellahlakes to my watchlist about 60 days ago during the back and forth on it, it's gone on to make about 300% increase in share price.

If you bought Oando at 7 Naira and it got to 60 Naira and you never sold. And Oando just like APC is never consistent and never to be trusted with respect to the management and earnings;and Oando's earnings and dividends would definitely not be consistent. How will you now get cash flow since dividends is not guaranteed?

I'm only moved by excellent earnings and dividends.

Some of these marketers of low quality stocks always think the stock market is all about capital appreciation.

Stock Market is just like real estate,the rewards come mainly from cash flow(that is dividends). Let assume you bought shares of a company and you can't sell for like 10 years;so tell me how you're going to get rewarded if not through dividend?

Newbies like myself should always invest in companies with the best intrinsic value.

Some gamblers who assume they're investors are still in love with pekos while those who marketed it to them have long sold!

A bitter lesson probably awaits them in the long run.
