mikeapollo: If you are a newbie, then it is better to avoid using derogatory words (bolded) in a hasty manner when it is not even necessary. Investing in stocks has different perspectives based on several information and factors at one's disposal. The reward comes from dividends, capital appreciation, bonus issues etc. Sometimes, capital appreciation within a few days/weeks may deliver what dividends alone cannot give in several years to come! And vice versa. Sometimes, only bonus is given for some years, without dividends (cash). There are many investors (even among the so-called newbies) who may not even be interested in dividends but capital appreciation! Which stocks would they have to buy then? In some cases, people just buy stocks for the future of their kids or younger ones even though the company may not be paying very good dividends at the moment (e.g. FBN when it was selling for about N3-N4 a few years ago). So Dividends is not the only reward, hence it is myopic and shallow to use it as sole basis for assessing performance. At the end of the day, no one on this forum would solicit or demand money from anyone to invest in their stocks. . So there is no one to scam anyone; we only differ in our views and opinions about stocks.. I have heard you Mr Investor turned gambler! I hope you're happy now. |

Keep ya eyes open and know when to run....Plan is always to push up the share price and do the capital raising at a discount to the market They are raising funds that they are either going to mismanage or embezzle. |

Before 2 years this bull run will be over especially for junk stocks(no-dividend paying stocks). They are all raising funds that most of these companies cannot manage efficiently. And junk stocks will be decimated by the ravaging bearish market. And those that have been swimming naked would then be revealed. |

investmentworld: Primary purpose of people in the stock market be you a trader or a long term investor, TA or FA , Spiritual or sentimental analysis is to make money . I am tired of people here who takes delight in running stocks down just because they don't like the stock . You do not have to involve yourself in a stock you do not like . They say you get yourself dirty when you fight with the pigs . As wise person, just respect yourself and leave people to be the managers of their portfolio . I am so sick of the lingo"I am trying to protect the newbies" . we all have been newbies at one time or the other and sooner or later , the newbie will learn and become wiser. Stop running down other stocks. focus on the one you are invested in . Everyone has his or her investing philosophy and as long as it is making money for you , we will all be alright . Don't juxtapose your investing philosophies on others because several factors such as age, amount of capital available and others are involved . The one that I can't get over is where some members of this forum are magnanimous enough to bring some CEOs of these companies on X spaces and ask members to come and ask questions and hear straight from the horses mouth . They won't show up and later they will start crying and asking irrelevant questions to members of the forum when they had the opportunity to questions directly to the owners of these companies. The same people will whine that people like Boniface Okezie and their likes are handpicked to ask questions during AGM but when you had the chance , you refused to ask . A lot of companies are running now and any observant person will understand that there's a big policy shift from over reliance on crude oil and diversifying into other areas especially agriculture which is a big money spinner especially with tariffs being imposed everywhere Agreed we are going into an AI world, Ai can improve your productivity but will not make yam, cocoa, palm oil germinate . Any sharp investor must be street smart. you hear word like blue economy to the extent we have a ministry set up for that, you hear our president about making Agriculture sexy again but some of us are just focused on balance sheet . Go and find out what is happening to the price of cocoa and how Nigeria is beginning to position to become a leader again the production after cote d'ivore and Ghana recently had some blips due to weather and you see the only Cocoa company we have listed on the NGX doing massive volumes in the last 4 weeks and all people are interested in is they do not have any revenue and their balance sheet is in a mess . You want to hear there's a turn around first before you start buying and later accuse village people of having a strong hold on you . Any ways massive shout out to @yMcy56, @surprisepebbles, @currentprice, @agbalowomeri, @biovail@olufemi @emmadot @paEwumiand all the ladies and gentlemen who keep this forum going . Let's just learn to tolerate each other help each other grow financially . I have a lot of respect for people who are into stocks in Nigeria because it tells me they want to do the right thing to make money rather thanusing other means . Oga Guguru I greet o! I welcome your aspersions with open heart. When I see the Noise Traders I easily recognize them. The noise traders are charlatans or scammers and they're so good in marketing junk stocks like 'Elijah Lakes' ! Like I will always write,my fellow newbies beware of scammers whose sole trade is to market junk stocks without consistent earnings and dividends. Is like you don't know the meaning of investment with respect to the stock market. If you bought a no-dividend paying stocks without ever selling it; then how are you going to recoup the funds you used in the purchase of it? I know you are a gambler! |

Some businesses have a high net margin but low turnover, while others have a very low net margin but the turnover is high
I don't have C and I shares, but I think the future is bright.
Since the profit is very low according to you, have you compared the current price with the revenue. I want to believe that the Price/ Sale ratio should be 1 or below You're probably right! C& I leasing is probably a high margin with low turnover business . |

I have gone through the process and by 3rd year I thought I have finally been trapped by my village people. Thereafter even the first fruiting was only fit as poultry feeds.
The way we seat in the comfy of our offices and keyboards to write off the honest sweat, efforts, anguish and sleepless nights of others is nauseating. With the ignorance we display as knowledge on this faceless forum, little wonder we are where we are at this moment as a people.
Constructive criticism is fine. To be skeptical is natural but the window of DD is always open to those who are genuinely interested in knowing the fact.
We should endeavour to be what we look for in others rather than always being in the vanguard of disparaging and running down the endeavours of people struggling to make an impact. Some folks feel agriculture is very easy and it doesn't take time! The business of agriculture is a technical endeavour, and as such excellent management team with right technical knowledge is needed in order to be successful. |

Think of what will happen after FY'25 audited results. You may not find this stock to buy again below N10 ( Very conservative figure). The economy has shifted structurally. CI is in for a huge loot! DeRuggedProff: Copied:
Why Did C&I Leasing’s Share Price Crash From ₦5.50 to ₦4.26 After Q1?
Simple Answer: The market misread the Q1 results, fixating on the PAT line without digging deeper.
What Happened: A Reconstruction | Metric (Q1 2025) | Value | Market Reaction | |----------------------|-----------|---------------------| | Revenue | ₦9.17B | Healthy | | Gross Profit | ₦4.92B | Solid | | PAT | ₦433M | "Too low?" | | EPS | ₦0.15 | "Looked weak" | | Depreciation | ₦2.08B (₦500M YoY increase) | Not understood | | OCI | ₦21–₦28B | Ignored entirely |
Market’s Take: Saw flat PAT and low EPS. Conclusion: "Growth is stalling. Dump it."What the Market Missed: Depreciation jumped ₦500M, suppressing reported profit. Operating income was stronger YoY. MV Bello (vessel) likely not yet factored in, signaling future upside. No fundamental deterioration—purely accounting timing.
Bottom Line: The market’s reaction was emotional, not rational. It punished C&I Leasing for conservative, IFRS-compliant reporting, not for broken fundamentals. To me,this is a poor result! Earning per share is supposed to be more than 50 Kobo. |
