Good job. Please recommend the procedure to everyone you know. I would’ve been ignorant like most if not for my current job. I’ve undergone routine checkups for seven years and counting. Everybody I tell in the real world only spouts the response “something must kill a man” or “you don chop belleful, na why.”

Heart failure is more expensive than daily meals in the long run. We all know how products have skyrocketed in prices. Imagine being on routine medication because man never chop belleful so he no enter hospital.

I don’t do “at least.” A full medical checkup is required. Those two are mere scratching the surface. A forty year old Nigerian who has never gone for a checkup will miss many signs of poor health if he/she employs the least option.

The only true millionaire here is Seun. That was ten years ago. The state of Nairaland is a reflection of his financial status. With adverts littering every page of the forum and the front page slapping someone with obnoxious ads, his millionaire days are long gone. This place is for bored teenagers and lowlife adults to waste their most precious resource; time. Anyone who hits it big takes a hiatus from the forum because they build proper priorities.

It didn’t start with Millennials. It has been a thing since the beginning of time. The people who practice it can’t give a logical reason why they choose to, only “so my name will not be forgotten.”

Many schools teach children the skills required to succeed in the current market. Maybe this write-up is about government schools. As far back as 2007, private university curricula taught students how to survive in an early 2000s workplace. Maybe government and federal schools taught differently.

Beef up your pocket and you can send your children to schools where speaking like foreign nationalities is embedded in the curriculum. I met some Ghanaians who attended only international schools from primary to tertiary. The schools were located in their home country. The difference between them and the white British was skin colour and London street knowledge.

1. Nairaland moderators are useless. Topic I put in the politics section for specific reasons has been moved to the food section. Is beer food? ROFLMAO. We will never get things right in this country. They will claim politicians are wicked, completely ignoring that the politicians in power were sourced from the masses. Any of us will do the same and probably worse in positions of authority.

2. I remember when beer was 250 Naira per bottle. That year, you could find some off brands for 150 Naira. That was eight years ago at the latest. The last time I drank beer, it was 1500 - 1800 Naira. That was two years ago. What I paid last night still gives me nightmares.

Why are human beings wicked like this? If the person who started the rumour got arrested, we know what his mother would do all over social media. Nigerians, give yourselves sense na, haba!

Even if smartphone cameras did not exist, those people would still do nothing but stare. It’s better for them to use the idle time to record proof. Many crimes overseas use evidence from such videos to prosecute offenders.

1. I see nothing wrong with the situation because the people are offering a service.

2. The situation is not so bad here and is actually declining overseas. I guess most people there now decide that everyone should keep to themselves and would not bother to take time out of their day.

3. If people never recorded events on their phones and broadcasted them, we would still be debating on the existence of Boko Haram and their numerous atrocities. Nairaland, Twitter and YouTube for close shop if not for smartphone cameras.

What is no surprise here is that despite the many stories about witchcraft and what-have-you, no video evidence has come out. Camera phones have existed for 27 full years. When will we stop believing stories which aren’t real?

In recent times, I have seen couple of videos online that made me ponder seriously on the sensibility of Nigerians.

First, I saw a video of a woman carrying a huge stone to hit another woman on her back due to an issue both of them had. What surprised me was that people were using their phones to record the unfortunate event instead of preventing the aggressive woman from carrying out such wicked act.

In another video, someone was recording a sleeping driver in a commercial bus, until the driver swerved off the road and hit a structure. Luckily for the passengers, it was not fatal. Instead the person making the video to caution the sleeping driver, he thought it was more important to make a video so that he could share online. If that accident had been fatal, both the person making the video and his phone would have ceased existing.

Just yesterday, I saw an accident video where about three men were stuck inside a trailer. They were still alive and breathing heavily, but instead of the people around to bring them out and rush them to the hospital, they were busy making videos and posting on social media.

I am not really surprised that we have the type of leaders we have in Nigeria. It is the nature of a people that determine the type of leaders they get. Leaders are a reflection of the society they govern. I keep telling people that Nigerian leaders in their wickedness are still from Nigeria, and not Morocco or Bolivia. Out of every 10 Nigerians, 8 would tend to think and behave like the leaders.

This social media craze of being the first to post or share something tragic online has eaten so deep into our bone marrows to an extent where we allow people to bleed and die just to video them and post online. What a society!

We need to separate compassion/responsiveness from content creation.

The woman explained that although the actions may appear ordinary, her husband prefers to handle certain responsibilities himself and does not allow her to take them over.

Some men view their wives as a reflection of them. They will maintain her no different from how they maintain cars, houses and other properties. She’s in a good position to realize when he starts cheating or looking elsewhere.

This was how it started, however he now takes pride in doing it himself. Once again, he’s wired that way. I’m sure he enjoys it being part of his weekly routine. Maybe he is/was a soldier. Na those ones dey enjoy piling unnecessary responsibilities on themselves.

The woman further revealed that her husband does not allow her to pay household bills, even when she offers to use her own salary.

She said that if she pays a N20,000 or N10,000 electricity bill, commonly referred to as a NEPA bill, her husband will reimburse her when he returns home.

He will still jam the situation he’s dodging. She’ll secretly be handling a bill of 2,000 - 5,000 Naira. One day, ten years later, when they have an argument, she’ll bring it up out of the blue and claim, “When did you ever handle bills in this household?! I’ve paid xyz without your help for years!”

She also disclosed that her husband does not allow them to sleep in separate rooms, even when they have disagreements.

According to her, whenever she threatens to sleep in the parlour after a quarrel, her husband follows her there. If she returns to the bedroom, he also returns.

She added, “Although we can put pillows in between.”

Once again, easy to learn when he starts cheating or wandering. That is his style. It won’t work for everybody. Many men cherish their peace of mind and will not mind exiting the room for the woman to take over. He maybe saw the end stages of a marriage and linked it to separate bedrooms. Many marriages eventually end that way because both partners were individuals before coming together. What do you want to learn about someone after seeing them every day for the past twenty-two years? Abeg, dey your dey, make I dey my dey. Woman never finish for road.


Now, in some other households, the woman handles 99% of responsibilities. In many others, the man does while masquerading to friends that his wife is the best home keeper on earth. All fingers are not equal and everybody has his means to bring out results.

As much as imagination tells you so, it doesn’t work like that in real life. Why don’t serial killers and psychopaths join the army? What happens is some level-headed individuals join the army only to find out they enjoy killing. It is never the other way around. When a hobby becomes a job, it loses fun.

A woman who is a sex addict would rather sleep with every man she comes across over asking them to pay. Now, if a regular woman enters the trade then discovers she’s addicted to sex, I have no idea. The job rewires average women’s heads to see men as a means to an end anyway. Bills do not give grace periods.

Some hook-up ladies may be helpless sex addicts that may be pretending to sleep around for money. They may still sleep around if they have no clients; but demanding for cash may just be a way to get profit from sexual addiction.

When a hook-up lady tells you that she will stop if you provide her constant cash: do you know if she is a sex addict? Do you know even hook-up might make a lady a sex addict?

Again, if you are an innocent lady dating a guy that sleeps with prostitutes in a brothel, you might become a nymphomaniac if you sleep with the guy you are dating. The guy may have sexual addiction spirits that may be from the brothel prostitutes who may be nymphomaniacs, and he may transfer it to you that was initially innocent.

This is why Nairaland wasn’t factored when programming AI. Ordinary query, una don turn am to fight. Imagine if that was how Meta AI responded to questions.
