There's a reason you have the highest likes and I'm proudly giving you the 170th like... Best comment so far. I dont know why Calling out a wrong/immoral act has to be associated with hypocrisy.. As long as I'm not condemning any one, I do not have to be perfect to do so(ie condemning the action, not the person). Even prostitutes/murderers/thieves would prefer for their children to live more decent lives and not follow in their path.. Its one thing to admit that a lot of people indulge in theft, ritual killings, fraud, fornication, sodomy etc.. But its another thing altogether to promote immorality and shut down people (who try to expose these wrongs) on the grounds that they may have been guilty of such acts too

These gamers are polar opposites to the Graphic Driven ones, these gamers are all about story they'll take an 8-bit side scroller over the latest in triple-A gaming, if that 8-bit side scroller has a killer and engaging story and good on them, some clunky looking games have some of the most heartbreaking story beats around.

What you'll notice is these kinds of gamers tend to be more into RPGs, JRPGs in particular, they'll never skip a cutscene no matter how long, for these folks games are just an awesome movie you get to control the flow of.

Politics / Re: Omarose Manigault In 'War' With Donald Trump by eevich: 1:20pm On Aug 30, 2018
Lets not get too sentimental over this Omarosa issue. There are reports about her violating White house rules and taking advantage of White house luxuries among other allegations which she has not denied. Well I guess her 'Nigerian-ness' was on full display right there(if indeed she has any Nigerian roots).
Make no mistake though, Omarosa in my opinion is an intelligent, confident, ambitious and well-spoken Woman who has created a brand for herself. However l feel its disingenuous or ill-informed, to put it mildly, to portray her as the poor, innocent victim in this case who just got fired and is been attacked for no Just reason at all.
After standing with Trump for over 10 years and actively campaigning/defending him in the just passed election cycle, her recent fallout with him led to a tell-all mea culpa which is not winning her any points, even with the most anti-Trump entities..
Meanwhile, Rasmussen Reports finds in a new survey that, contrary to her claims that the president is “a racist, a misogynist, a bigot.”, black support for Trump has risen to 31%. That's up 13 percentage points since this time last year. This is primarily owing to reported dips to the lowest black unemployment in history.
No wonder, A lot of pundits and mainstream media personalities consider her credibility to be in question.
In fact, she's roundly viewed as a bitter and disgruntled two-bit opportunist, a racial sellout and an ego driven hustler..

No point wasting your time. They're either immature or low IQ fuckktards that rehash our habits in secondary school of calling fellow guys "gay" at every slight thing to reinforce our image of our own hypermasculinity. Well I empathize with you over such experience but that is just life for you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and moral principles as long as they do not infringe on other people's fundamental rights. I personally do not approve of the gay lifestyle (assuming you are) but I do not see how even that would hinder me from treating a gay person with human dignity.

Having said that, it seems to me that we Sometimes get Carried away and treat certain privileges as rights. We have no right to; feeling loved, recognition, respect, kindness, understanding, tolerance/indulgence from others (and so on) and as much as I wish people could just be kind and polite ALL the time and to EVERYONE -regardless of who they are- unfortunately that's not the world we live in.

At best, what that guy did was socially unethical and he should deal with his conscience.. If he had physically assaulted you for being cross-dressed or gay (which ever you are) then I'm sure that'll would have been a totally different issue.
Meanwhile, man up and move on with your happy life Derenle. You can't let this put you down. Most celebs have experienced some form of harassment, verbal assault or outright embarrassment and they survived it. Playing the victimhood card only makes you appear weak...

First you can't call me son because I'm not your son. Secondly this is not someone else calling Hilary Clinton a wife and mother. She described herself that way in her own bio!! What's so difficult for you to understand that she has a right to do so. Thirdly, enough of the personal attacks, I do know the things I stand for and they inform my opinions daily, if I took exception to Obama's sodomy as described in the thread I commented on, does that then mean he must be a bad human being in every aspect of his life? I've seen a lot of humans to know that nobody is completely bad or good so I've learnt to judge matters as they've been presented in the case at hand. I've had cause to praise chimamanda on other matters just as I totally condemn what she did in this matter, yeah, I condemned Obama's sodomy but I had reason to support him against Hilary in the dems2008 primary and against McCain and Romney in the general elections and the same Clinton I'm defending now, I've also had cause to condemn over many other issues. I don't pre judge people before hearing their case because of pre conceived notions I have about them, something you clearly have a problem doing. I repeat, Enough of the personal attacks, i don't want to roll that way this morning
Really enjoying your back and forth with the other Nairalander..
Your comeback on the "son" descriptor is spot on.
In addition, the analogy holds no water in the context of the matter at hand.
Being a proud "Wife" or "Mother" is a choice and in many societies(eg. America), the recognized platform through which you become either or both is the institution of marriage(ofcourse with exceptions).
My point is that being tied to a partner and having children is an act of "will" whereas being/becoming a BIOLOGICAL "son" or "daughter" is not a choice and hence its irrelevant to put that on your Bio..

Clinton is ambitious. No qualms about that. But she is dishonest, bitter calculative, rude and condescending. Clinton would call a goat her brother for political favours. If she had chosen to use wife and mother on her Twitter bio to change political opinions, she laid her bed so shall she lie on it. Perhaps if she had tried to be a good person, she would not have had to convince anyone. She is a politician. Most politicians try to change public opinion od themselves while contesting. America has had male politicians that tried to show that they uphold family values to please their electorate. I do not see you screaming sexism.

I agree that powerful and ambitious women face gender bias. I call out those gender biases. But these gender biases do not apply to Clinton. She is who she is. If pretence was what she needed, I am glad she got in line. She is like every politician. Let her be one!

interesting take!

Did Hillary Clinton go into any public meeting or social gathering describing herself as wife? Chimamanda went to her personal twitter bio to pick offence at the way she described herself. Hello!!!! It's her personal space, she's free to describe herself the way she wants to Ok. Have you seen Obama's bio? He describes himself as dad and husband first before anything else. Is Obama also a victim of misogyny? Gosh!! What gives you the impression that you have the right to invade people's personal spaces and dictate to them how they should describe themselves and even have the nerve to tell them you are "upset" with them because their description of themselves does not tally with your own convoluted view on things? This is beyond ridiculous, it's outright stupidity!!!

Did they know that the whole house was infested with cameras?
Did they know that the program was televised publicly?
Did they know that any inglorious scene they create stands the chance to remain indelible on the internet and serve as a continual source of shame to them and their families?

A right thinking individual would have been smatter to either avoid the show or rather maintain an honorable stance throughout the show.
Alas! They chose otherwise. They chose to have sex like animals will do; publicly.

Except for a career in porn, that scene would be used to hunt and destabilize them (especially the lady) in any profession she opts for.

You sure wouldn't like your children to "express love" to strangers on national T.V for their children and grand children to see. Would you?
Spot on!
And this idea that its only in our culture that such behavior is regarded as inappropriate. Remember "Alicia Machado"? She was a former Miss World who Hillary tried to use against Trump during 2015 election campaign..
Trump immediately made reference to a reality show in which she had sex on life Cam, as well as other questionable behavior of her past.
And her public image/credibility took a hit instantly.. Slut-shaming ain't peculiar to our culture. I dont think BamTeddy are taking flak from the public for just having sex, they're been criticized for doing it publicly.
But who knows? These action may be of no seious consequence if Bambam is to pursue a career in the Arts.

I presume he's implying that the economic blueprints of previous administrations were suitable to our needs abi?
And Since he knows better than us, then let him suggest the economic blue print he thinks would suit our peculiar needs na! Nansense!

Its easy to criticize a govt over policy/blueprint and its another to proffer viable solutions. Economic plans are not magic. They take years and in some cases decades to take effect.
Yes we may not be feeling the impact of current policies now and there is alot to criticise about this government's approach to many prevailing issues but rational-thinking minds recognize this govt's determination to;

- clamp down on the corruption and wanton looting (of our commonwealth) that has hampered the growth of our economy for so long.
- ban unnecessary imports like toothpick, pencils, eggs, chicken, rice, palm oil etc thereby encouraging local production/manufacturing
- boost agriculture
- kick-start local oil refining (very soon) so we don't continue to spend billions of dollars on importation of refined crude oil(dont get me started on Billions and Trillions wasted on subsidy).
- increase our Capital budgetary allocation and as a result several ongoing infrastructural projects to show for it..including Energy/Power projects..
- Create jobs from all of the above

Bill gates should understand that due to failure of our leadership over the years, we are not only suffering from the deficit of basic infrastructure, amenities and other services that improve the living standards of the common man, we are also yet to become agronomically self-subsistent and as a result have failed to lift a significant percentage of the masses out of poverty and starvation. We are not U.S.A where the poorest of the poor, though homeless, are guaranteed 3 (quality) meals, free medical care, free education, own iPhones, mac books and have access to free WiFi.

Whatever his indices are for assessing our economy, he should understand that we are still a baby economy that has been damaged so badly that the concerted efforts of the current administration are basically just getting us crawling out of the woods. We are trying to diversify our economy hence are now rejuvenating our rice pyramids/mills among others and are looking to hopefully revamp our steel, textile, and other industries. The era of importing virtually every product/produce from other countries, including his Country (U.S), at the expense of our depleting foreign reserves is over...
If he's not happy about these strides that this govt's trying to make, make him carry go..

Its quite perplexing how some women continue to use this stale victimhood strategy - to draw sympathy and hopefully get popular - yet are unwilling to use the avenue to champion the noble cause that will really help to mitigate what seems to be a real social menace confronting sisters, daughters, nieces and even mothers.
How do you hope to inspire us to join in this fight or to take it seriously when we do not see rapist exposed, arraigned in court, or AT LEAST publicly shamed?
Could it be that you are too afraid of the facts that'll be unearthed when your alleged rape incident is properly investigated?
Whatever the case, if you are really interested in inspiring others to speak out, making a movie does not suffice. We need to have rapists brought to justice as deterrent to others.
Is the alleged ENTERTAINER a Ghost? Name him or shut that hole..

Well I hope, for the sake of moral consistency, that he teaches his daughters to go unclad where and when they please in the name of feminist liberty...

I think its dumb for a lady to behave this way especially with a man she's relatively unfamiliar with because to me, this is a matter of mutual respect and understanding. I believe we set the rules in our homes. Close or not, familiar or not, a lady has to respect a man when in his home and vice versa.

Problem with 3rd wave feminists' rhetoric is that besides playing the victimhood card, they seem to exempt women from Moral responsibility yet, are unwilling to deal with the consequences. They expect men to just magically decipher women's thoughts and act accordingly..

In addition, we really need to dispense with this notion that all men are some stereotypical h.orny dogs who'll just pounce on any unclad woman they see..

however, my dear sisters always keep in mind that responsibility goes both ways. Except you, indeed, intend to "get down" with him, you should be polite enough to seek his consent or ask if he'll mind you stripping for whatever reasons you feel the need to.
On the other hand If a man is not comfortable with her being unclad at his place, he should be able to nicely let her know and MAYBE give her reasons as well.

"Why would they demean the integrity of the senate, and lay siege on a senator of the Federal Republic as if you want to arrest a common criminal.”

So when police demean the integrity of, and lay siege on a common convicted citizen, its suiting to their status?

That a Senator of a sovereign nation(in the 21st century) would spew such gibberish suggests that there is a serious deficit in how elites value common citizens...
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If for example, our law enforcement agents have a record of excessive use of force or blatant abuse of civil rights, then we should address the problem holistically and not only call it out when a "so-called" elite (who in this case has no immunity) falls victim.
No suspect/criminal should be handled more brutally or leniently on the basis of their status in the society. If in fact there must be disparate treatment, its the highly placed-found wanting- who should be held to higher standards.

Though i agree with Melaye on some issues, he doesn't have my vote on this Irresponsible utterance .
Family / Re: “children Are A Burden. They Slow Down Careers & Are Time Consuming” - Lady by eevich: 7:48am On Mar 08, 2018
Dear Madam, I agree with your message and totally agree that motherhood(or parenthood) Is not for everyone. but how about saying.

“Having Children comes with responsibilities. For a career parent, you may be required to miss a few months of school or take that maternity leave(which you are entitled to in any working environment). Children's care, upkeep and education entail some significant financial investment. They also need alot of their PARENT'S time, attention, guidance and affection. It’s sad that some are carelessly brought into the world by people unwilling to make those sacrifices.”

“Without a kid you typically have to mainly worry about yourself. With a child, you have to factor them into every decision you make. You are responsible for another, you can’t be as impulsive and frivolous, you adapt your way of living to the standards required of a parent.”

My observation: Choice of words matter a lil more than we presume. Using words/lines like "burden", "time-consuming", "extra load", and other DISAPPROVING rhetoric in refering to children, reeks of 3rd-wave FEMINIST style or verbiage and seemed to taint what I believe would have been a beautiful message.

Give up trying to be perfect and know that it is okay to make mistakes. Be natural, be yourself. Take deep breathes and finally, SPEAK.
You nailed it. That was, in fact, what made the difference for me. Accepting its ok to stutter or even stumble over your words in the middle of the speech. As long as you're able to recover composure and speak on, people are likely to forget any such glitches if you start well and then land smoothly.
Another thing I've noticed is that beginners believe that every bit of their nervous response, ie sweating, shaking of voice/lips, dry mouth/lips etc is visible to the audience.. That is rarely ever the case.. Just keep your mind on the subject and remember that you are more knowledgeable on it than most of the audience who are keenly listening to add to their knowledge repository... Best of luck @OP.
