GEJ presidency did not come without a price. People are busy celebrating here without reading in between the lines. These boys are just acting out a script. It is most likely part of the deal made for GEJ in the last election and/or for 2015. Also, this outcome is beyond just a GEJ issue. PDP as a whole is up to something.

Read in between the lines before you celebrate the "end" of zoning.


1. Which geopolitical zone is Tambuwal from?
2. Which geopolitical zone was Yardua from?
3. What deal did GEJ and OBJ cut with the North to allow GEJ emerge as president?
4. Do you really think the PDP leadership was caught unawares considering the whooping support Tambuwal got?
5. Did GEJ and OBJ honestly believe the other reps would support Mulikat?
6. Which geopolitical zone advocated for the regular zoning formula and why?
7. Which candidate would serve the bellies of the floor members best?
8. Why has ACN been having romantic affairs with PDP lately?
9. Who did the ACN members support and why didn't they vote for a South Westerner?
10. Is Tambuwal not a PDP member? 

I honestly do not think these things happened overnight. I believe it is all part of the big plan. Compensation politics and zoning are still very much alive. These boys have only just adopted new strategies to solve their problems.

Politicians are very dangerous people. Don't be deceived by what you hear in the news. Tambuwal may have been anointed in secret by the powers that be long before now. I'll be watching.

@enjwasa, how do you know it is not part of the plan to compensate the north for GEJ presidency? GEJ's presidency has changed a lot of things so we can expect more surprises.

All the talk about who we voted or did not vote will not change anything. Even if the poster voted Obama and Mahatma Gandhi combined, we would still not have 100% power in less than 2 months after the election! Let's be patient because all hands are on deck to greatly improve the situation over the next few years.

    Consequence: No where to treat themselves anymore

2. Action: Burnt down a warehouse owned by Borno ministry of health where vaccines used in immunizing kids against polio, measles and meningitis were kept.
    Consequence: Outbreak of disease among children who happen to be their own brothers and sisters. Secondary effect: Cut short their own future.

Illiteracy is truly a disease.

That is the lesson I've been trying to teach my fellow Nigerians since right after the elections.

The world is becoming a global village. If we cannot run the company, we can as well allow the Russians, Chinese or "Whoeverese" to run it under special local content terms. We stand to gain. All over the world, foreigners own and  run large companies outside their territory. If that is what it will take, why not go ahead. But I can assure you that we have Nigerians who can run it perfectly with little foreign input. FG is only being foolish about it.

KnowAll, Bakare on his own cannot even stand against Chris Okotie. The 10 million votes had absolutely nothing to do with Bakare. I can say Bakare was even a minus to Buhari considering the fact that he could have gone for someone like Okonjo Iweala.

If I am to score the parties based on state governors' average performance sonce 1999, I will score PDP 40% and ACN 60%. No offence.

Don't misquote me. CPC does not represent core North. The core North can still and will still produce a president in the near future as long as we remain one nation. But that will be under any other political platform (most likely PDP). If ACN can get a formidable candidate from the core north, they can also expand their sphere of influence and get a good shot at the job.

If Ajaokuta could be made to function optimally, the unemployment rate would have drastically reduced. Those jobless Boko Haramites would have preferred to earn a living there than haul bombs around. You need to see the capital investment on ground in that place. They also enjoy almost 100% power availability. It is unbelievable. The houses built there for workers have been occupied by animals and plants. Damn!!! If China had that in their country, you cannot imagine what they would have done with it.

There goes the political factor. Which company is that? BTW, are you referring to the Indian company?

I cannot even describe how terrible it is. You need to see it live to understand how bad it is. It is like setting money on fire purposely.

CPC as a party should forget about the presidency at least for the next 100 years. We should be talking about ACN or any other progressive party att this time. The foundation of CPC is horribly faulty and no structure can stand on it in the near term. The only thing they can do is to completely rebrand by breaking down the foundation, digging new trenches and starting all over again (probably with a new name).

@Dustydee, all of the above plus political problems. In fact I cannot even begin to list all the possible problems but one thing is for sure. The problems are not without solution. We only need someone with balls of steel and an iron hand to break the yoke. I have been to the place and I can tell you that the situation is unbelievable. It is one of the worst examples of how to run a business on earth.

If you visit Ajaokuta Steel Company (knowing what the potentials are), you will weep like a baby. The enormity of the waste is beyond imagination.

He is trying to strike a balance between inclusiveness and merit. It's a very difficult game to play but I hope it ends well. I'll be watching.

Private investors run business far better than the government. It is better they buy everything than allow the wole thing rot away. If it will take Dangote's buying Ajaokuta steel to make it work, then he should be allowed to buy it.

One of the benefits of the prepaid meter is that it encourages smart consumers to conserve their usage. This in turn will help reduce the load by an appreciable extent. The estimated bills and the like encourage waste. Mine is a perfect example. Before I got the prepaid meter, I maximized my consumption by putting on the heater always, putting all my fans and ac's on full blast, leaving my security lights on all day etc. Back then, PHCN used to give me estimated bills of up to 6k a month. I had paid for the prepaid meter but wasn't given any for months. When it got out of hand, I fought them to a standstill.

Now that the prepaid meter has been installed, I minimize my consumption. Today, I consume less than N1,000 worth of power a month. I only have to pay an extra maintenance fee of just over N1000 per month (for a 3 phase meter). I also do not have to pay every month. I pay once in 3 months.

If the system is well implemented and regulated properly, Nigerians will enjoy better availability. I believe that even without building new power plants, implementation of energy saving systems along with the prepaid system can help improve power availability by more than 20%.
