#Yawn! Abegii, when is the next episode of super story featuring the Crying General? I thought by now these losers would have gotten over the humiliation they suffered at the elections. Continue sulking, losers!

If only we can divide without bloodshed it would have been awesome! But we all know that is not possible. The smartest thing we can do now is to renegotiate the terms of our existence. I guess that is the famous Sovreign National Conference (SNC) as has been called for by the likes of Prof. Wole Soyinka. The more we delay to act, the closer we get to violent disintegration because, we are heading there already.

OP is not far from the truth. That is the way things go in Nigeria. Religion and ethnicity have created a gulf between Nigerians and the unity of Nigerians.

I am 1000% sure that FBI knows more about Nigeria and Boko Haram than the entire police force does.

@Kobo, yes FG has failed woefully in terms of handling the security problem. It is obvious and nobody can deny it. The reason I say so is not the fact that we have these bombings but because no decisive action seems to have been taken till date.

FBI is not "taking over" investigations. They are actually "starting" the investigations cos there was nothing to "take over"! The police and SSS have been doing nothing but playing draft with Boko Haram. Incompetent crackheads.

We do not need "experts" to help us "think" the blast could have been averted. We "know" it should have been averted. Our systems and structures have collapsed completely. We are only surviving on goodwill and not by the government's deliberate efforts. We need to build up this nation from the foundation. The starting point is for us to come together and establish the basis of existing as one nation. Until that is done, we will keep on in this journey to nowhereville.

They will soon turn against their own sponsors and self destruct.

Well said deenee. This matter is a difficult one but the truth is clear. We are wasting our money and destroying our productivity at the same time.

It is similar to the problem of over dependence on oil. because we have oil, we have abandoned manufacturing and agriculture.

Yes, commodity prices will go up but come to think of it, has there ever been a time prices did not go up? My argument is simply that the money should be used more efficiently. Let that cash go into the power sector and manufacturing costs will definitely come crashing down. With time, the markets will stabilize and we will be fine.

The level of corruption in customs should give u an idea about why stopping the smuggling will not work. You only give those thieves more room to collect bribes. It's best to make it non profitable to smuggle and it will die a natural death with less problems to worry about.

We can list a million more efficient ways to use that money. Subsidy is so foolish! I personally do not need FG subsidy and many more do not even if they refuse to say so. Those who really need it do not even drive cars so who is really benefiting? How many liters of fuel does the average villager consume in a day?

@ekt, that has been the exact point I've been making for ages. There are more efficient ways to use that same money. It is better we increase the minimum wage to 50k and leave the senior staff at their current pay level or declare a "fuel allowance" for lower level staff.

The earlier we remove the subsidies, the better for us but there must be at the same time an accelerated program to build local refining capacity, rail network, power and other key infrastructure as identified.

I am so surprised that even our legislooters have not been able to use their position of authority to do anything about the menace. They do not even act like they care for their own safety. I once said that this war will only be taken seriously the day one of them (or some prominent person like the President, VP, Sultan of Sokoto, or a governor) is hit. Seems they are still waiting for that day b4 taking a decisive action. I'm watching.

FG is NOT on top of the situation. It is obvious we are losing the battle against terrorism. The only way forward now is foreign intervention. The earlier we beg for help, the better for us. There is no use playing ping-pong with these terrorists anymore. Let the yankees come in and have a filled day with their seals and drones!

It will work. The thing is not just to come up with names but with substantial evidence/leads that should lead to an end of the group. Our government is either not thinking in this regard or too foolish to act.

Sometimes I wonder if the people at our "intelligence agencies" really have brains. We cannot even identify the enemy not to talk of where the attacks are coming from! Boko Haram could just be a front.

The uncertainties trailing recent happenings in Nigeria have led many Nigerians to cook up different theories about the origins of Nigeria's new found warfare. One of such theories is that Boko Haram is being used as a tool by foreign bodies and organizations with different agenda to perpetrate their criminal activities.

Only a few days after Nigeria took a stand against Libya's unrepentant tyrant (Gaddafi), a bomb went off at the UN office in Abuja. The question many Nigerians have asked is: Why UN? Could it be that Gaddafi paid for the attack from his rat hole?

The events may not be unconnected but only a few truly know the root cause and the origins. Other conspiracy theories have connected the UN bomb blast to Al-Quaeda's desire to establish an operating base in Nigeria.

Many Nigerians also believe the attacks are sponsored from within in a bid to divorce the forced marriage between the North and the "rich southern bride".

@ekt, I was so wrong cos I didn't know of those writings and I thought he was a successful career person. I've seen now that education can not cure the madness associated with Sharia.

Just yesterday I began to think that the same thing that pushed Abdulmutallab (with all his "education" and father's wealth influence) is thae same thing pushing Sanusi today. I used to think Sanusi will make a perfect president after he took on the house members but now I can see that there is some strange force pushing these folks. Something is terribly wrong with this Sharia law that is making human beings act like demons.

I share your thoughts Obinoscopy. That is the ultimate goal. These boys want their own country.
