PoliticsFighting Corruption In Nigeria by egin(op): 2:08am On Aug 15, 2008
Can fellow Nairalanders come up with a list of Nigerians sent to prison (6 months or more) for stealing public fund since 1960?
This will show the world how serious the goverment is in fighting this scourge called corruption.

Money back guarantee? What on earth for?
You're being offered a free demo, if you don't like it, simply don't buy!
Money back is usually if the item is broken, or not as described. Not because you decide you don't like the product!

Yes you can make a return if you do not like the product. No question asked!

Elosela,

Those pictures are mischievious. There are such sights in all parts of the world. Do they highlight such slums? No. Why? Because they deliberately project good national image. Why not advertise the good sides, not the bad of Lagos?

My only problem with Nigerians is we supply western propagandists with materials to run us down. It is not patriotic and nationalistic.

Let us join hands to stop this current listing of Nigeria in every worst project in the world. there is no country like Nigeria.
I totally agree with you. There is indeed "no other country like Nigeria" on the surface of this earth.

You can start a thread that shows the "good side of Lagos" if there is one.

@eGIN
well I see u as a 'DAGBORU' .Since u started ds thread, I perceived a man passionate about failure in all its ramifications.

I wanted to sell the idea of nation-building through positive vibrations, and pronouncements providing living examples to situations in Nigeria.Yet, all u want to say na 'lack of visionary leaders'.You're a pessimist.

Read through my submissions on ds thread of urs and educate your debased mind.

@Egin,Egin,Egin,
Ow many times i call u cry

You CLAIM NOT TO KNOW WHERE You CONDEMN YA COUNTRY.
'
d person wey shit don forget, but we wey dey pack am no go gree'

You started mis-representing and condemning Nigeria as a whole with the Opening Topic, your Ugly pics, n comparative great shots of God knows where.

You want those visionary leaders u've clamoured for to come down from heaven huh.

In the History of the USA, did Abraham Lincoln, write or post in any journal 'Ugly side of Illinois'

You're part of those visionary leaders and u need to brace up for that role.
Why can't you leave the US or any of the developed nations out of this and focus on Nigeria.
Whatever is done to develop Nigeria will be part of history but so far not much is been done to develop the country and the Nigerian people despite our enormous resources. I still stand by my point, we need visionary leaders. I did not condemn Nigeria. Read the thread again or ask somebody to do that for you.
PoliticsRe: "didn't Approve Africom In Nigeria", Says Yar'adua by egin(m): 8:45pm On Dec 18, 2007
I think Nigeria will not even be on top of the list of countries to be considered in Africa based on the total lack of infrastructures. They might have to come with everything to make life worthwhile and comfortable for the personnel that would live at the base. That is if one is actually needed.
PoliticsRe: "didn't Approve Africom In Nigeria", Says Yar'adua by egin(m): 3:19pm On Dec 18, 2007
They need Nigeria but they don't need to establish base in Nigeria, though this would be idea, but very close that 'war planes can go and return within max 2hrs

Try to get the facts right.
There are planes that can fly half way round the world just to carry out a mission.
If setting up the command requires a base in Africa which I don't think, then many
African countries will be praying to have the base.
PoliticsRe: "didn't Approve Africom In Nigeria", Says Yar'adua by egin(m): 12:48pm On Dec 18, 2007
The US does not need Nigeria to set up Africom if they really want do it.
There are 52 or 56 countries they can talk to.

Egin,

From what I feel about your user name, you must be from Ondo Town. When people like you condemn Nigeria, how can things get better. The US did not attain greatness overnite. Some of us still believe in Nigeria and know that Nigeria will be better. Its would have been better if you come and lets reshape Nigeria together. I believe that GOD is passing Nigeria at the moment.
Can you tell meanwhere in this thread where I condemned Nigeria? I only asked you to judge.
Your point about the US does not hold water. I have been hearing that since I was a teenager. Nigeria is a young nation. We are 47 years old - those are some of the  reasons some shallow thinking people will want you believe are responsible for Nigeria's underdevelopment.
God is not going to come down to improve things in Nigeria. We need visionary leaders that mean well for Nigeria and Nigerians. Where I come does not really matter.

TravelRe: Pictures Of The Week (Ugly Side Of Lagos) by egin(op): 6:03am On Dec 12, 2007
Nigeria as a country that needs total turnaround and there is very little that poor individuals can do.
The turnaround will be spearheaded by the government through the provision of basic infrastructures like roads, electricity and water. It is then that we can start inviting people home and abroad to contribute their quota. This is the fact. Nigeria is a very rich country even with our population which I think is even a blessing. We need to acknowledge that we have problems, Identify the problems after then think of how to solve the problems.

See what other oil rich nations with visionary leaders are doing with their money.

What i would like to know is the motive behind the pasting of these photographs. Is it to make Nigerians look bad, to stir an uproar or cause a change. Cause i don't see the point.
I started the thread to let Nigerians and the world know how horrible the situation is in the mist of abundant resources. We are not asking for much, Basic things like roads, portable water and electricity. Other things will follow.
If this will cause a change, fine. That is what we are all praying for.

Can fellow Nairalanders please contribute to this list of shameless Nigerians who had the opportunity directly and indirectly to improve the state of healthcare but refused and instead prefer to travel overseas for their own medical treatment and that of their relatives? The good news is that they still die probably as a result of retribution for being selfish.
