Do you understand what engineering design is? It is about deploying scalable solutions in anything you do. I am doing the m&e DESIGN for a shopping complex. This is just one of the skills I picked over my career. Because i am a professional, I do not want a situation where, after we are done, the building will be defaced with 50 dishes. And wires running everywhere, and changes everytime a tenant left. Accordingly I have done my research. I have to them back up my research with a confirmation that the my solution can be deployed , operated and maintained locally. If this is over your empty head, it is understandable.
You are duller than the laziest technicians i have had to supervise, after all
Follow and learn. At the very least you will learn critical thinking . Not turn left turn right, go straight orders from owners corner and the eediot explained.after all this big grammars and innuendos, you're still a DStv installer.aponle ni fashion designer, tailor ni everybody Do you realize what I'm doing to you?you realize the power I have over you right now?what I'm doing to you? ornicus: So i'm working on a project for a shopping complex. my expectation is that the end users will all have dstv in their shops. since this is at the design stage, I want to do this properly, so we dont end with those horrible forests of dishes and wires running everywhere.
i had initially thought it was as simple as using coax splitters and amplifiers , but it turns out its more complicated than that.
theres a lot of different information out there, however the question which i have not been able to get an answer to - are there local firms that deploy communal/ multiunit dwelling dstv installations? there must be, but my searches are all turning up SA firms.
would appreciate if any such installers can come forward. thanks
thanks I thought you worked for an upstream sector.oh,now I Gerrit. You install dishes 'up' on roofs.that kinda adds up . |

https://www.nairaland.com/5544277/communal-dstv-installation
You know why I am asking the question there - because I am doing a complete design for a client on a project. And that is one aspect.
I have other jobs I am doing. I am debating whether to become a partner in a different company, or a manager in another. Please accept that you are not my mate, and you will never amount to anything more than a jealous kabu kabu driver. Fooking ediat. I even had the opportunity to return to my old company as a contract employee, but I did not want that.
If you like advise your friends or children to remain in dead end contract jobs. You will do that since you have nothing to offer on terms of skills or competence. Better face your driving. You will probably die there.
Foolish man
If I spam this board with jobs I have done since then you will start wailing again. so you're now a DStv installer? That's a big leap from the "upstream sector". ornicus: You are very very stupid, do you realise that? Anybody who has worked with contract employees will advise them the same way. For your information, foolish idiot, I entered my old company in 2006 and met a contract staff in the department. That person was a contact staff for the entire 14 years. As a member of a union, my salary increased every year, whether I had a promotion or not. This person received no such salary increases and almost no training This person was let go before me, and his severance was 3m max. No gratuity. This person was still a first tier contract staff. Some second tier contract staff hit 400m severance after close to 10 years of service
People work in contract positions on hope they will become full staff. If you do not have a very very strong willed boss who has your back, that one is story.
There was a colleague with hnd. He was told he could not be absorbed because he did not have a degree. They guy got a degree. Nothing. He got a masters, still nothing. He eventually quit in frustration.
I had a guy I was training. The guy was contract staff. I told him, once I am out, I am sure you will be made full staff. I am out and he is still contract.
In Nigerian run businesses a contract salary position is outright slavery.
It is only in upstream jobs where at least contract jobs have a reasonable salary, but no guarantee of permanence.
I am advising the person based on my direct experience that there is no future in a contract job. Incidentally, poco has made the exact same warning to others. It is even worse in the banking sector. Yet here you are running your dirty envious, broke player hata mouth at genuine advise
This is why I say you have the mentality of a driver. It comes through every time you try to make a point. You are a lower case fool and will always be one. yawn.self hyping and chest beating as usual. A typical gorilla. youre living a past time. You used to be success, now you're a low life.deal with it bro."when I was this, when I was that." What are you now?pride goeth before a fall. ornicus: all i can say is within the banking sector, you may remain in that position at that salary forever. even in other industries, where the understanding is that sit in this contract role until theres a vacancy - it doesnt work any more the question is what are the actual possibilities with uber? or are you just going to swap one dead end job for a different dead end job? coming from an unemployed low life, this is the highest level of hypocrisy. As it ever occurred to you that most drivers makes more than some bank managers take home?your level of low life is abysmal |

lin3r2: Hi guys I greet you all. All the elders on this forum, all protocols observed.
Please I'd like your unwatered down opinion on this matter regardless of how unpleasant it may sound. The Bible says "in the multitude of counsel there is safety."
I was driving a corolla 2004 a month back but had to return it to the owner because of the many issues it was having. The last being that the brakes failed.
Now, the owner bought the car Nigerian used for 1.25m with the odometer reading at its last which is 299999 (yea I know, right) anyways, when he told me about it and I took a look at it, I had my doubts the car would be a smooth ride on the platform but I still took it because I like trying things out before concluding.
Fast forward two weeks after putting the car on the platform and driving for just one week I noticed the car shorts oil which i mentioned this to the owner and managed it again for another week where it develop another issue. This time the issue had to do with the noise coming from the adjuster. I took the car to the client who then decided to change the engine and after engine change everything was smooth except for increased fuel consumption which was due to the fact that the car on idle mode read 2000rpm.
I took it back to him and the mechanic adjusted it and everything was fine. Though, prior to the change of engine the hub of the car, as I was made to understand by his mecahnic needed changing because it caused a loud wooing sound when I am on 60kmph and was somehow uncomfortable for riders but I totally ignored that.
The pattern became a week on, 4 days off at the workshop because a lot of issues were just coming up. Now the car started developing a fault where it goes off when I am on the move, that I have to shift to neutral while in motion to start the car again. Though God helped me all the times it stopped that I didn't have issues or accidents. I reported it to the owner who got it fixed by changing the remote box and fuse controller or something like that.
This change seemed to work for a while but later started again until God helped me to spot the issue that was causing it to stop through a rewire who was at shoprite trying to shop. The rewire came out from the mall and saw me trying to start the car and asked me to pop the bonnet which I did and he immediately touched somewhere on the fuse box and the car start immediately. I thanked him and he advised that the fault is an electrical issue and not something a mechanic would fix but a rewire I took his number and thanked him again. By the way, this rewire was properly dressed and seemed like someone who was making good money from his job.
While I was wondering what that rewire at shoprite must have touched to make the car start, I later realized that there was this fuse that is labeled 40 that always go hot because it was fused using a wrap of wires. All I had to do when the car stopped was removed the fuse and change the position the other way and voila! The car comes on.
The last time I drove the car was when it failed break on my way to lekki with a rider in it. Though the rider didn't know what happened but after I dropped the rider, I just jejely took the car back to the owner. I told the owner to change all the faulty parts and fix all the issues before the car can work on the platform because the car was now smooth driving after the engine change save for all those small issues that could take a man's life.
The reason for this long epistle is to give a general idea of the cars history which would enable you all make your suggestions.
The owner has fixed everything wrong with the car and done some body work as well. Repairs has cost him over 400k. Now he wants to sell the car out rightly or hire purchase.
Now my questions 1. Would it be wise to even consider this same car for hire purchase?
2. If yes, given all that has happened and the amount of money that has gone into repairs, how much can this car go for hire purchase if at all?
Please your candid advise and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks
Cc: GazzuZZZ @tojaah my guy @radauto and all other bosses.
Thanks the devil you know bro.go for it if terms and conditions are favourable.besides, your partner's seems a reasonable man. |

My view Taxify (bolt) shitty app, no good customer service, Driver is not important to them all they care about is riders If opay can do a good job in these areas taxify (bolt) is good as dead.
On the other hand
Uber With opay on boarding and their incentive on riders, uber will be comatose for a while cos opay go take all the customer. Uber been uber will come back strong after opay has exhaust all its resources.

If one platform goes, another comes, drivers go always dey okay and make their money because any platform that doesn't favour drivers will be abandoned by the drivers and can't work without drivers which inherently means it dies in no time the driver is king, bae, and bride.Ocar's entry has defeated some peeps arguement here about drivers relevance in the hailing business.nobody is going to dobale for any taxi park chairman. Seriously I don't undastand how people double count in this biz.
Until you deduct money for fuel , WC wud amount to like 22-24k. You can't claim income DTS used up in d biz process. In BTW, the guy self is still adding Tolls as part of his earnings, money you already gave LCC. He is still adding it as his income.
That's was how 2 ladies yestday told me an uber guy told them he makes 15k daily.
I was like 15k gross or net, they said 15k net, I was like maybe he is just trying to impress them .
That's like 90k net income evertwek, that's means he is doing like 140k ! every week. Haba , is he carrying ghosts or how ?
I just let go. Wen dem still dy insist. many peeps have been here in the past sugaring their earnings and making hard working folks look lazy.my brother, they fizzled out before you know it.
