The family of a former finance minister, Nenadi Usman, has written the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over alleged murder of the former Minister’s 31-year-old daughter, Anita Akapson. The family’s petition was signed by their lawyer , Kayode Ajulo, alleging that Anita “was trailed, targeted, intercepted, her vehicle brushed, blocked and shot at close range by a police officer at Katampe District, Abuja.” There have been reports that Akapson, who recently returned to Nigeria after her university education in the United Kingdom, was shot dead by a Superintendent of Police on around 11 pm on Saturday. She was driving out of her house at Katampe Extension by Gwarimpa Estate in a Honda Accord car when she met her death. Policemen were said to have surrounded the Akapson’s building and were lying in wait for a fleeing armed robbery suspect when the woman drove out of the compound. But the family said Akapson was shot in the stomach after the police blocked her car and punctured the tyres with several bullets. The lawyer to the family, Ajulo, in the petition demanded a thorough investigation into the killing, stating that Akapson’s murderers were being shielded by the police authorities. Ajulo hinted that Usman was apprehensive that the murder might have political undertones on account of her position as a member of the leading opposition party in the country. The petition read in part, “The circumstances of the trailing, tracking and gruesome murder of the deceased who had a strong affinity with Senator Nenadi Usman, a member of the leading opposition political party in Nigeria, and who is presently facing continuous prosecutions from the state, calls for thorough and comprehensive investigation. “Given the level of intimidation of opposition by the instrumentalities of the state, our clients are worried as to the intent or possible calculated assassination of the deceased to further cause anguish to the family.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/10/16/family-kicks-police-shoots-kills-ex-ministers-daughter-abuja/amp/ |

deomelo:Maybe you didn't read what you copied before you pasted that is why you didn't notice that the misery index you had pasted nothing to do with NBS...... |
deomelo:All these fake news, dumb pseudo blogging sites, what is misery index again? ![]() So rivers state is in misery, while borno, benue, plateau and yobe are in ectasy? Nonsense and ingredient.... ![]() |
sokera:No!! It is you that it will shock, by then you will blame the results on corruption, rigging and vote buying. Meanwhile a man whose most aggressive campaign is taking place abroad and on the pages of social media, in a country where the critical mass of voters don't even know what Sahara reporters is, nor know what Facebook or twitter is, is doomed to lose before he even started. Mark my words, it will steer you aright when the results eventually surface. |
sokera:They say what the elders see sitting down, even the youths can't see from the top of an iroko tree. You are a yoruba man, but have forgotten the simple courtesies embedded in your roots. You say you want to be President, luckily for you the first President in this era is an omoluabi, go and consult with him and tap from the root of wisdom, you say no. Instead you choose to insult him and call him names, a man old enough to be your grand father. And then you think you will even be local government chairman? You don't interact nor mingle with the local political environment or arena in any way. You don't consult with any past head of state or strong political agitators , instead you choose to insult them - forgetting that their supporters are also registered voters. As I speak to you, youths in Diaspora are busy campaigning for sowore on the streets of chicago and newyork, meanwhile nobody know sowore for balogun market not to talk of Oshodi as E dey hot. He came to Nigeria and has been parading campuses to make noise and thinks that he is conducting electoral campaign. Going on social media to talk trash about people whose shoe lactchet he is not worthy to photograph let alone tie. Even if he has no respect for karma, let respect for elders be his guide and social-cultural/moral compass. Las las, his presidential poll result nationwide go be like jamb score. You are free to contribute your PVC to his cause. |

sokera:Sincerely how did I know they were investigating Benue and Akwa ibom? Because right after they announced they were investigating Akwa ibom and Benue state, both state treasuries were frozen, and they had no publicly available leads. In this case, which is the kano state government, they had this lead, which is even on youtube as we speak, but they didnt rush to announce nor freeze any accounts Infact, intel available to me suggests, that they had the videos over 2 weeks ago, but announced no investigation . President Buhari himself saw this videos exactly 6days ago at state house (based on the Intel leaked to me by a friend and former colleague), yet nothing has been formally announced. Why? I will tell you why? In every Presidential election, there are 3 prized jewel as far as the ballot is concerned. Rivers State, Lagos State and Kano. River State is firmly under wike's/PDP's grip, Lagos is firmly under tinubu's grip, Kano is shaking. APC used to be in full control of Kano whe kwakwanso was with APC, now that he left APC, Kano is not sure like before, to affect or tamper with the current APC structure which is tied to Ganduje, may weaken their chances in kano at the polls, that is why Ganduje's case is a serious matter that they need serious diplomacy to handle. Don't be surprised, that they will never do anything to Ganduje until after the elections, to avoid stories that touch potential ballot papers, that is if they even have any intention to do anything. |
sokera:The difference between that scenerio and mine was that fayose's personal bank accounts were frozen, in my scenerio State government accounts were frozen (as in state treasury itself). The court held in the case of fayose, that he was immune from prosecution as a sitting governor, hence freezing his personal accounts was unwarranted. In the case of Benue which is much more recent than Fayose's case, the court held that EFCC had the right to investigate the activities of a state government. Why are they not eager to investigate the activities of the Kano state government, like they are currently doing for Akwa ibom and Benue? |
7Alexander:They can be prosecuted after they handover, afterall, he can only be governor for 8years. Better gather your facts early and preserve them, before he tampers with whatever hard evidence. In any case, if the state house of assembly isn't dead. They can raise a committee to investigate it. And if Ganduje is found guilty, impeach him and hand him over the authorities for prosecution. |
sokera:But EFCC Froze the accounts of the Benue state and Akwa ibom state government and the reason they gave was that both governors were under investigation. Infact, the benue state government challenged this reason in court, and the court ruled that indeed the EFCC has powers to investigate a state government's activities. What has changed between then and now? Or is it because it is now an APC governor that ought to be investigated and not a PDP governor? |
HungerBAD:Taaa.......Point of correction. This kind disgrace is not national, it is local, in short it is a "made in kano" disgrace. Of the Gandujiyya type........ ![]() Nigerians are not that disgraceful..... ![]() |
Even the dead cannot have peace in this country. Which kind matter be this.... ![]() |
Olohunjedalo:Well the people who recorded the video said it was bribe and they were the ones who played the background music. If you take out the sound, most likely you will get the confirmation you so unwillingly seek. Except ganduje can explain that he was simply collecting money he gave his friend to keep for him, its probably what the source of the video called it, a bribe. |
E for try e self, make E name go find itself for inside travel ban list.......... ![]() ![]() |

PrecisionFx:I know. She is uninterested in politics, which is why in my proposal I asked that the assignment to convince her to accept the nomination should go to Obasanjo. Once her father prays for her and tells her to accept, she will accept. |
Hmmmmm! So na the man na E nack the 2 chambers there, why E no get health problem..... ![]() Any way, RIP to the dead |
PrecisionFx:Bro, that is an assumption. I never mentioned Yoruba in my comment, so where did you get that idea from? ![]() I sent my proposal to Alhaji and I proposed Dr Nkonjo Iweala as a suitable candidate. It would have been a plus for Nigerian women, it will also be used to extract internationally both endorsements and seed fund5d from IFOs (international Finance Organisations) and world leaders. Plus and more importantly for alhaji, it will automatically extract an endorsement from Obasanjo as well as force him to work for the PDP/Atiku. I don't know why Alhaji did this but let me assume he knows what he was doing..... ![]() Modified: If senate President is their problem, then they can feature her name to represent South-south, after all technically she is from Ogwashi-ukwu - the igbo speaking part - in delta state, her husband is from Abia. Then Ekweremadu could have gotten his Senate Presidency opportunity. |
Good.....Na E be say na bingo and tambolo bite na E remain........ ![]() |
