anthonyuncle:Since they chose the bear over a man, they have been declared missing |
Localgrandpa:This statement infers that's it likely that you are single and not married. When I say married, I mean a married man living with his family. Else, you would have known that it is impossible to build a home and raise children properly without a woman. If the woman decides that you are not going to be part of the child's life, so shall it be. Because in all Marital scenarios, a man is guilty until proven innocent. Also a woman is innocent until proven guilty. For a man to come to seek his child, it tells you that even though he isn't living with the child, he has concern for such a child. He needs nothing from such a child, it's the child that needs things from him. Except in a case where a man is financially stable enough to legally fight for the right to access a child, once the mother decides you won't see the child, it's finished. Take a look at this case for instance, shouldn't a woman encourage a son to respect the father regardless of what transpired between father & mother? That alone tells me all I need to know this woman. And if care isn't taken a circle of abuse will start, before you know, that boy will start leaning towards women who don't care about honouring father's because he has been groomed by his mother to do so. That's how generations of broken homes start, because a woman may have decided that he doesn't deserve to access the child as a father. We have seen this circles repeat themselves. Women don't have it in them to raise strong, disciplined and stable men without father figures...... |

Newlymarried:She is unwise. Nowhere in the constitution is it unlawful to sing the old anthem.... Neither does the constitution anywhere set a penalty for not singing or not standing when an anthem is Sung. It is an act of respect not an obligation by law..... She is highly uneducated on matters of the law |

JB256:What is the payback period? When should the person offering the loan expect their cash returned latest? You just say you need a loan with no details attached that will be of interest to a potential creditor.....life doesn't work that way. |
TRAPLORD13:Baba na Urgent 10k oooh! Urgent 10k na E yobe dey pay... ![]() |
Agadinaagwuofe:I doubt that. He took minimum wage to #40,000 and has never defaulted. Also invoices at local government levels, taxes, tickets have gone up... So they are definitely raising the money in the state somehow.... He has been paying 40k without issue, I think 70k won't be a problem. Where wahala will start is if FG finally bows to pressure from Labour and make minimum wage #100,000. That's where I will fear for Edo not 70k, 70k is doable, its just that he will collect the money one way or another through tax but its doable. Like right now Ring road to GRA is #500 despite say fuel prices dropped a little..... So he will simply squeeze Peter and pay Paul. At least that's better that squeeze Peter and send the money to their personal account overseas |
Almaigaa:Stop deceiving Nigerians all in the name of Cheap politics of bitterness. Your narrative is even proof that you know nothing about Edo, are not resident in Edo and therefore are just on a fishing expedition of deception. One of the first things that the current governor on the assumption of office did was the introduction of the contributory pension scheme which is regulated by Federal Pension laws.... Therefore Pensioneers receive their pension directly from Pension Fund Administrators (PFA's) which are private companies & not from state government. So how can Edo state be owing pension? See how obvious your ignorance is....? Edo State government is owing nobody pension..... Secondly, the news cutout you posted from channels TV has nothing to do with pension but gratuity. That's gratuity payment arrears that predates this Administration. When Oshiomole became governor he inherited gratuity arrears from Osaremen Osunbur dating back to 1983. He paid them uptill year 2000 and stopped.... That's why they took the protest to Obaseki to please continue the balance payment. In fact, the Chairman of Edo state pensioners during their last protest categorically said that they have been receiving pension without hitches, that their concern is that after Obaseki goes, they are not sure if the next governor will be consistent as he is; hence the protest for the gratuity arrears payment to be sped up..... In case you are not aware; gratuity is not pension. Gratuity (under the old legacy system, before the introduction of Contributory Pension Scheme, CPS) is the bulk sum that is paid to you after you retire which is supposed to cover you for a period of 6months to a year..... After that monthly pension payments begin to come in... Under the New CPS, the state government gives your money to PFAs, you can call them pension banks, when you retire, you decide how they pay you. After retirement, you do revalidation of your info with them & they pay you 25% of the total sum deposited by both you & the state. Then you decide how the balance is paid to you either through annuity or pre-programed instalmental payments. The way CPS works, during your service years, the state pays a Percentage of your salary every month, you also pay a percentage of your Salary monthly through deductions to a PFA of your choice. The PFA uses your money to do business & renders accounts to you on monthly & annual basis. By the time you retire, you go to them & do revalidation & capturing & collect your money. The state isn't involved in the process at all.... |

kedeojo:Abeg no vex? Which ugbowo? Is 19th inside that Ugbowo that you are mentioning so? |
jmoore:From reports this thing is becoming too prevalent in Ubiaja and Okpella. The thing is just nonsense. And most of the time the road to their dens are littered with police & military Check points. Something isn't right |
EmperorCaesar:The EFCC chairman is the architect of his own demise in this matter. He is the biggest loud mouth when it comes to investigations.... So he should set example by shutting up his big bigoted mouth |
God1000:Both her and the people giving her money are fools. Even if she goes to court, as long as the kids are below 18years and the husband is giving her money for upkeep, she will lose that case. No sensible judge will allow her to continue posting video of her kids twerking on the internet. If she posted videos of her kids discussing educational & informational content, it will definitely be impossible for any judge to stop it. But little kids twerking? Wetin do her yansh? Her Yansh is big enough for the whole family, she should go and twerk and leave the kids alone jooor. Rubbish |
DaddyCoool:Don't say that ooo I know of folks who hold fake proposals with ring, roses, friends held in expensive hotels just to get a girl to sleep with them. At a time, I know a guy who has 5 different rings he use to propose just to get some koochi . Later you will hear, my mummy said we forbid to marry Edo, or my family church Pastor say you people have Spiritual problem because someone in your family used to serve juju |
asangoli:No be only here oooh. They should go to Iponri under bridge |

3ple9iner:I believe you are not correct, even the lagos state government has come out to debunk this. Lagos state increase their wage bill by #35k making it #70,000. When the press reported that Lagos was paying minimum wage of #70,000, the lagos state government said it was a lie. That they only boosted their minimum wage with #35,000 pending when Federal government sets the new minimum wage...... Only Edo announce, both the launching of the new secretariat/Labour house named after Adams Oshiomole & the increment of minimum wage to #70,000 in a single event.... |
ddippset:I sense you have trust issues when it comes to politicians in Nigeria. You are not alone there, but try and be a little rational & logical in your observations so that your opinions aren't coloured by bias.... The increment is good for the workers, I don't expect you to appreciate it because you are not working in the civil service in Edo state.... Implementation is from May 1, which means from May 28th he will start paying. Obaseki will be out by January, so he will be carrying the burden of paying till then... He isn’t transferring anything, if he had copied Oshiomole's style and set implementation to after he has left office, I will definitely join you in condemning Obaseki. Go & check my posts on Nairaland, when Oyetola (Former Governor of Osun) of the APC increased the Salaries of workers & employed thousands of new workers and made changes to his cabinet after APC lost to PDP at the election, I condemned it. Especially when the state was owing backlog and couldn't afford to pay the existing wage then. They did it to punish Governor Adeleke, even NLC (state and National) condemned Oyetola..... Remember, the current increment became necessary after the removal of subsidy by the FG on May 1 2023, that pushed up the pump price of fuel & subsequently sent the nation into spiralling inflation.... Between May 29, 2023 when Tinubu ended subsidy and inadvertently increased cost of living and May 1, 2024 when Obaseki increased salary is 11 months..... My question is this, is it awkward for a governor to use 11 months to prepare to increase minimum wage in the state by 75%? Must he revert the minimum wage increment in the state to satisfy the opposition at the expense of the workers welfare? Shouldn't he be commended for increasing minimum to #70,000 from #40,000 as opposed to FG that gave a maximum increase of just 35% from #30,000 across all salary scales? Mind you he took minimum wage from #30,000 to #40,000 and he paid it promptly without owing once (keep in mind that his predecessor, Adams Oshiomole was owing almost 2years salary when obaseki took over. He paid backlogs and increased it to #40,000 and still yet), opposition said don't mind him, he is a useless man, he thinks he can deceive the people ( It wasnt even election season when he increased it). He has now increased it to #70,000, "don't mind him, he thinks he can deceive the people".....when will the people be eventually convinced that workers welfare is a priority for him.... And who are the people by the way? The workers he is paying? He wants to deceive the workers by paying them a higher wage? He introduced Contributory pension system & ever since Edo state has never owed gratuity, "don't mind Obaseki, he think he can deceive the people".... Chaai! Nigerians dey forbid better thing, that is why God allowed Buhari enter power. If not, we for still dey talk say PDP na the problem for this country |
ddippset:The point is to observe progress, no matter how little & commend it. When you appreciate good things people do, no matter how little, you motivate them to strive to do more/better. Or don't you think so? |
vastolord4:I doubt you are even on ground in benin-city, let alone Edo state. Else you would have know that transportation via the Edo state "Comrade" buses had been made free.... From June year till last April, people move freely oin Edo within benin metropolis, to as far as Auchi, Okpella, Uromi, Ekpoma Irrua in Edo state free of charge. That was one of the palliatives given to the dear people of Edo state, both Civil Servants and private workers alike. Na una dey complain say Obaseki has done nothing, if E do, una go say E get agenda, E mind no pure that na why E do am.... Who swear for una? |
ddippset:He is still better than Oshiomole who increased minimum wage while he was about to leave and set implementation to when he will be out of office. Obaseki is governor officially till end if the year. The first payment of #70,000 minimum wage will take place May 28. Wait till them before cursing his efforts at blessing edo state workers, wa do do!! |

theowane:Shebi FG has announced minimum wage now. The highest increment is 35% across different parts Salary scales. So even FG proposal puts the minimum wage at #40,000 Max.... Isn't this poor compared to #70k announced by Obaseki? Or should he downgrade the amount to suit your preference/requirement? |
theowane:At least in the absence of a formal increase as demanded by Labour, every plus is welcome now. Abi workers should be denied access to any relief until Labour/FG formally conclude? |
meobizy:He set implementation to May 1st. That means he will kick off payment himself. When Oshiomole increased his own during his tenure, he set implementation to after his left office . Oshiomole was even owing arrears when he increased it.... So at least for now Obaseki is better than him in this regard.... |
Kobicove:Ask Edo civil Servants. When he became governor, he increased minimum wage to #40k from #30k oshiomole pegged it. He paid 2 years back log of salary arrears (mind you oshiomole increased it close to elections, on his way out and was even owing as at when he increased it.) Today in Edo, before the 28th of every month, salary alert has entered & he even pays 23th month. Abeg the man has been relatively consistent in workers welfare.... Let's give him his flowers there |
vastolord4:See naysayers!! In Edo, before the 28th of each month, salary alert has entered. Obaseki is not in the business of owing gbese like his predecessor |
vowiski:Don't mind them. Oshiomole increased minimum wage to #30k and never paid it. He was owing worker's over 18months salaryas at the time he increased it... They never mentioned election gimmick then oooh Obaseki increased it to #40k and before the 28th of every month, salary alert has entered.... Celebrate what is good & condemn what isn't good. For where! Everything Obaseki does has evil motive.... Them no well at all |

let's blame Peter obi
