From time in memorial the nigeria music industry has celebrated artistes know for their intelligence and well written lyrics(the likes of Fela, rakimono,majek fasek,sunny Ade,essien igbokwe,. But these days all we hear is fast tracks with noisy banging party songs with very poor lyrical content. So my question now is that at what point did it all go wrong.. Was it after the reign of makossa (awilo and magic system era) that got nigerians crazy dancing without actually knowing the meaning of what they are dancing to or was it when kennis music started promoting idris Abdukareem over more talented and classical artistes!!! |
