Crvrider: People are just so quick to talk about taking ones car off the platform. Do you guys think uber will succeed without the drivers? Jeez. Unfortunately, drivers don’t understand how much power they have. I don’t think 3 to 5 days of not driving would kill any driver, but 3 to 5 days of zero income and Uber would be forced to acquiesce to drivers’ requests. |

pope191: Sorry boss... Please how did it happen? It was one yeye Friday that 3MB was completely blocked (I think a tanker spilled its content on Otedola bridge). Was inbound island around gbagada, with an Arab rider. Noticed the car ahead of me was being robbed and everybody was just minding their business (me included). Dude walked up to my car and was about to break my window with his gun, I jejely rolled down and he said “wey your phone”, the smell of weed on him was so strong and I decided it wasn’t worth it to argue with him. He turned to my rider and asked him the for his phone too, Guy say him no get phone, the nigga raised his gun to the window.. “you want make I shoot you”? Rider started to panic, that’s when my anger kicked in. I just told him say shebi him don collect one phone, make him Dey go now, say the guy no get phone true true. At that point, the people in the car ahead of me started shouting “ole ole”. Nigga crossed over to a waiting biked and zoomed off. My rider asked what transpired between us and I told him. He was really appreciative, said I saved his life. He was really visibly shaken. Asked if he could smoke to calm his nerve, I obliged. Dropped him off at Saka Tinubu, guy pleasantly surprised me with $100, say make we share the loss. |

donfortune48: My first ever trip to satellite. I swimmed 27 rivers. Trip ended 2800. Rider was so happy. Gave me 3k.
I got stuck on my way out, people pushed it out after agreeing to pay 2k. Since then, I don't know how satellite town looks like.
No amount will ever take my car to that place ever again. We all have our horror stories. Been robbed at 8:45pm, just by Dominos in Gbagada while on a trip |

Na Lagos we Dey, if the road isn’t “that bad”, I’ll go. If I come across a road I feel I cannot ply, I simply tell rider that I cannot go beyond where I don reach and end the trip. That has happened twice. I left out satellite town and Igando |

donfortune48: I was like you in my first 3months.
But this last month eeh!! I can't even tolerate nonsense.
Surprisingly, my ratings have jumped to 4.79 on Uber and 4.93 on taxify.
Something I deemed impossible in my first 3months. I don’t drive full time though. I don’t care about ratings, I just drive, if rider like, make e dash me 0 star.... but my rating has never dropped below 4.82 |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Eizenburg: 7:52pm On Oct 21, 2019 |
ndubuis: lol. I'm sorry but this does not make sense. The strategy seem worse. You are obviously doing the same thing as others but with a more complicated approach. Except the driver forgets to ask, only then can this be applied. It comes with a cost, embarrassing yourself before a rider, having to plead for his or her understanding and bearing the cost of starting a trip that you were not paid for. The environment we live in demands you ASk where a rider is going before pick up or before starting a trip. Even though I don't do it all the time, especially in the early morning hours. It's one risk that is avoidable. End of story. In my 3 months of ehailing, I’ve never asked a rider where he/she is going. Only requests I’ve had to cancel were rider no shows. |
