Jibson999:
Hi guys, keep up the nice work. Here are my stats. March last year i weighed 70kg, but by february this year i weighed 81kg, so i started jogging for lyk 20-25 mins. Now i weigh 79kg but i'm looking forward to going back to 70. I dont know if i can do this diet stuff, but if i may ask whichone (jogging or dieting) makes u lose weight more ?
Both are complimentary. Exercise helps you burn fat but you also need to eat the right foods. If you exercise but end up eating more than you expend, you will not lose weight. Personally I don't like the word diet, I prefer 'eating clean' grin i.e. eating healthy foods in the right proportions.

tender your pic as the evidence. LOL
seriously? shocked LOL
Yes seriously. I already have a lower red lip from birth but it started going dark, then I saw this tip in the fashion section and tried it out. my lip is brighter and redder and so smooth cheesy. The brushing should not wound the lip o! Just gently, like exfoliating skin. but I do not think this will work if there was no red to begin with.

Hello women,
What are the plans for this weekend? I am just staying home going to try and cook some yoruba stew that they call designer stew as long as nobody calls Fire service while i am bleaching the oil! grin You all have a nice weekend.
I plan to exercise all the cake I ate this week out of my body grin and then clean up my house and see if I'll have time to watch 'Heroes'

Question: for someone who is ttc, does it make sense to drink slim tea huh

sTay of the starch, the carbs and the oil, there isnt actually much you can eat! Leafy vegetables and lean meat is fine, go ahead and prepare stews as normal but with little or no oil and take them alone without the normal solids, garri is quite good for weight loss too soo long as it isnt too much or taken with the normal junk smoked fish and grilled plaintain is great too, you can take that with veg. Eko or ogi is very good food as well. Beans is still high in carbs so u should be weary of quantity. Pumpkin is also very nice and its not starchy at all, you can eat boiled egg etc etc

whatever you do DO NOT eat rice!!! replace it with MINUTE amounts of cous cous, try and get some lettuce carrots cabbage etc they are very low in calories. Eat plenty of fruits for snacking, dont eat nuts. Drink ALOT of water esp before you begin to eat, it will reduce your intake and you will feel fuller quicker., if you take time to explore the different foods Nigeria has to offer im sure you will come accross other healthy options
Why now?(about the rice) What is cous cous?

No ijebu garri for east cry

no eba is far from ok, garri is good because of the high water content, you will tend to drink more water than the garri you consume. reason why the children in secondary school are always soo skinny
Ok which is better? White or yellow garri?
FoodRe: Nigerian Foods That One Can Eat If Watching Weight by Ejadamen(f): 8:43pm On May 26, 2010
I thought one should avoid garri, how does garri help lose weight and does that mean eba is okay?

@ stages dnt sleep on your back o! If you really want to then you need plenty pillows to elevate you so that you're lying on your back but elevated like in a hospital bed. That will be a good alternate sleeping position.

Update: my period is here again cry

From Romeo
Why do you need to time yourself? The skipping is not meant to be a time trial. Also, skipping in bits -10 reps, resting, then repeating the process is merely diluting your efforts. Its like walking 10steps, resting, then repeating same pattern.
Any cardio exercise needed to burn fat has to be continuous for a min of 30 mins, and max of 1hr.

Also, calories burnt is a meaningless statistic. The value of the amount of calories burnt varies based on whether the calorie is from blood sugar, muscle glycogen, or fat - That is why any aerobic exercise, at medium to high intensity, needs to be for a min of 30mins. It takes that long for your body to go into the "fat burning phase". This can only happen with a exercise done for a min of 30mins.
Also whilst skipping is good, it cannot be done for a long time, as your calf muscles will give out long before you exceed your cardiovascular capacity. See skipping for what it is - an additional supplement to a cardio program. If i were you, i would find something else to add to the program.

Skip at a medium intensity till you cannot continue any longer. Take a mental note of how many skips it takes, and how long. Put your focus on increasing the number of skips done in one continuous session, rather than the time it takes.

Answer from me:
That was discouraging and I thought I only needed to skip for my cardio. Sigh! I'll work on adding more to my cardio regimen. Oh I already know how long I can skip for before giving up. I can skip 200 at a go and then I have to stop.

I have a question. How do I time myself when skipping. I skip 1000. Do I time only when skipping and turn the timer off while resting during intervals or do I leave the timer running till I finish skipping. I skip 10 reps of 100 and usually rest for 1-2 mins in between reps. I need this to effectively calculate calories burnt.
