Both my parents are Edo,needless to say I was put off Edo men for life but some are good^{(e.g. my dad )}. Most Edo men are very jealous, domineering and have terrible attitudes to women I guess you could call that good in that the man wants the woman all to himself


Ok ok not to scare you,if he respects your sis and he treats the women in his life nice then cool. I think your sis should introduce the guy to your family now(let him visit etc) so all the drama can start now before December and then you guys will know how to tackle it. My advice is to consume Soya is low quantities – if you have to. Also to avoid it totally if you are trying to conceive, pregnant or a nursing mother. In addition, avoid giving your child Soya Formula.

Why I would like to understand please. I have never taken soya in my life. I just bought horlicks which has traces of soya in it but I read this and now I am wondering.

I think a wife should dress as she pleases(in line with her husband's desires,wack or not) but not skimpy. Her husband might like the backless halter neck top and so what? Why should anyone dictate what a woman should wear(especially an outsider)? If she has the body to rock it, let her. I've seen men who like their wives to dress sexy not hoe-ish but sexy,there's a difference. I've seen men who don't like their wives in make-up and cute clothes. People are different. What looks weird to one might work for another.

sori since its oil u should use it to seal, your moisturiser should be of a lotion consistency.

It's not an oil,it was a lotion but I'll check it out. I remember being impressed with some of the ingredients like coconut oil, jojoba oil etc. I use ORS olive oil creme to moisturize my hair and its a lotion not an oil even with the name. Oh well I'll check this out cos some of the wonderful products you guys are mentioning are hard to find in coal city.

Ladies if you have split ends the best way to take care of them is to cut them off,if not it will travel all the way down to the roots and break it off.to avoid future reoccurence try the following tips.
1.Try not to over manipulate your hair too much,use wide tooth combs on your hair and boar bristle brushes.
2.If your hair is shoulder length,put it in an updo to avoid it brushing against your cloths,the friction will cause your hair to split and break.
3.Always tie your hair with a silk scarf or bonnet before going to bed at night to avoid tangles and friction against your pillow.
4.Finaly avoid or use heat sparingly,instead of blow dryers and flat iron try to rollerset your hair,that way your tips are hidden during the drying process.

i remember emily millionier[b],i am sure the ingredients include petroleum and mineral oil[/b] which only coat the hair rather than penetrate which is not good for your hair,so i dont advice you use it,but it would be a moisturiser any way.
@ bluespice i have been using mane and tail for a few months,i wouldnt say it helps with growth,but if u have thin hair it will definately give it volume and strenght because it has some light protein ingredients.you can get it at walgreens and at walmart in the pet section.

I checked, no petroleum. Not sure if there was mineral oil but will check again.

Anyway I finally read all 8 pages of this thread,whew! I admire the resilience of Arlington.

l could understand what you went through. sorry about your loss. On the irregularity of your period, when l had the last one in april, didnt see my first period till August, took me another 4 months i.e Dec to see another. lt was a cause of worry for me, becos l know it could be hard to conceive under that situation. In January l decided to go self medication (not advisable though) by taking some food supplements which corrected it and l took in, though it resulted in the last miscarriage. This time around my period came at the right time. l think evacuation does a kind distortion to the whole hormonal system. lt took a friend of mine 6months to see her first period after a miscarriage and another friend for the last two years hasn't seen her period before of an abortion.

lt is well dear, do whatever u can and leave the rest to God.

N/B. My doctor gave me a drug l bought 10k which he refused to disclose the name (cant just understand) to regularise the period, l took it for sometime and abandoned it, l couldnt just be taking what l dont know.

Hmm don't know whether to feel better or not. The miscarriage was the last day of October 2009,I bled through Nov and spotted through December. Saw my first period Jan this year and nothing since then. It's worrying. And before I took in last year I did not see my period from March 2008 till Oct 2008 before it regularized. Note that I do not take pills. I did tests and saw doctors,spent money only to be told nothing was wrong with me. In fact I plan to wait this out. I can't be wasting money. Or maybe I'll panic one day and run to the hospital.

I know what it feels like cos I've bn there.
Lost two pregnancies also at 8weeks but to God be the glory, I carried to term and was delivered of my lovely babies 2 weeks ago.

These are the steps I took:
Changed my doc,
Did hormonal assay,
Trusted God,
Cerclage
Prayedddddddddd!!!!!
A miracle atlast.

Hi all, this is a good thread. I had a miscarriage last year October at 5 months. Now doctor say I need a cerclage the next time I get pregnant. Itiade please what was the procedure like? Also since the miscarriage my period hasn't regularized but from the comments I read here it seems that it's normal.
@ my peace I am sorry for your loss,it is never a good experience. My miscarriage was due to premature rupture of the membrane. In fact the trauma took me off NL for a while. I resumed to meet this thread.

For all looking for children,I pray that we will receive our babies from God in Jesus name.

That's it! I'm going natural as soon as I get some new growth in my hair I relaxed recently and just hate my hair. I noticed that my natural hair responded to all the pampering better than relaxed hair.

Nope i didn't redo the braids at the edges, That's why i put up a picture of the braids when it was 2 months old and washed a couple of times. My hair do grow out but the braids don't drag, it does when i wash it but when dry it's pretty light weight BUT that also depends on the kind of attachment you use. Expression and Darlyn yaki are really light weight and also with the afikan attachment(can't remember the exact name).

If you swim, well if it's long braids then it might drag a lil bit except you braid it like a pony tail. If it's short then you have no problem.

My extension braids don't get messy, your hair might stand out as always so you just trim it off with scissors.
Here is a picture of my braid(2months old) and it's been washed regularly.
I don't get much of a split end honestly, i did when i use to relax my hair but not anymore.
You mosturize the hair and braid. I will look for pics online for my moisturizer.

Jellybean,did you redo the braids at the edges of your hair within that 2 months? Didn't the braids drag on your hair? I'm considering braiding and leaving it on for that length of time while washing, conditioning and moisturising but I swim like 3 times a week and I wonder if that will be possible.

I was all set to transition,then people around me started hollering. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to transition or BC my hair. So now I'm focused on pampering my hair and relaxing just 4 times a year. I saw a lady on hairlista with mid back length relaxed hair I shall get there.
