@ Arly did you take something sweet before the movement started? Read somewhere that sweet things and caffeine make babies move in the womb. Weekend was great just very very tiring.

Monday update - I am okay. I feel good. Got some relief from the back pain,it just stopped. Sleeping is getting harder and I am constantly shocked at how my center gravity has shifted plus the growing heaviness. I'm healthy and happy.

Thanks for the vid AqRiUs. I've done that type of loc before about 2yrs back. Had it in for 4-6 months(can't remember now) but I do remember how my hair looked after I took it out,horrible! But I think that was because I didn't know much about hair care then. I might try it again.

AqRiUs Age:
Braidlocs: A form of locs that are started, by using braids. Please keep in mind that you can only start the locs using this process, but you'll have to employ a different method (interlocking, twisting or palmrolling), to retighten (in other words, to loc the new growth) it. Braidlocs are done by braiding your hair, and leaving the braids in. In other words, you never take the braids out and then it locs that way. This is probably the easiest way to start your locs especially if you're starting them on your own. This is the most cost effective way and it requires no gel/beezwax/hairproducts. just time, and effort smiley. i fidn that braidslocs is better for smaller hair (not necessarily shorter hair, but smaller as in tiny locs as opposed to big-chunky ones. For the former, try interlocking). So, yes you have the right idea, Ejadamen, the lady did braidslocs. She cant rebraid the new growth so she'll have to try one of the other methods.
Thanks. I am interested in dreadlocs but only if I can get my hair back when I want to take them out.

@ modath,why would you want to unlearn good habits? Your friend not offering you water was going a bit to far,haba! Fact is we Nigerians have bad eating habits,period! Anyone going against the tide seems strange and begins to offend ONLY because it's strange. You have lost weight so your 'rules' are paying off. I bet your friends wish they had your discipline, I know I do. Er, about your daughter,maybe you can bend for her once in a while but not at the detriment of your health goals. Or you could pretend to eat it wink

modath:
@Sammie,
How are you doing now?,don't push it, don't even try to restrict calories,just eat healthy during your recuperation.your body needs it will appreciate it and pay you back when it up to it.take care.

@Romeo,
how are you,am back with my usual rants.
Observation 1:Amala and wheatmeal  never survives till daybreak after being made,but eba[yoruba white garri] will live till the fourth day before it start growing molds
2, i also observed that any period i make a regular meal of eba,i either stagnate or increase in weight no matter how much i exercise and eat well.but since i love love eba{especially 3-4 day old sour ones]i will have it just once a week.
What do you think.

N.B---I am turning into a nightmare,i was at a friend"s place yesterday and she didn't even offer  me WATER when i asked her why,she told me my rules are too much and without mincing words told me am a pain in the backside.i am now so obsessed with eating clean that my daughter offered a bite of her biscuit but i refused it,and it upset the little darling!!!!!!!How do i unlearn some of the things that are now an integral part of me.People talk to me plllllllllllsssssssssssssss.
grin grin grin grin couldn't help it,so funny grin grin grin

I saw sisterlocs on its website i think and fell in love with it and all the versatile styles until I read that it's permanent. To remove it one would have to cut it off shocked I'm not going to let my hair grow in sisterlocs for like 2 yrs and then cut my hard grown hair off! Is that fact or fiction?

I'm confused by all these many types of locs. Take braidlocs for instance,what is that? I saw a pic of it where a lady braided her hair into individual braids(no extensions) and left it and it became locs(is that how it works?) I'm wondering what happens to the new growth of hair after a while? Would sha re-braid? huh

It's easy honey, I call it by another name and the sides are just canerows. I love that the best, even the colour wont cause you problems later. kiss
What name do you call it by? Besides one needs some length to do that knot,right?

SA Goddess:
I have done henna, I like it because it not permanent and does not damage hair. . . . .why do you have to wait until you cut the hair Nerd? I used to put henna on my relaxed hair (chemically treated) and had no problems. My problem started when I used Dark&Lovely perm colour that my hair was messed up, I cut it a year later because it was just not the same. . . . . . . . . .
Heard a lot about this henna but haven't seen it anywhere. Does anyone know what product name it is sold under in Nigeria? Also since it is not permanent,that means it washes off gradually right? Does that mean it will stain my pillows?

Don't get me wrong Ejadamen, I love my hair natural but don't know what to do with it in terms of styling, you know when it is not long enough to plait/braid yet not short enough to look cute. . . .I am determined to stay natural though, a break from chemicals is needed so I am sticking to this, hopefully to last a life time!   cheesy
Hmm. I'm not bothered about styling maybe cos I'm tom boyish. I just wear my hair the way it is. Comb it and go out grin I want my hair to be about 6 months before I start mauling it. I've seen a couple of hairstyles(can't remember where) where a lady with about your growth of hair wore her hair stylishly rough.You could try that undecided

@Arlington: The AF showed on the 30th day to my disappointment. It came so heavy as in clots with intense abdominal pain, How long am I going to be this way? People are counting months for me, 6 months into marriage, no positive sign so far,
This was not directed at me but I have to comment. Limar please try to relax. Getting tensed up will not do you any good. I'm even upset about how 3rd parties will be counting months for someone after wedding as if it's exam. If you need to see a doctor then do to set your mind at ease but please do NOT sink into any form of depression. I've been married for almost 3yrs and as far as my family and in-laws know,I'm yet to get pregnant(mainly cos I haven't told them). It's hard to see people carrying babies and hearing family and in-laws say insensitive things but try to give yourself peace of mind. It was when I decided to relax my mind,exercise etc that I got pregnant. So please cheer up and look to God who is the only one who gives children. Take care and God bless.

@ ejadamen, you want to stop ke, why? I just advised a pregnant friend to be taking that o, she is wary of drinking water, so i told to always spice it up wit Nutri C. Hope i never mis-yearn sha.
See Romeo's reply below
Romeo4real:
@Eja-

Pls check the Nutri-C to see if it has any artificial sweeteners. These are much worse than sugars,as they are known to cause a host of health problems inc cancers fertility issue, gastric discomfort, etc. If you have to, you are better off taking a sweet drink containing sugars, than one containing artificial sweeteners (sucralose, splenda, aspartame, acesulfame-k, etc).
Regarding the malt, it wont hurt if once in a while. The question is - can you keep it to "once in a while"?
Nutri-C contains aspartame.

@ SA goddess, I BC'ed my hair 3 months ago so my hair right now is not so short and maybe long enough to be braided(with extensions). I found it odd that you're unhappy with your hair at it's current length. I LOVE my hair and I don't do much to it. I shampoo it about once a month but I co-wash(wash with conditioner only) about twice a week. I moisturize my hair with shea butter and seal with EVOO(extra virgin olive oil). Sometimes I use Emily millionaire coconut oil and herbs creme or ORS(organic root stimulator) olive oil creme. As much as possible I don't use any product that has petroleum or mineral oil as an ingredient. I deep condition once a week with Africa's Best hair mayonnaise. My hair is growing beautifully. When I'm not co-washing,I pour water on the hair everyday. I'm just waiting for more length.

I've received stares and questions from people asking when I'll relax my hair. I just smile and say never and smile more when they look shocked grin Check out this website www.hairlista.com there are a lot of black ladies growing their hair there naturally and otherwise. You'll get tips on products to use etc,just look for the naturalistas group. Wish you all the best in your natural hair journey.

My dear, baby kinihuhhuh
I didnt wait for anybody to tell me not to oh. i abstained from it the very minute i knew i was preggie. I didnt make it to 40 weeks, i had twins u know? all the same they were not prems. Knowing that i might not make it to 40 wks, i eat like a glutton from abt 27 weeks. was feeding them every 3hrs. so when they came around they were even bigger than normal babies. More questions pls. lol
I still admit that HIS grace kept us.

We are nothing without HIM.

Cheers darl, eat well and get enoff rest.
grin grin Same here. I know you had twins and I doff my hat for you. I'm trying to plan ahead so I don't get caught unawares. I was told the cerclage will be removed at 36 weeks but I think my bag should be ready before then. I'm also worried about when to shop for baby things since I'm being told to stay off my feet as much as possible. I shall take that hint about eating well,already doing that one sef. I know that it's God who watches over us. By His grace all is well. Can't think of any more questions now so I'll wait till I have more. thank you so much.
