@ Arly did you take something sweet before the movement started? Read somewhere that sweet things and caffeine make babies move in the womb. Weekend was great just very very tiring. Monday update - I am okay. I feel good. Got some relief from the back pain,it just stopped. Sleeping is getting harder and I am constantly shocked at how my center gravity has shifted plus the growing heaviness. I'm healthy and happy. |
Thanks for the vid AqRiUs. I've done that type of loc before about 2yrs back. Had it in for 4-6 months(can't remember now) but I do remember how my hair looked after I took it out, horrible! But I think that was because I didn't know much about hair care then. I might try it again. |
vescucci:That implies that at cold temps you would become inactive Good info to have. |
AqRiUs Age:Thanks. I am interested in dreadlocs but only if I can get my hair back when I want to take them out. |

Sammie! Please get well. Please o! We need you back here. Rest well and get well. God bless.Modath, you are welcome. Really you've inspired me to aim to lose weight after this 9 months are over. I was aiming to get to 65kg but thought it was too much but see life example of 100kg to 75kg. I salute jare. I am motivated!!! Er but I will wait for now. ![]() |
madlady:Great idea! Now all I need is a pic to show in the market. Wait! Too lazy.I'll prob do it in a month or two. ![]() |
ariblaze:Ouch! Vesc, get off the weed and reply this sucker ![]() Blaze admit it,my flying debris that you so conveniently vacuumed gave you the high you needed to step back into the ranting game. Beg for forgiveness! Wake up man you're in la la land. Ok vampire Blaze rev up and spew your bile. Bring it on and if I find you amusing enough to engage I will. Just in case your sight's impaired those puny lil humans in the corner look lil cos you're running away fast so they don't trash your rat-tail a$$. Run Blaze and save your sanity while you still can. |
Vesc, yes, let's and while you're high I'll take you to the zenith by chucking you under a moving train. |
Looks who's talking, the self-exiled returnee? Who named you the boss that we should hold fort for you? While you were out swimming in whatever muck you call life, peeps have been ranting. Rant if you want to or have the courage to say you actually missed us. The rant page is what gives you a high. Pathetic heh but then that's what you are! Work up a good rant and then we'll see if you could be called boss ![]() You caught me at a bad time blaze ![]() |
@ modath, why would you want to unlearn good habits? Your friend not offering you water was going a bit to far, haba! Fact is we Nigerians have bad eating habits, period! Anyone going against the tide seems strange and begins to offend ONLY because it's strange. You have lost weight so your 'rules' are paying off. I bet your friends wish they had your discipline, I know I do. Er, about your daughter, maybe you can bend for her once in a while but not at the detriment of your health goals. Or you could pretend to eat it ![]() modath: couldn't help it,so funny ![]() |
I saw sisterlocs on its website i think and fell in love with it and all the versatile styles until I read that it's permanent. To remove it one would have to cut it off I'm confused by all these many types of locs. Take braidlocs for instance, what is that? I saw a pic of it where a lady braided her hair into individual braids(no extensions) and left it and it became locs(is that how it works?) I'm wondering what happens to the new growth of hair after a while? Would sha re-braid? ![]() |
Arlington:Be laughing o! I'm pulling them out one by one, thank God it's not profuse. It's just strange seeing strands of hair on my chin Itiade!!!! Low back pain, did it afflict you cos I can't stand for 30mins |
Sammiejo:Sammy I trust you're feeling better now. Take it easy o and be well. |
madlady:What name do you call it by? Besides one needs some length to do that knot, right? SA Goddess:Heard a lot about this henna but haven't seen it anywhere. Does anyone know what product name it is sold under in Nigeria? Also since it is not permanent, that means it washes off gradually right? Does that mean it will stain my pillows? |

Madlady those styles are lovely, especially the first or is it fourth ;wine with bantu knots Doubt I would do it though, looks like stress ![]() |
SA Goddess:Hmm. I'm not bothered about styling maybe cos I'm tom boyish. I just wear my hair the way it is. Comb it and go out I want my hair to be about 6 months before I start mauling it. I've seen a couple of hairstyles(can't remember where) where a lady with about your growth of hair wore her hair stylishly rough. You could try that ![]() |
Thanks Romeo. |
Where did monday updates go ![]() Pimples on my chest also growing a beard |
I have recently developed a craving for doughnuts sweet ones with jam in it |
limar:This was not directed at me but I have to comment. Limar please try to relax. Getting tensed up will not do you any good. I'm even upset about how 3rd parties will be counting months for someone after wedding as if it's exam. If you need to see a doctor then do to set your mind at ease but please do NOT sink into any form of depression. I've been married for almost 3yrs and as far as my family and in-laws know,I'm yet to get pregnant(mainly cos I haven't told them). It's hard to see people carrying babies and hearing family and in-laws say insensitive things but try to give yourself peace of mind. It was when I decided to relax my mind, exercise etc that I got pregnant. So please cheer up and look to God who is the only one who gives children. Take care and God bless. |
Aladunni:See Romeo's reply below Romeo4real:Nutri-C contains aspartame. |
Arlington: I had to ask. I had heard before that bd could go on as before but with a cerclage I wanted to be sure. Besides e no easy ![]() |
on youtube, look for longhairdontcare2011,her hair journey will inspire you. She's been natural for about 4 years now I think. |
@ SA goddess, I BC'ed my hair 3 months ago so my hair right now is not so short and maybe long enough to be braided(with extensions). I found it odd that you're unhappy with your hair at it's current length. I LOVE my hair and I don't do much to it. I shampoo it about once a month but I co-wash(wash with conditioner only) about twice a week. I moisturize my hair with shea butter and seal with EVOO(extra virgin olive oil). Sometimes I use Emily millionaire coconut oil and herbs creme or ORS(organic root stimulator) olive oil creme. As much as possible I don't use any product that has petroleum or mineral oil as an ingredient. I deep condition once a week with Africa's Best hair mayonnaise. My hair is growing beautifully. When I'm not co-washing,I pour water on the hair everyday. I'm just waiting for more length. I've received stares and questions from people asking when I'll relax my hair. I just smile and say never and smile more when they look shocked Check out this website www.hairlista.com there are a lot of black ladies growing their hair there naturally and otherwise. You'll get tips on products to use etc, just look for the naturalistas group. Wish you all the best in your natural hair journey. |
itiade: Same here. I know you had twins and I doff my hat for you. I'm trying to plan ahead so I don't get caught unawares. I was told the cerclage will be removed at 36 weeks but I think my bag should be ready before then. I'm also worried about when to shop for baby things since I'm being told to stay off my feet as much as possible. I shall take that hint about eating well, already doing that one sef. I know that it's God who watches over us. By His grace all is well. Can't think of any more questions now so I'll wait till I have more. thank you so much. |
Thanks Sammy and modath. I'm resting as much as I can. I hate hate hate the heartburn. @modath look at what you weigh now, you've more than compensated for your weight gain, kudos to you. |
@ Itiade, I totally understand about the discharge,I was rushing to the loo as well. Ahem! Another question. Were you placed on pelvic rest ,as in, no baby dancing throughout the pregnancy? Did you get up to 40 weeks or did you deliver before that? Sorry about the plenty questions. |
Where did my post disappear to? Anyway Romeo,Nutri-C contains aspartame,an artificial sugar. I'll stop drinking after this batch runs out. |
. i fidn that braidslocs is better for smaller hair (not necessarily shorter hair, but smaller as in tiny locs as opposed to big-chunky ones. For the former, try interlocking). So, yes you have the right idea, Ejadamen, the lady did braidslocs. She cant rebraid the new growth so she'll have to try one of the other methods.
(a neighbour offered)
Please get well. Please o! We need you back here. Rest well and get well. God bless.
