Politics / Re: Jose Antonio Ocampo To Withdraw From World Bank Presidency Race by Ekhan1(m): 8:36pm On Apr 13, 2012
ZUBY77:

I am sure you are wondering how this could be bad for Nigeria.
We need Ngozi here. She is the best minister up there in Aso Rock. If this Ocampo guy withdraws, Ngozi will have more chances of winning. Being the head of world bank is good for her but we need her here.
you have spoken my mind. We surely need her here to assist GEJ.
Romance / Re: I'm 28 Desperate To Settle Down. by Ekhan1(m): 10:53am On Apr 12, 2012
Who says 25 is the rigt time to settle. You cant get married without first being in a serious relationship. A baby must first crawl before walking. Im guessing that the reason you dont have a man is cos u'v got high taste and wldnt settle for less, mayb u despise guys and fail to see the good in them. I aint saying u shld settle for a pauper. What im saying is that u shld find a man who's got potentials and assurance of making it (thats if u cant find ur man of high taste-probably after waiting a hundred years). Include God in your endeavors. Goodluck

Serious elated that positive minds still exist in Nigeria. Nigeria's our own, we cant continue like this. This present generation of youths have a great challenge to revive Nigeria. May God give us the wherewithal...Amen.
One Nigeria, good people, great nation.

2buff:

Where do the leaders come from?
Is it not the citizens?

As I have always said, more than 90% of the nigerians that blame the leaders will do the same thing if they got into that leadership position...or even much worse.
it has been the same darn cycle for more than a couple decades now.
2buff...tnkyou. Pple fail to see the truth in this. Most of the pple in power today mayhv in d past condemned OBJ or other leaders bt thier impact isnt bn felt today as leaders. We always like to look for who to put the blame on. Leaders this, leaders that...enuf of that. Well, let all citizens play their roles well and Nigeria wld be a beta place.

stepo707: I wouldn't blame the citizens for being pessimistic. Its the darn leaders that have been constantly looting our treasury and has brought suffering upon the citizens. But i still believe in Nigeria.she is a great country.
enuf tok abt leaders this leaders that. The leaders dont make up the nation, the people also do. We all have a role to playas a citizen nt until u become a know leader. Play ur role well and encourage others to do same. One thing is for sure, d evil deeds of the leaders will b put to an end onday. Meanwhile, do what you have to do to effect change and dont compromise your integrity.

Romance / Re: Yearnin For A Man's Touch by Ekhan1(m): 10:47pm On Apr 09, 2012
Aina fadekemi: Mekozoral. How far? I understand Ur plight. Am also slightly in Ur shoe, only that I have a guy in my life. My first advice to U is not to try self service. Next is dat Ur physiology is getting the better of U. I'd ask if the yearning is a pattern; if yes then U nid 2 know that whenever U av that feeling, then U are mostly either approaching Ur ovulation or approaching Ur menstruation. Itz a bit different in women. In all this, my simple advice is this, pray to God earnestly to give U a husband to whom U can present Urself as a gift to him. Who says Men don't like virgins, that person is a big liar. Dropin my case now. U can beep me on 08060020496 or 07085284339 lets get along 2 C how we can help ourselves. Takia

for me, marrying a non virgin is more like a case of eating a left over food in a restaurant. I am seriously praying to get married to a virgin.
Fadekemi, keep in touch with the poster, u guys shld get along well. God be with you.

@ ifemiduro

well, people are different and it would sound very hilarious that u divorced ur hubby cos he aint romantic. Ur married to him and u have his children already. Marriage is also about communication and he is the closese person u can commune with. Tell him how u feel and what u wnat, teach him if he lags in any area. He is ur hubby. U both have a responsibility to groom each other. So please enjoy ur hubby while u have him alive.
Cheers!

Politics / Re: Okonjo Iweala Would Win The World Bank Presidency by Ekhan1(m): 4:38pm On Apr 04, 2012
felix4real:

I sometimes wonder how Nigerians think. Must you gain anything directly from her being World Bank Head? I think i am getting really tired of the "subjective" comments being made on Nairaland about issues that should elicit intellectual response. If you must know, some of your possible gains from her being World Bank head are:

1. Nigeria would attain some level of relevance in the international system
2. If you travel abroad, then you will be regarded with less suspicion because someone from your country (often being branded as corrupt)is heading the world's highest financial institution
3. Nigeria would get more favourable deals in terms of world bank-assisted economic programs
4. If you are an business man who imports, then your letters of credit will be scrutinized with less fervour because your economic status will receive positive assessment
5. Points 1 to 4 above will favour Nigerian businesses and and the economy in general.
6. The list is actually endless........

Note that i am not soliciting for her being president i am merely pointing out possible gains should she become president.

Stop looking at what the immediate direct gains would be and project on the broader gains of her becoming president. Consider less the picture a 5 mega-pixel camera would produce for you and start considering the limitless resolution and size the camera in your eye (your retina) can give you.

seriously, im also dissapointed @ the way nigerians think. Imagine someone saying that the WB presidency would be a better avenue for NOI to steal. So so demeaning.
God bless Nigeria

@o.poster,
so now the world need the fraudulent touch of nigeria to move forward abi? okonjo iweala shouldn't have made the move in the first place. nigeria still has a lot to steal from and it is only in nigeria that criminals are respected and worshipped. why going out when everything is here for here to enjoy. she shld have known that stealing from and in nigeria is the best because even when u are caught, u will turn into a cabal and that will end the story. for me, na wrong move. why is she going to the world when nobody has accounted for all the recovered loots and additional N32 per litre made from fuel subsidy since january.
abeg, make the whole world dey careful of nigerians and their international intentions which could be fraudulent.

may i say that i am dissapointed @ ur thinking and ideology. NOI has held several positions in the world bank before now and thats one of the reasons she's bn nominated for the presidency post. NOI is also one of the reputable few we have in the Nigerian Govt today and as the coordinating minister of the economy, she is bound to do well. My fear is what happens to our economy if she's eventually picked as the next World bank president, she seems to be the only one with a firm grasp of the nigerian economy.
So my guy, there are very few good people in this country and NOI is one so ur thought of her going to steal in the world bank is outrightly outrageous and unacceptable to her person.
NOI had a very lucrative job with the WB and was never begd to come home and serve as the minister of finance, she deemed it fit to come home and render her expertise to her nation.
Please be positive in ur thinking and also be factual when u post comments on a public forum.
