@gg4real - Hello Gurus in the house, I had a two years UK visa which has expired. I used this visa twice and on the last occassion, i mistakenly over stay for a period of 9months and at the point of exit, the officer told me that I will only be given a punishment of 1yrs ban but I have not apply since my return two years ago.

My question now is that If I apply now, is there possibility that I will be given the punishment now or it has already pass since I havent apply since two years ago. Also, if I apply, do I stand any chance of getting the visa again?"

Thanks @Missoredipe for this reminder. The dude 9 months overstay has come back to hunt him. Certainly this is a refusal and they are keeping the passport to check out what he was doing for 9 months in the U.K.

I have picked my passport today and it was a refusal. bt I was given an opportunity of administrative review. How long does this take when I submit more proofs, Why was I given an administrative review option? Does it require some charges pls and how much??

AR means that you can send a letter to the Application Centre, for them to review their judgement. You are given the opportunity to address the issues raised by the ECO in your refusal letter if the ECO erred. You can also submit any additional document to support your position why the ECO erred in refusing your application. AR is free.

Simply means that your passport was not sent to Sheffield along with other documents. Is your application a renewal?

Congratulations!! It will be better to stick to the terms in your application on your first visit to avoid problem at POE. You can always visit the UK as many times as you can afford it before the visa expires in the next 6 months.

Please read back and you'll answers to all your questions. The reasonable time to apply for a UK visitor visa is 3 months before your travel date.

You just have to wait and be patient. You should receive the decision email this week.

V.4.(a) and (b).... Which I wasn't guilty of, I was refused unjustly, there was no money lodgement or lack of funds, I feel maybe because I put that I have 4 siblings in the uk and it's 5 that I have but I didn't have his passport number so I just felt it wasn't important.

Can you post the refusal letter, if you still have it. Having sibling in the UK is not a justification for a refusal. Reapplying without addressing the issues resulting in your last refusal is not advisable.

I will explain the source of the money then. I'm including my personal acct because whenever I get paid, I transfer money from my Salary acct to my personal, I never spend directly from my Salary acct. that is how I've always operated the acct for years, would this be a problem for me?

Also my husband gives me upkeep every month, some months he transfers it into my acct, some months he gives me cash, I think the last time he transferred into my acct was in December,
1)do I need to explain this too?
2) Do I tell him to transfer the one for this month to me or just collect the cash?

Truthfully,The way I feel, I don't want to yarn too much for fear of being refused again and I wouldn't want one stupid transfer to jeopardise my chances, I have enough money for my trip, which I saved up from my salary already.

What was the reasons for your last refusal? As it been addressed in this intending application?

Please from how much is termed as money lodgement?

An amount that is very obviously not consistent with inflow and outflow in your account. For example, if your have N200K paid into your account within 6 months and the money is just sitting there at the time of your visa application, then the ECO may consider this as money lodgement as this amount is obvious. However, if you have been having N200K coming in and going out several time, then this is not money lodgement.

1)If someone sends me money(200k) as a birthday gift 2months before my application, would this be termed as money lodgement? Not really, if the fund have been depleted from your account and it's not contributing to your acccount balance.

You still need to submit a 6 month bank statement unless you do not have a bank account. In as much the ECO will see that you have a sponsor, there is also the need to see that you have strong ties to Nigeria that will make you return after your visit. For medical trip you must correspondences with a UK doctor/hospital and know estimated cost of the medical evaluation. A referral letter from Nigeria may not be enough. Your chances of getting the visa will depend on the ECO assessing your application based on the documents you have submitted. I cannot say more than this.

If you do not have a job currently. State same in the application and provide reasons that due to your health issues you have been out of job since xxxx.

Just saw this thread today and I must say you are doing a great job....now my issue is this .

I'm planning to go to U.K for a medical evaluation and that will cost 5k pounds which I intend to make part payment of 3 or 4k pounds but here is the point.

There is a sponsor for the trip but I want to know if it is also necessary for me to present a statement of account despite the fact that I have a sponsor who will be presenting his own statement even after part payment will be made.

Secondly if someone will be following me to assist me do I have to make a separate visa spplication for that person or should I just fill the name of the person in my own application and submit the passport with my package?

Please advice me on what to do and how to go about the medical visa as I already have reference letter from lasuth stating why I need to go outside the country for evaluation.

Yes you must include you bank statement, proof of employment and payslip even if you have a sponsor. Any accompanying person must fill a separate online application.

Got my passport today and my visa was approved(6 months multiple entry). Note that this is my first UK visa application, I have never travelled outside Nigeria and I only had 350k balance in my account. This is to encourage other people that your documentations are the most important things when applying for UK visa.

Dude she can't accommodate you as the law does not permit her as along as she is still dependent on public fund. Like I said before you need to keep her out of your visa application or you won't stand a chance.

Good morning house. Is it possible for someone who lives in a council house and not working but living in 4-bedroom to write a letter she will be responsible one's accommodation and feeding. All other expenses will be covered by myself.

This is someone already been supported with public funds (council house, weekly allowance). The ECO will consider that you will be an extra burden and benefiting indirectly from public fund (accommodation and feeding). This is automatic refusal. Best is for you to look of hotel accommodation and foot the bills for the entire trip without bringing her into the picture. In order words, you can just mention her as someone you know in the U.K., but you will not stay or visit her.

Also, is there a requirement for TB test for a standard visitor visa applicant?

Yes all document must be sent to the applicant to submit at TLS. TB test is not required for standard visitor visa, except visitors planing to stay more than 6 months.

Write her current name and include evidence of change of name e.g. Marriage certificate, change of name publication etc.

It seem rather odd that a director of a company could have been refused a visit visa given that you submitted the above documents. Will you be kind to share your refusal letter so that we can analysis it and help. Changing status or submitting fewer documents won't help as Home Office already have your file containing all your previous documents submitted and application form. Addressing the reasons for your last refusal is the most appropriate thing to do in any new application.

@vicjustice have provided the answer. You are requested to enter the amount you have available for the trip. I.e. The amount of fund you willing to commit for the trip. Normally this will be higher than the cost of the trip as foreseen and unforeseen situation may arise during your visit e.g. You may require medical attention if you fall sick which you must pay for if you do not have a health travel insurance.

Need I mention my wife, who joined me last year on spouse settlement visa, has a sister in this UK as well. However my wife's sister has a pending application to stay here in the UK which has not been decided on. Do I need to include my wife's sister's name too as well as my wife as family in the UK? We would prefer not to include my wife's sister as her application to remain in the UK is still pending.

Anyway I, as well as my wife's sister regularly send my mother inlaw money monthly which contributes to most of her livelihood. If it shows in her bank account; would the ECO, or whoever deciding the application, say that she depends more on UK family funds, thereby a greater chance that she might want to remain in the Uk and not go back? Someone told me we need to tailor my mother inlaw's visit application to such that most of her livelihood comes from funds her children in Nigeria maintain her with. My mother inlaw has my wife and my wife's sister in the UK and three other children in Nigeria.

Yes you have to disclosed your wife sister details. This disclosure does not in any way affect your wife sister application. The home office has extensive investigative ability so there is no need to hide this inform.

There is a strong compelling reason for your mother in law to visit. This is what you must proof with evidence. The most important thing is to demonstrate that you have adequate funds to sponsor her visit. The home office already have a file on you since you successfully sponsored your wife.

Many thanks Ekpotek. I've heard a few people say you need to prove she would return to Nigeria after the visit which could come in form of ties. I am still ting to figure out what these would be as she is in a rented apartment and was not quite employed to have pension.

At her age which is over 60 will count in her favour as you keeping her in the UK will be a burden to you. This the ECO knows. Proofing ties to return are for younger applicants who are capable of getting illegal employment in the UK or over staying. I think there is information somewhere that permit you to bring your parents over 70 years to come and live with you permanently in the UK. Others gurus can also contribute here.

Tailored your application to show that she is depended on you for everything including accommodation, monthly upkeep etc.

The issues will not be about your wife sponsoring the trip as it is allowed for a spouse to be a sponsor, but the ECO could have issue with the total amount in your wife's account (which is N1.4m) because, if she bought tickets for everyone from it, how much would be left to live on?
This said, i recognise that your wife has another £800, plus your N350k, therefore, the whole thing now comes to credibility and merit: and as your wife already holds a visa, and does not pose immigration risk, her baby's visa is almost guaranteed: therefore, i am of the opinion that your own visa would be approved if things are done orderly.
Include all the both accounts of your wife and add your own account. Good luck.

Photos of her with you/daughter in Nigeria etc
Any documents to proof existing relationship such telephone call log etc.

This is discriminatory,it has never been heard anywhere that you are denied a visa based on your marital status,i'm cork sure if it were based on sexual orientation this would have sparked some outrage......Do not reapply without asking for a review on this

@Mailata. I absolutely agree with@Solatium that you should write for a review. Eventough they may not over turn the ECO decision, the review will be kept in your file for future reference in case you apply again.

I am based in the UK and my wife just joined me over a year ago. Now she is preggers. I want to invite my mother inlaw to visit us from Nigeria just in time for the delivery of the baby, say for 6 months.

My mother inlaw is over 60 and was/is a house wife with no bonds nor pension. She just has a bank account with her maintenance money which we send to her periodically. I am the one to sponsor her and she would stay at my place.

I understand all visitor visas are grouped under standard vsisitor visa now. Who has experienced this or who has an idea of what is expected of me for the application please?

Yes all visitor visas are grouped under standard visitor. You have no problem just filled the online application on her behalf and provide all the necsssry documents. You may need to have someone accompany her to the TLS centre for submission.

Point 2: I havent shown any economic tie to Nigeria except my pension savings. He or she isn't satisfied that at the end of my visit I would return home. Also stated I intend to spend 1670 pounds (flight n local transport 690.living expenses 200. Ibis budget hotel 780) kindly note salary 282, 000 after tax n pension. Account balance N 2.388.000.

@Mialate. Sorry to hear about your refusal. It is very painful after one have put in everything to make it work. The reasons for the refusal is petty as I know a lot of single applicants getting visa. It's just hard luck.
