Johnokafor10001: hello , i just got an email from the embassy requesting for more document for my visa application , they requested for my cac and some other business document , do i stand a chance with this ? SCAM. UKVI will not make such a request for a visitor visa. Many been refused for not submitting sufficient documents. Why will yours be an exception? If UKVI want to make any clarification from a visitor visa applicant, you will call for an interview. |

aktai: Thanks for the response, I shared the story before applied for the visa, I needed opinions before applying. The monthl salary was not 2 million, I get paid based on contract won and making sales for the company as an Executive Director. I was not salary based, I receive based on commission on project but when I summed up what was entering from the company monthl it varies but I was able to calculate 2 million and less some other months based on the project that was carried out. What do you suggest I do in this situation? If you are thinking of reapplying. You will need to provide documentation of each contract won in the last 6 months and documents from Fabex paint showing approvals of agreed payments into your account. These documents should clearly reflect in details how your commission was paid by Fabex Paint. Since you are an executive director and you and not on a salary, you should revised the online application form on Finance to reflect that. |

aktai: Hello house, I was refuse and I have attach the refusal slip. Kindly help me out on what to do. Thanks First issue: Your uncle refer to you as his cousin. Why? You are either his nephew or niece. Second issue: Earning of N2 million salary per month. That is high even for people working in international oil and gas industries. I dont know if any one in a paint industry can earn this fabulous salary. Third issue: Fabex Paint? Who own it? Is it a limited liability company? What is your position? The ECO does not believe this company can be paying you that much of a salary per month as stated. These ECO lives in Nigeria and knows the salary ranges for many employment sectors. The ECO has concluded that those purported transfer from Fabex paint is unbelievable and suspicious. |

debopopson: Hello House,
i have an enquiry...my wife has a valid US visa(visited the US like 3 times 2018,2017,2016) and has visited the UK like 4 times (2018, 2016,2015,2014) on visiting visa. However, she resigned from the bank like 5 months ago and she intends to visit the UK in December again.
Although we renew our visas every year doing 6 months visa because we know we travel just once in a year. However, she wants to travel this December (we were there June this year for 2 weeks). she is no longer working but she is into catering business now with a very high turnover on her statement (but not registered).
I do not want to make things too complex by saying i am sponsoring her, blablabla...although i work...can she apply based on her own merit for another 6 months visa? or i should still write as her sponsor? Her current visa will expire 1st week in November.
Awaiting opinions please!! You wife has a good travel history to the UK. Change of source of income will not be a deterrent. Let her just explain that she into business now and shows the financial transactions of the business. |

DrTony1: Hello everyone, my kind regards to Legend, justwise, jarus and folmus.
About my mistake in my Tier 2, I later contacted UKVI via email and even called them and Abuja High Commission telling them I made a mistake and also sending my refusal letter.
Good news is, I got the Visa. Thank God almighty for everything. I just wanted to let anyone who made a mistake know you can contact UKVI for correction. in my case I sene emails repeatedly with reminders almost every other day after UKVI rejected my request to withdraw my application twice. Good luck guys
I appreciate all your kind input here cc:Legend, justwise, jarus and folmus and every one else here. Bless you all. Congratulations. However your is work visa, which is different from a tourist/visitor visa. The ECO knows that you will not be staying in an hotel forever during the duration of your work visa. Wish you a nice stay in the UK. |

I have a family friend inviting/sponsoring me for vacation in the UK come December, someone is of the opinion he file an application for me over there since he is sponsoring me..according to the person the UK embassy will see if he is eligible to invite/sponsor me then he would b giving a letter for me to present at the embassy here......and that if I meet their requirements here then I would be granted visa without filling online application form. Can someone confirm this for me. SCAM. Even if you’re invited by the Queen, you still need to go through the process of submitting an application either online or paper application at the embassy. |

Oloyadams: Hello guys! I have once been given 6 month visa once in 2014 to visit the United Kingdom which I did. I want to go for my renewal now. How do I go about it? Apply like you did in 2014. There is nothing like UK visitor renewal. Your application will assessed based your current circumstances in Nigeria. Since were once given a visa and you sticked to visa term, chances are that you will likely get the visa if you do not have any serious problems with your documentation. |

Going for a full day or 3day course in UK is it enough reason to apply for a visa in UK. Though am contemplating if going for a safety conference workshop will be better than attending safety course .
Please what are your options. Counting on you You can only know if you apply. Regardless of of the course is also offered in Nigeria, if you’re qualified you will be given the visa. |

Enishit: **BEWARE ITS A LONG POST NO KNOWLEDGE IS LOST* Good day everyone I need a good advise please do not abuse me I know my faults already. I once have a private chat with Just wise and he was good with the questions I asked. I was a student in the UK, so in August 28, 2008 I re-applied to extend my stay in the UK but I could not submit my bank statements cos I have huge transactions especially Salary cos I was working more than 20hrs a week. I have an Uncle that Owns a Elderly home which I worked in the nite for 6days and go to sch for 3days in a week. So sometimes in November 2008 I was asked to send in my statement of acct which I was so scared and confused but then I have a friend she’s from Uganda that said she will introduced me to some guys which she did that it was those guys that helped her with the bank statements she used to get her papers those guys requested for my original bank statements ( Note she actually has an indefinite leave to remain). So I follow suit. I was so skeptical about it when I saw the forged ones but was like I shd submit they don’t always confirm, that’s was how I submitted it. So in January 2009 I got a message to sign that they won’t to confirm my statements chai my heart Jumps and I called the lady she said I shd sign it immediately and send so they won’t think am trying to hide something so immediately signed and even sent tru first class delivery. But I couldn’t clear it off my head. So I made a decision to withdraw my application and came back to Nigeria I withdrew the application and Got back my passport on February 12,2009 and left UK on the 2nd March, 2009. I try applying for a visit visa with my family in 2012 but due to the fact that my husband did not submit his personal statements of acct instead he submitted the company statements we were refused and I dint get any letter confirming if I was ban just the financial part of it. In 2013 I want to go further my education applied for student visa in April then I got the ban letter even thou my application for the student visa met the requirements I was denied under Pag 370 blah blah that deception in my former application in 2008. Thou all information on my statements was correct except the transactions so if I apply again I will still get the same answer until August 2018. Now my SIL who is a BC is having a party in Dec and My family will like to go visit. Please what adivse can you give me? 1) Shd I apply alone without my family to tackle the issues. 2) shd I apply with my family. I work as medical Personnel and also double up as my boss PA most times. He told me to let the company apply for me, he also have a 5yrs Visa. I have good records on finiacial aspects thou sometimes the company can deposit some money into my acct for disbursement either for events or some other work related stuffs. I have savings in my dorm acct which I don’t use unless traveling outside the country. Have been to few countries on tourist visa. Thanks for you input will appreciate your comments. If you think your ban has been lifted in 2018. Then go ahead and apply. Do not involve your family until your get your visa. However, since your immigration records with the UK already showed immigration intention with deception based on your 2008 application (withdraw or not), getting a UK visitor visa will be a very difficult hurdle to cross in my own opinion not minding your cureent financial circumstances. |

frisky008: Good morning everyone, This is my first time of posting here and it will also be the first time I am going to apply for a visa. I have a partner in UK, we have been in a relationship for close to a year now. She came to see me in Lagos in which we spent two weeks together before she left back to UK. She will come to Nigeria in January next year spending a month with me in my hometown. We have discussed about the various visa I could easily get so we could be together in UK. My questions are, what kind of Visa should I apply for ? Would you advice if I use a travelling agent or I apply myself ? Will there be a problem in getting a visa as she is quite older than me? Are you planing to immigrate to the UK to join her? If so, marry her in Nigeria and apply for a spouse visa after marriage. Getting a visit visa based on what you have stated above will be difficult. |

Enick: I want to appreciate Ekpoteh and Omicron for your prompt response and also those who have made various contributions.
1. I don't really have enough documentation to support the fund because I do some side business and properties sales where I get commissions. The initial fix amount in January 2017 was 4.5m but I have kept moving money from my account to increase the fix deposit amount. I explained in my cover letter that I received rent and sales commission. A duplicate copy of receipt provided as well as a sales commission contract agreement with a firm.
2. I traveled with my wife and daughter to Dubai in the year 2014. I own building, lands and business trucks(do weekly balancing to me) in Nigeria.
After the refusal letter, I spoke with a friend in the UK and she was bitter about it and promised to send me invitation letter, her UK passport, properties(houses documents and other investment documents), bank details and other documents. She also offered to accommodate me and take care of my living expenses during my stay.
Do you think this would help? If yes, how early should I reapply? Do you think I should add the Fix deposit again and explain a little or just remove it?. I'm thinking of using same document for reapplication, but just pay slip, leave letter and bank statement. What is your opinion? In the online application form. There are specific questions about your finances including other sources of incomes. The questions did you mention these business, land properties and trucks as additional sources of income? If mention in the cover letter, that you collect rent receipts. The questions where did you get the money to acquire these properties? That would have erased the doubt about the sources of fixed deposit on the mind of the ECO. Now you have come up with getting an invite from UK. Did you mention this person as someone you know in the UK in your last application? How come you are now changing from a tourist to visit a friend? Another red flag and signs of desperation. Any immediate reapplication must address the reason of the last refusal. Like I said if you want to reapply you must come up with documents of your side businesses (invoices, receipts, payments, etc) that are capable of generating N4.5 million. If you are unable to do that I suggest you chilled till next year and put in a fresh application. |

Orjforlife: Thank you ekpotek for your feedback. Could you please advise on the additional documents to present along with the stated ones that would convince the Eco officer that i am not running away from my country (lol) or how much do you think i should have as a closing balance when next i reapply. Something to give me a better chance. Thank you. Visit other countries to establish yourself as a genuine tourist. Invest in land properties. Then reapply next year. |

Enick: Hi Ekpotek.
I applied my UK visa but was refuse on the ground thag i did not mention how I got the fund in my fixed deposit account. Surprisingly this amount was fixed since January 2017 yet the ECo thinks the money would not be available for me.
What would your advise me to do? How soon should I reapply? The ECO is worried about the source of fund in your fixed deposit. Where did you get the fund from? You will need to explain this with documents vis-a-vis your monthly pay. Have you traveled ouside the country before on tourism? If you have document showing how you raise the fund for the initial fixed deposit, you can reapply. However, the ECO likely to scrutinize your previous travel history as a tourist. |

Orjforlife: Wow this is really surprising as i thought me being employed and having a stable and regular source of income was enough to show that i have economic ties to my country(quote author=olystic post=72184630]
This was the same refusal reasons I got from them when i applied. And after consulting with trusted travel agencies. I was told the bitter truth that if I decide to reapply anytime soon I will be refused again. Unless when my situation chance, like been married or buy shares, Bonds, Treasury Bills or buy lands with documents. So my advice for you is to leave the UK for now and explore countries within your reach. The ECO must have converted your monthly salary of 110K to £321. This is less than what a cleaner or some illegal immigrants earn in a month in the UK. Clearly, your monthly pay is considered not a strong financial ties, eventhough you may have good intention. |

adegoks1234: Oga etpotek, please, is it okay to spend out of the money submitted in bank account statement after completing the Biometrics? Sure its your money. There is no rules that the money should sit there until a decision for a visit visa is made. What if there is an emergency or you do not get a decision within a month. However, do not deplete your account to a point that you do not have enough fund to cover the budget for your trip. The ECO is only interested in the consistency of inflow and outflow and wether it reflects your true financial circumstances. |

kokoli: Dear. People. kudos for the good work. i have a very pressing issue I would want an advice. I have submitted my application and undergone biometrics. I found out the hotel reservation I made via booking.com and which I used in applying for the visa has been cancelled. I tried rebooking the same hotel and couldnt because its fully booked for the dates I earier booked with. Is it advisable to now book an entirely Different hotel and send an email to the visa processing center at Sheffield explaining what happened and attaching the new reservation. or will it just complicate issues? Any other logical idea to remedy the situation will be welcomed 2. Do UK visa always call hotels to confirm reservations? I have only Got a mail that my application has been received and is being prepared for consideration by an ECO. . A quick response will be appreciated . I don't want to jeopardise my chances for visa issuance 1. Call them and explain to them why your booking was cancelled and offer to provide them with another hotel booking. If they object, best is to pray hard that they do not confirm hotel bookings 2. Yes they do. Sometimes it depends on your reason for the visa, personal circumstances and travel history. If you have a good travel history to the UK, they might not be bothered about confirming your hotel booking. Particularly if you have family and friends in the UK. |

Can it be used again in November ending or should wait till December ? Yes as many time as you have legitimate reasons to visit the UK before the visa expire. However, you might be question at POE the purpose of visit. |

After reviewing the various cost, I think the 10-year visa is quite reasonable (do it once and hold for a long period, even though it is expensive). I currently work as an engineer (oil and gas). I however have the fear of refusal, as a colleague mentioned that the Visa officer might think we are tactically running away. He suggested doing for 1 or 2 years. Please advise if I should proceed with the 10-year application or just yield to the colleague warning? You are unlikely to get 10 years at first attempt.
