Make sure you have all the copies of the documents you plan to submit. Photocopy them in coloured format and separate them properly to avoid any confusion. Don’t photocopy the bank statement—they will collect all the documents, so be careful not to submit your original by mistake, as they won’t be returning it. It’s better to do all your photocopying at home to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Go to the I94 website and check your entry was documented sha. You won't see stamp there, but make sure your entry was completely processed.

Thanks I have checked. Saw my arrival and departure history from the USA since 2014 till date. With good i94 history, getting US visa is no longer a big deal.

Just arrived yankee for a two week visit. Just checked my passport in my hotel and surprisingly my passport was not stamped. The POE however, took my facial photograph and I spent less than a minute with her. POE was at Atlanta. Is this a new POE policy or she forgot to stamp my passport?

Reapplying should be based on your travel plan. The previous travel date as passed. By next month it will autumn and going to winter. Summer is almost over. Do you have the time? Will your employer reschedule you leave period. If so reapply.

Carry all document that can support what you filled in the DS-160 form. Although they hardly ask to see document for B1/B2 visa. It always good to be on side of caution than to be sorry later.

It is no longer called Dropbox but interview waiver. Yes you need to search for a date to drop your passport.

They will see you POD in their system. If they feel that your travel date is still far, you will be reschedule before your interview date. The.most important thing is to know where you are going, why and what you plan to do there.

Sorry for the refusal. The ECO must have had a bad day. The reasons are neither here or there. I would encourage you to reapply. The reasons for the refusal can be addressed in a good cover letter.

1. The ECO did not question your finance or the ability to fund the trip - Good
2. Going by your cover letter, ECO could not justified you spending two weeks, in which most of it was devoted to shopping without specific details. There are not too many shopping opportunity in Liverpool. However, this can be explained by listing the shops you want visits.
3. The ECO noted your lack of European tourist experiences. You can tell the ECO, that your choice of the UK was based on language, cultural historical relationship with Nigeria as it's colonial master etc.
4. Your Choice of Liverpool, can be explain too. You prefer to take trips to London (only on two occasions) was because you wanted a quite city, and wanted to enjoy the serene landscape as you have plans to travel to London by train or bus. Liverpool is also central as it allows you to travel north to visit cities like Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
5. The ECO noted that you did not research your visit. Yes you did, there are unique tourist site in Liverpool, like Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Antfield stadium as a Liverpool fan. Liverpool convention centre, the famous Liverpool docks and fishing villages etc

Hi Bro, I agree that it’s a bit confusing but let me acquaint you with why some people might need school details in their application.
Take for instance my younger bro is schooling in Netherlands, came to visit me in the UK.
He works part time as well so I’m his application he added admission letter from school, his result thus far, school ID card that showed that he would go back to complete his studies. He also added other relevant details about his part time job and he added proof of funds.
So what I am saying is the situation you are determines the type of document you will present especially as home tie.
However, for this applicant, I feel there are lot of information missing and he needs to let us know what type of visa was previously refused, and what type did he apply for now, since you are now a graduate why including these in your application… I doubt if he was applying for visitor visa anyway…

From the refusal letter. It is clearly stated that applicant apply for a visa to visit the UK. Likely the previous refusal was also for a visitor visa.
In the last application the poser was unemployed and wanted to use his parent as the sponsor. In 5 months time the poser is employed and having received salary for 4 months, the next thing is that he want to visit the UK. Although you circumstances has changed from unemployment to employment. However, planing to commit your 4 months salaries to visit the UK was a red flag. Did you let the ECO know that you have zero monthly expenses in your application. The ECO observed that you only had inflow and no outflow in your bank statement, meaning that someone was covering your living expenses in Nigeria. In summary this is a badly package application hence the refusal.

Remedy: Chill. Do not try to reapply. Focus on your job at least for the next 24 months. This will show the ECO that you are not desperate to visit the UK. When reapplying. Include the following.

1. Letter of introduction from your employer. If it is a private company, ensure that the company is active on CAC website
2. Leave letter
3. Bank statement with outflow/inflow. Demonstrate you incur some expenses and not living off your parents. At least you dey buy data.
3. Itinerary of your activity in the UK
4. A letter that address the last refusal and the steps you have taken to remedy them.

Same requirement for anyone with a Nigerian passport applying from Nigeria. You must demonstrate to ECO that you will leave the UK after your trip. Read through backward for the documents you need to submit. Your US green card only permit you to also apply from the US.

this is not applicable in 2022. Since February 2021 due to brexit 3rd country nationals need it . Nigeria is on that list… you are only exempted as a Nigerian if you have a valid USA, Canada, Schenghen or Japanese visa or passport

Better still, poser can avoid the Schengen area by using airlines like Turkish, Ethiopia, Kenya or Emirate.

No. Knowing someone in the US sometimes can be negative. Sure you are well off to afford an hotel for your honeymoon. Note the VO will be looking at your previous applications to convinced himself if your circumstance has changed.

Hello guys. It feels good to be on this platform. I've been following nairaland for years enjoying the forum and never felt the need to be a member not until I came to this session. I deemed it necessary to join this forum to enable me solicit guidance on how to go about this US b1/b2 visa thing.
I have been refused a US visa like twice (2003, 2004 ) when I tried via a study visa application. I was also denied in 2016 when I got an invitation to attend a convocation ceremony. Some of the issue I had was that I had no travel experience and was unmarried. But after then I have travelled to the UK and Germany and I presently possess a valid 2yrs UK visa. I intend to get married at the end of the yr and plan to go on honeymoon in the US with my fiancee who has a travel history (UAE and Switzerland). I'm an assistant manager working in a good paying fed parastatal and my fiancee works with a multinational company. What are our chances of getting a US Visa and what would be the best approach. Thank you

Your chances depends on your reason to visit the US. You might by lucky to be interviewed by a friendly VO. Just package your application very well. The UK valid visa may cancel the previous US refusals. Be familiar with city you are planing to visit for your honeymoon.

US citizens are visa free to the UK. That is they do not require a visa to visit the UK. Having said that. You can carry their birth certificate just in case the POE asked to show that you’re their mother. The POE many cross-checked if you added your US kids in your visa application as dependents.

It is not a must. Taking you dependent along with you to the UK on a student visa is optional. I hope the scholarship is for post graduate studies.

I don’t think you need a transit visa with a valid UK visa. You will not pass through immigration. I used KLM/Air France to UK in 2019.

This is a follow-up to yesterday's question; after choosing the business category, one of the optional documents the UK gov requested is a letter from the employer/business sponsoring the trip. The problem is that the trip is self-sponsored and coincides with time off work (vacation). The intent is to attend the conference for two days to boost the attendee's portfolio for research publications and go sightseeing for the remaining 7-day-stay. The above are personal plans, and the employer has no input. The company's culture does not include leave of absence letters. Anyone is free to travel with full salaries for up to one month in a calender year as long as they meet yearly quotas.

Wouldn't the above travel plan be more suited to a tourist visa than any other type of visa? If yes, isn't it better to choose the 'other option in the photo below and explain the situation? Is the 'other' option applicable to tourist visas? The 'other' option only requires three documents: a passport, proof of funds and documentation showing legal residency in the country of residence. We assume that the other documents one can include in this category include a conference invitation, UK travel itinerary and travel plans to other countries for the vacation's duration.

Also, what would be anyone's best recommendation for a hotel reservation? The conference venue is close to the airport. Is it better to lodge in an airport hotel for the conference duration and move to a hotel in the touristy area afterwards? Please help!

My last application for 5 years visa took 12 days from submission of biometrics on 10/03/2022 to collection of passport on 25/03/2022 for an academic conference. If the conference is your primary reason. Select business
For Host: provide the name of the contact/organizer, email and telephone number and address. You will also need an invitation letter from the conference organizer. There will an opportunity for elaborate and give more detail on the main reason for your visit and other activities you will do after the conference. If you decide to go the way of a tourist then you do not need provide the above information.

No idea. As I am not familiar with IV. I hear they say the child must be of age ie 18 years and above to petition for his mother to come to the USA.
