soma042:If it is economically advantageous, then yes Biafra would. Nobody cuts off their nose to spite their face. Nobody intelligent, least ways. |
It is just Arabic script. English uses the Latin script. French uses the Latin script. Hausa, they used Arabic script for their writing system before the English came. Now I guess they use Latin script too for their language. Can an Arab even understand their written language? Probably not. . .it would be gibberish to the arab |
Is this likely to be a one-time thing, or something sustainable? |
Schools ke? OK, Chevron should provide electricity, roads, schools, manage our currency (since obviously Sanusi is not competent enough to do so), provide a better taxation system, take care of the borders (clearly Nigeria isn't doing a good job of this), provide running water also. Useless government. If the government doesn't want to do its job, why does it even exist? |
Reading articles like this just makes me pray that Nigeria divides, and divides fast. I am ashamed and angry to be associated with a country as incompetent as this one. Your children are starving, you cannot feed them. . . so you order someone else to do it. |
The Nigerian government's incompetence and abdication of its responsibilities to private parties angers me. Why not order your own government, which has arrogated the right to produce and distribute electricity, to do its muthafucking job? Why are you forcing an oil company to be the power company? Rather than hiding its head in shame, this useless government is instead giving orders. It is like a woman who cannot take care of her children ordering someone else to do it. |
on FEBRUARY 20, 2012 · in NEWS WARRI—THE Presidency has ordered Chevron Nigeria Limited to provide stable and sustainable power supply from the Escravos Tank Farm to oil-rich Ugborodo and Gbaramatu communities in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State as part of its corporate social responsibility. The directive was given in Abuja, after a marathon meeting with stakeholders at the Presidency. The meeting was presided over by Vice-President Namandi Sambo. Present at the meeting were Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and some Gbaramatu youth leaders as well as representatives of Chevron. The Ijaw/Itsekiri youth leadership also agreed that with this, work on the multi-million naira Escravos –Gas –pipeline project being executed by Fenog Nigeria Limited, which was stopped by the aggrieved communities would resume immediately. Vanguard gathered that Chevron has over 90 megawatts of power out of which only 40 megawatts is currently in use and the balance is kept in reserve while all her immediate host communities of Ugborodo and Gbaramatu communities wallow in darkness. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/02/presidency-orders-chevron-to-provide-electricity-to-delta-oil-communities/ |
Are you sure he is hausa? Anyway, he is just playing politics |
Would be a good move. even after Nigeria splits hopefully by 2015, it would probably be a good idea to maintain a common currency |
Heh. And why is pursuing nuclear capabilities irrational? His premise is false, imo. This is probably a US attempt to calm everyone down. |
wth? Too much useless time spent dwelling in the past on fake, suspect theories. Let's look forwards, not backwards. What will we do TODAY and TOMORROW to make Yorubaland a better place? |
BlackPikiN:If the Celtics call up the Knicks asking to trade Rondo for Lin, and pretending salaries matched, do you think that the Knicks would say no? Let alone Paul, Rose, or Westbrook. |
igbaodun:You don't understand basketball. Name 10 players better than him in NBA history. How many players have won 2 rings without a single other top 50 players in HISTORY? Nobody! |
If this is real and not fake, seems miraculous. I'm pretty sure I'd have died were I in the same situation. . . |
Wow. How the fvck didn't he freeze to death? I am surprised at a minimum that he didn't lose his toes and fingers to frostbite. |
Nothing wrong with the Knicks strategy. There are what, 1.4 billion Chinese people on earth? May as well capture as much of their growing spending power as possible. If Jeremy Lin helps you do that, by all means take advantage. |
They might even do Lin for Rondo. Rondo's peak play is higher than anything Lin has done so far, imo |
Let's put it this way. If the Knicks were offered Lin for Paul, Rose or Westbrook straight up, even 38 year old Nash, they'd do it. |
He is good, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. If you are saying he has potential to be better than Olajuwon, then you are saying he has the potential to be one of the top 10 best players of all time. Which is a very, very bold statement. |
hmm. where is the op to tell us more |
Wow. So all of this "Ojukwu is our hero" stuff you all have made was a fraud and a lie? If I hear one of you ever bring up his name again, I will give you a dirty slap through the internet. |
Comparison like this is disrespectful or stupid, basically |
lmao. Hakeem is a top 10 player of all time. Jeremy Lin is a pretty good guard, but let's not start comparing him to hall of famers yet. Can he at least make an all-star game or all-nba team first before you compare? ![]() |
He is an entertainer, not a politician. Is it by force for him to be both? Makes no sense to comment on sensitive political issues that could jeopardize his earnings |
Cantonese and Mandarin are not mutually intelligible, iirc. Yoruba dialects largely are. |
^-- we shall find out in due course |
lol if the gap between #1 and #2 is 20 million+, then it must have some time ago, not recently |
na wa o ![]() |
EzeUche. How far? I hope all is well. |

This thread needs to hit the front page. |
