ZnO:lmao. you've no clue dude. Anyway, the challenge remains open. |
Katsumoto, ignore the critics. You are performing a valuable public service here. Distilling to laypersons why exactly Sanusi was (A) not qualified for his position (B) has not done a good job upon assuming it. You are under no obligation to respond publicly or in some manner in which Sanusi can respond (though I would suggest you write this up and publish it anonymously in one of the Nigerian newspapers.) I would like to remind some of the critics here that pseudonymous political commentary has been pretty well-accepted throughout history. |
@dem_people: So what happened? |
How is a thread on Sanusi's tenure as CBN head NOT related to politics? Kindly explain what it has to do with business or property. |
In this particular matter, there is no reason for us to be pulling each other down. I don't see the point. We clearly have a common enemy and common interest. Anyway, we had better hear in the next few days about how fulani have been driven out of Imo State and elsewhere in the SE. At least I want to hear that they tried. The destroying of crops is bad enough, but murder and r.ape on top of that is just. . . well, I don't even know what to call it. Anyway, "an eye for an eye" is the right way to go. |

Damn. ak47mann:lmao @ batman |
EzeUche:EzeUche, you don't seem to get it. What you say doesn't really convince me of anything. I'll need to get independent and trustworthy third party confirmation before believing it. Do you get that, or not? If you get this point, then you should understand why the conversation will not have ended because you claimed something. To be frank, an akata like yourself has no business to question the credibility of any person who was born in Nigeria on this forum.Being born in Nigeria is not very likely to make one an authority on Patience Jonathan's ethnicity or origins. At any rate, the luxury of a forum like this is that even an akata like myself can not only interact with people whose only claim to expertise is being born in Nigeria, but with people who are actually knowledgeable. Given that I can hear what people who are knowledgeable have to say, why would I want to hear from you? As Beaf once said about you, you need to listen before you comment instead of thinking that by reading about Nigeria, that makes you an expert. Excuse me if my words are considered insulting, but sometimes the truth needs to be said.Hehe. I'm not sure why you think what Beaf says is of interest to me. I rate him about the same level as you. And that I rate both of you poorly doesn't mean I am claiming to be an expert. But rather than hearing from people who barely know more than me about Nigeria, why shouldn't I listen to folk who actually know a lot? Anyway, without belaboring the point, there is no amount of arguments that will cause me to accept what you say as the final word. It is what it is. |
I figured you'd have gotten the point w/o extending this discussion for too long. The long and short of it is that I don't accept what you say about SS or SE matters as the final word. You just don't have the same credibility to me. I didn't mean to be blunt about it, and no real offense intended, but you don't seem to be getting what I'm trying to say here not-so-subtly. |
Not everyone "from the region" will I take what they say as gospel truth. Using "from the region" as the criterion for who you listen to rather than something more stringent is a bit silly. |
@EzeUche: I have no problem listening, I just prefer listening to people who I am pretty sure know what they are talking about. |
Alright, Okrika from a source I believe knows what he is talking about: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-505540.0.html#msg6665145 |
duing her campaign rally in abia state, she said she is from umhahia so i think any other source is wrong since she said it herself
Yeah, I remember hearing the same thing during election period. Anyway, hopefully someone who knows definitively will clear it up. |
I'm not sure which source is correct then. Can someone who knows definitively say which one she is from? |
Really? Jonathan said that now that the PDP had taken over Abia, the next target would be Anambra.http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/56867-how-patience-won-s-east-jonathan.html Generally one doesn't say "Person X is from location Y" in Nigeria unless their paternal family is from there. |
OAM4J:Alright, I responded to him. Hopefully he stops with this nonsense. |
Seun:You are killing people's threads by moving them to a section nobody reads. Don't move threads there unless they are explicitly business related. Katsumoto's thread on Sanusi has absolutely nothing to do with business. |
Lol I didn't even know "obodo" was Igbo. The oyibo part is Yoruba. I don't say phrases like this in RL, probably the influence of nairaland ![]() |
manny4life:No, I know it isn't beans or something super easy like that. But it also had better not take you 6 years to do, unless there are extenuating circumstances. I have many friends who did econ at their first degree. |
Patience is Igbo, I thought? Or you think she now sees herself as Ijaw due to GEJ. . . ? |
OAM4J, can you address this issue of moving threads to Money/Banking section that don't belong there? If Seun wants to drive traffic to that section of his site, he needs to figure out a way of doing so other than fvcking around with people's threads. |
I have edited the Wikipedia page to remove this erroneous reference to his non-existent MSc, btw. |
Katsumoto:Hehe The failed bankers are the ones paying your salary in obodo oyibo ![]() |
This is the best I can find: http://allafrica.com/stories/200912160227.html He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in 1981, after attending St. Anne's Primary School, Kakuri, Kaduna (up to 1972) and King's College, Lagos (1973-1977). On graduation from ABU, he performed his National Youth Service. So entered college in 1977, graduated in 1981, taught econ at ABU from 1983-1985, did NYSC sometime between 1981 and 1983. This seems consistent with his profile on the CBN website: Sanusi Lamido Sanusi CON was born in Kano Northern Nigeria, on July 31, 1961. He obtained degrees in Economics and Islamic Law from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the International University of Africa, Khartoum.I am not sure that he has any sort of post-graduate training at all. If anyone can find evidence of this, please let me know. |
If he graduated in 1983 and entered in 1977, then why did he take 6 years to finish a 4 year course? Or were there strikes and cancellations in Nigeria at that time too? 6 years to finish a relatively easy degree like economics (relative to something like engineering or hard science, at least. and I don't mean to offend any economics graduates, just being real here ) doesn't strike me as any example of intelligence. |
Here is another profile: http://www.cbnat50.com/central_bank/our_governor.shtml Born on July 31, 1961, to a technocrat father, (Permanent Secretary, Foreign Affairs–1960s), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Aminu Sanusi is the grandson of a former Emir of Kano and Islamic Scholar, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi. He started his western education at St. Anne Primary School, Kakuri, Kaduna (1967-1972). He had his West African School Certificate at the prestigious King’s College, Lagos in 1977. He then proceeded to the equally prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1981 and he did the course work for Master of Science degree in Economics with distinction in Monetary Policy in 1983. He earlier did his National Youth Service in former Gongola State (now Adamawa and Taraba States). So did he receive this undergraduate degree in economics in 1981 or 1983? Did he receive this MSc in economics in 1983? I'm kind of confused. And also puzzled about the inconsistencies. If anyone can find an official CV which lists dates and degrees, let me know. |
naijaking1:Hrm, you appear to be correct. I read the Wikipedia page which falsely claims he got a Msc in Economics, and cites the CBN website. However, on the website he only says this: Sanusi Lamido Sanusi CON was born in Kano Northern Nigeria, on July 31, 1961. He obtained degrees in Economics and Islamic Law from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the International University of Africa, Khartoum. After teaching economics for two years at the Ahmadu Bello University, he started a banking career in 1985 with Icon Limited (Merchant Bankers) and later worked with the United Bank for Africa Plc and First Bank of Nigeria Plc.http://www.cenbank.org/aboutcbn/TheBoard.asp?Name=Mr%2E+Sanusi+Lamido+Sanusi+%28CON%29&Biodata=lamido So two questions: 1) How did this rumor of him having a MS in Economics come about? Did someone falsely claim it on his behalf? Or did he somewhere claim this? 2) How on earth did an ordinary economics graduate with no sort of advanced training in his field (either through schooling or work experience) become a CBN head? |
chamber2 on July 06, 2011, 01:34 AM Remember, the poster of this thread is also a core northern muslim.Moreso, Sanusi is rich enough to bribe a handful of igbos to achieve his ambition no doubt. Cosign on this. The problem is that there are many southern collaborationists who are willing to sell out their own people for money. And not just Igbos alone, Yoruba just as numerous. |
manny4life:Thanks for that breakdown. |
naijaking1:Maybe a non-thesis masters? Pure coursework + maybe some sort of cumulative examination at the end? |
manny4life:Alright, perhaps they don't in the "commercial sector" (I don't know what this term means exactly, or how it differs from I guess non-commercial sector.) But BoA (and presumably some other banks) definitely hires quants. |
