RomanceRe: Ladies: Your Ideal Height For A Man? by ektbear: 4:18am On Oct 08, 2012
COOLDUN: Your choice is very good, but mind you that not all what we want that we get. If you are a lady I would advise you to check your age while waiting for Michael Jordans and basket ballers because women have an expiring date. Many single girls today foolishly missed their soul mates because of this your choice of height in men. In the world today 6ft men are rated as the men in the giant zone. I only gave you advice ooo.many were looking for pilots as their ideal choice profession men, but later began to look for an Okada riders at their final minutes. Only advice please.
Lwkmd grin cheesy

anyway, regarding post, I'm not that tall...only 6'1. But so far it hasn't been disadvantageous, since most women I end up meeting are 5'10-5'11 or below and either:

a) don't want someone 6'5+
b) like me enough to balance things out

Anyway it is all good...plenty of fish in the sea no matter your height

CrimeRe: Father Of UNIPORT Student Lynched “for Stealing Phone” Speaks by ektbear: 7:25am On Oct 07, 2012
redsun: Right in the heart of university community. All the perpetrators are all students, undergraduats, and even post graduates. And i wont be surprise if lecturers were involve.
The lynching happened in a suburb far away from the university, yes? So why should the university be shut down?

Moreover, what information do you have that led you to the conclusion that lecturers are involved?
CrimeRe: Father Of UNIPORT Student Lynched “for Stealing Phone” Speaks by ektbear: 7:06am On Oct 07, 2012
redsun: Is the university still open?In a normal world the university should have been closed by now until the crimes are solved. That is not a university for rational learning,it is a citadel of savages. And that is a reflection of nigeria as a country.
Is the uni the scene of the crime?

Climate change will affect most coastal cities. Certainly it isn't as if Lagos is unique in this.

Lagos will probably be better off than New Orleans at least, much of which is already below sea level.

PoliticsRe: Why Are Nigerians In Diaspora So Bitter? by ektbear: 11:21pm On Oct 05, 2012
coogar: you herbs are still here?
if a slave-ship berths @ apapa port tomorrow morning, the op and the other members of his family would be the first to jump into it. i have never seen a more deluded set of people than nigerians! how people still function normally in that chaotic country baffles me and yet a zany-acting twit like the op is coming here to tell porkies! nigerians in diaspora are not bitter, they are just frustrated that a country so blessed with resources stands among the poorest nations in the world!

utter crap....
what would you have them do? online begging like the army of youths in nigeria? you see nigerians who are doing their jobs honestly and you are casting aspersions? it is from those menial jobs that many of them feed families @ home, build houses and support young ones in school. a security officer abroad earns more than most bank managers in nigeria - so i ask, what's your grief with a nigerian female cleaning euston station? there's more dignity in that than your ,,sisters fücking politicians every weekend to make ends meet!
weaseloo: Thank you very much for this post. Just the other day someone called me an idiotee (here) because I asked to stop criticising Nigeria and do something tangible in your own personal way to help each other and the country. But the guy in question lives in Niga, so it's not just those abroad.

What I will say is that the criticisms and constant comparing of Nigeria and countries like UK and USA is what has brought so much negativity among us. But we are nothing like those countries because our paths and history are different. We need to understand ourselves and find a way out of our problems. The bitterness and bickering does not help anybody or anything and can never move us forward.

I think we should stop focusing on who and what is victimising us and have a mind set of "What Can I Do To Better The Situation."

We have to do the changing ourselves. No saviour is coming o. We have to get up and act to save this nation.
Well said

oyb: strongly considering the dog thing - problem is i have kids age 3 and 5 - have heard some horror stories about out of control dogs
Well, if it is a breed like german shepherd, they do quite well around children. But for the most part, you won't be letting the dog in your house anyway? It would be in a cage outside of your home...you'd just need to take it for a walk every day for exercise.

as per the gun, in nigeria, legally, you can only get a double barrelled shotgun, and oddly police will advise you against it.
Well, get the shotgun and learn how to use it. And at some point, make a decision about whether you want to get something more. My dad has one. Your security is more important than the law, imo.
CrimeRe: 3 Students Burnt To Death In Uniport by ektbear: 8:01pm On Oct 05, 2012

I was just trying to be nice. Let the pictures continue, then.

Dede1: Your stream of thought is the basic conflict of this discussion. Everybody should not rake millions into an account to be regarded as human. In USA, whether a customer of any bank had deposit of $100.00 or $1, 000,000, he or she attracts the same cordial respect from the bank.

PoliticsRe: Awolowo: Babatope Tackles Achebe by ektbear: 6:37pm On Oct 05, 2012
The main lesson I have learned from this is not to make assumptions again about someone being reasonable, or to hold someone in esteem w/o knowing more about them. I obviously didn't know much about Achebe, to think he was beyond pulling this tribal, biased stunt.

I think what he is saying is, if you are looking for a wife, we have plenty in this church, so start your search here.

He isn't really banning people from outside or whatever...just touting the merits of marrying an RCCG woman.

Which is perfectly reasonable.

PoliticsRe: Awolowo Was Driven By An Overriding Ambition For Power-chinua Achebe by ektbear: 10:17pm On Oct 04, 2012
ACM10: Mention the instances of total blockade that did not allow food, medicine and relief materials to seep in. The perpetrators in Bosnia-Herzegovia are cooling off in Hague.
The onus is on you to prove that Nigeria's blockade was strange and unusual, not on me to find another which is similar. After all, you are the one claiming that it constituted a war crime.
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Was Driven By An Overriding Ambition For Power-chinua Achebe by ektbear: 10:16pm On Oct 04, 2012
What I don't like about this ACM10 fellow is you ask him to provide dates for these supposed pre-war skirmishes/genocides in Nsukka and Gakem occured, he doesn't provide.

You ask him to show how the total blockade is a war crime, he first links to a court founded after 2000. Then his next reference contradicts what he even said.

He asked me for a reference backing up my claim that Ojukwu refused the conditions which Nigeria offered for aid shipments, I provided it and even took the time to type out of a book.

It is really annoying to discuss with people like this.
