hoopLA: Don't you see traits of self-absorbed megalomania disorder manifesting in this Edo pounded yam and palm wine consumer? Only a loudmouth empty barrel keeps trying to justify itself even when there is no need to. We won. Simple enough. Accomplished top spot. in the knockout stage for the first time in four years. But this loud mouthed broken drum won't let us hear, spamming these pages with unnecessary "facts" just to prove he is the "soccer king". Whoever coronated it with that title is an idiot and whoever believes it makes anysense shouldn't have been born. I wonder why we even engage this insecure lonely,attention-seeking, emotionally brittle bald old man on any level of discourse when it is clear it is bordering on lunacy.
Look at this stupid Yoruba dirty man who shits in his bedroom and dinning, in the morning he throws the faeces in front of his door step.
You are an idiot and a compound fool.
I have my opinion, and rightly given. Lukaku struggled last night missing two good chances. He scored to redeem himself and people here were blaming our man of the match to prove what nonsense? Just to support their poor defence of Lukaku bad hold up play against Arsenal, they shifted blame.
I didn't expect Lukaku to play poorly against CSKA.
Against Arsenal he was poor, and not because he didn't score.
The first time I criticized Lukaku was against Arsenal, although he had been showing signs of poor contribution for about a month now. Now, someone said it is because of Rooney I attacked Lukaku. Na wa!
sinizia: Elampiro's opinions on Ukaku has nothing to do with Rooney. Elampawa might be a hardened Rooney fan, but his criticism of Ukaku is borne out of his desire to see Ukaku do well especially when chances are presented to him. We all want Ukaku to do well, sometimes I feel it's out of frustration, especially seeing other strikers score easily, that makes us react to Ukaku's misses. But Rooney has nothing to do with it.
I tire o
When I even supported Lukaku's coming. It looks like I am the only one who has never called him Jambody
I did not see anyone single rating sight that put Lukaku above Rashford. They were unanimous in stating Rashford caused CSKA all sort of trouble from the start. But to some here, Rashford was the reason Lukaku was not having stats. That's painful to my ears.
Romelu Lukaku – 7 It looked like another night of struggle for the Belgian but Lukaku got his goal after Pogba’s sublime pass
Marcus Rashford – 8 The striker caused all sorts of problems showing no fear against the CSKA defence. Rashford missed a chance with a scuffed effort early on but made no mistake when presented with..
Manchester United secured top spot in Group A of the Champions League after coming from behind to beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Vitinho had put CSKA ahead (45) in bizarre fashion despite the ball appearing to come off Alan Dzagoev, who looked two yards offside. But United - sparked by impressive performances from Marcus Rashford and the returning Luke Shaw - turned the game around in a 66-second period with goals from Romelu Lukaku (65) and Rashford (66). http://www.skysports.com/football/man-utd-vs-cska-mosc/384329
Marcus Rashford 7.5 – Made life hell for CSKA’s defence – especially Vasili Berezutski, who looked like he needed a wheelchair by the end – from the very start, bursting in behind with reckless abandon and eventually claiming a much needed winning goal with 25 minutes left.
Romeu Lukaku 7 – Yet another complete striker’s performance from the Belgian, this time crowned with a smart finish to pull the hosts level. Continually stretched CSKA’s defence and always threatened with the ball at his feet.
eph12: If Lukaku was played to add to his stat, his teammates are not making it easy for him
patrickmuf: Even in celebration, some folks can't resist passing snide remarks about others...We played well but instead you want to start an argument...Folks, let's ignore those hell bent on dividing our fan base here.
Not when you guys blamed our best player (Rashford) on the night, and exonerated the culprit who had the best chances to put us ahead in the first half.
Go back and read comments and see who divide the house by blaming wrong players just to justify their support for one playing poorly.
We have players who are business like or try to give 100% of their ability. In the attack, Rashford are Lingard at top. In midfield, Herrera and Matic.
Some other guys, sometimes they think it's children's play with unnecessary leg over. They are very good footballers, but not business like every time they get the ball.
chrisley024: Which one is woeful night Nawa for you. I guess you didn't see the chance he created for Rashford. The chance you're shouting he missed was saved by the GK and he had no space and not well positioned
I saw the chance. Rashford had a far better night, but people were here blaming Rashford. Rashford still shot, but went off target.
CapitalCee: Oga go and sit down. It's obvious you have an agenda against some players
You have an agenda. Did Lukaku not miss an empty net from two yards? Was he not slow to react to Pogba's perfect ball?
But when I read this thread, I saw where people were blaming Rashford when the scores stood at 0-0 and 0-1. Rashford who had a far better night than Lukaku. Just because there was an argument, people shifted blame to the young lad. The only ball Rashford could have scored was a poor attempt at goal. But it was still an attempt.
Good Lukaku has scored. Let’s see how it helps his confidence. See I don't watch match alone, so I hear what people say about our players. Even other fans.
CapitalCee: But to say the truth, that Lukakus goal is an outstanding goal. But nobody will applaud him. Morata today cost Chelsea top spot by missing sitters, but the Einsteins said its only Lukaku that miss chances. Ok oo
Lukaku also missed na.
Morata tested the goalkeeper from unexpected positions.
No one has said Morata or Aguero can't miss sitter. Honestly, Lukaku only scored to redeem his woeful night.
eph12: I hope we are seeing how Lukaku is useless and does nothing for the team?
He finally redeem himself after his night was going to an embarrassing end. He missed an empty net, and another occasion he was slow to react to a perfect through ball from Pogba.
eph12: I brought up Rooney's name first? Why would i do that?
Maybe not you, but some actually called for him to be benched. I was responding to them. Lukaku has not even been close to 80% but so has the team. Nobody is asking why our midfield is overrun or why we are having a lot of disjointed attacks but they want a Lukaku that does not have the speed of Aguero to be at the winds to cross the ball and also be at the 18 to nod it.
You mean a midfield that has world class Pogba is overrun? That can't be true.
eph12: His missed clear cut chances are only well pronounced because they are quite few. After all he has missed almost same number of big chances as other strikers so why is his case different? People are now making it seem like he has missed 10 big chances and others have missed 2-3. Kilode
You guys were arguing that for every goal scored by Aguero, Kane, Lacazette, that they miss three clear cut chances. That was why I brought that chart to show they all miss same number of big chances, but Lukaku is a poorer scorer currently. If he scores the typical strikers goals, his stats will be up. E be like he even miss penalty sef.
eph12: Can u name just one striker that will do better in our current set up, especially the period when we had a short one in midfield and Lukaku had to come deep to get involved? .
Criticizing a player doesn't mean we are saying he should be benched for another. We are not disputing his scoring ability, but there are areas we have highlighted you people don't want to see. Okay, Lukaku is 100%, he is world class striker, world class hold up play and bringing others into play. Are you happy now?
eph12: At highlighted then why you bringing his name up in this discussion? Ihenacho had a better goal/minute ratio for City but we know who the better striker is
You brought up Rooney's name in comparison.
Ihenacho is like Chicharito, play them for 30 minutes, they score the much elusive goal to win the match. At such situations, everyone is playing to the arrow head. But start them, they become ghost or headless chicken. I remember when people used to argue that Chicharito is our best striker based on such stats.
hoopLA: This megalomaniac doesn't know when to chop his L.
First Assist ko, First assurance ni.
Pogba had two assists Saturday, inspite of whatever you say.
You claimed Pogba was a sh1tty player in the past, but he created the most chances for us last season. Now you have jumped on to the Lukaku-is-playing-badly bandwagon.Despite enough evidence to the contrary over his performance on Saturday from established soccer journalists that are objective enough to call it as they see it, unlike you the cros-eyed dimwit. You have now shifted to chances missed, but even folks are telling you that you are chatting your usual barrel of sh1t with your so-called facts.
I'd rather go deaf than listen to you and your kpokpo garri analysis where you chat enough sh1t to keep waste disposal companies busy.
Blowing unnecessary grammar for who, I don't know. Instead of agreeing you goofed, you are here spoiling English.
Please prove Pogba had a poor season last year, instead of shoving your measly analysis down our throats.
All for the sake of refusing to admit that you goofed in your criticism.
I pity the unfortunate village woman who marries you sha. Na to just dey kitchen dey pound yam for you be her sentence for life.
Abeg don't even bother to respond. I don't have enough time to engage in dispelling sh1t talks like you do.
Tai! Mata and Rooney were the ones who were the most creative last season(in terms of chances created), not Pogba. Mata created a chance every 36 minutes.
You and the four people who liked your comment are football ignoramus.
eph12: So the Rooney we have at everton is no more old?
3 goals in one match boosted his stats. I am not convinced that he can carry on scoring at that rate. He is currently ahead of Lukaku on goals per minutes, but he wont be near Lukaku at the end.
Lukaku is not just doing enough looking at his play at United, particularly in recent matches. That's my argument.
The right thing to do because if we had appealed we would have lost and get the ban extended. I looked at it several times, he was guilty. If I mentioned it, they would think it was an extension of my argument against Pogba.
He was in control of the ball and lost it to a 50-50 if not 40-60 tackle, then he still went into it with force not minding a human leg was at risk. If it was the sheen that was exposed, does it mean Pogba would climb it to break it instead of falling over the leg?
He didn’t show any sign that he tried to avoid landing on the guys leg heavily.
The goals will come if he spends more time there and he has the team to bring the ball to him. Even against small teams we were still struggling to string passes and get the ball to him. Because he hardly gets the ball, everybody wants him to score that one clear cut chance that falls to him but it doesn't work that way. Strikers need chances to score goals. Even the goal that he scored against Newcastle he did the work by himself.
I think the other argument was about him not linking play well but compared to other strikers this will be difficult to prove.
Do you remember our match against West Ham in FA cup 2013? They were leading us 1-0 and time was far spent, then Ferguson brought RVP. West Ham still looked like scoring 2-0 in the dying minutes.
Then Ryan Giggs threw a long pass to Van Persie who ran to equalize late at West Ham and saved us from elimination. Typical striker goal. See the video below:
Lukaku has had easier chances, but still couldn't go on to take a shot at all. Sometimes strikers just give you the day from half chance even when you park the bus. I gave you guys the case of Rooney vs City in 2012 when he was isolated up front and playing at half line.
Of the top 6 teams City, Man Utd and Arsenal have played against Chelsea away this season I am comparing the heatmap of Lukaku vs Lacazette vs Jesus the main strikers in this game and make your deductions about the average positioning of Lukaku
his will show you that its the tactics deployed thats making Lukaku ineffective in scoring goals
That shows Jesus and Lacazette are spending more time in the box and playing more centrally compared to Lukaku in a similar game yet we are wondering why he isnt scoring as much
I am sure Lukaku would have preferred to be in the box and centrally like other strikers
All the matches you listed, did Gabriel or Lacazette score even if they played inside the box? ;D
We are not even too worry about Lukaku's goals return. I said it a million times already. But his ability to affect play whenever he plays or whatever pattern. You play outside the box, you are given a chance to go on one vs one with the goalkeeper, you take a heavy touch that gives the ball to the goalkeeper. The defenders collects the long balls with ease and build an from their zone unhindered. May be he is over used and tired.
I remember when Rooney played false 9 against City in 2012 in an FA cup match. I think we won 3-2 (not too sure of the score). He made Kompany and his partner to suffer by dragging them out of position and holding the long balls to bring Nani and co into play. Then Rooney ran into the box again to nod in from crosses.
Against Watford, who sent Lukaku to play outside the box? Did we also park the bus? Did we not score 4 goals? Abi na for half line we score 4 goals ni?
CapitalCee: Your Lukaku debate with dayo and eph12. Hope you won't rue it later. Just like the Pogba scenario where you were defending yourself against a lot of people
Then there must be bunch of immature people here who can't understand simple English. Their misunderstanding of the Pogba's criticism is what have led to the continued Pogba's scrutiny. It is most likely going to go on for eternity now, even if Pogba wins a Ballon'dor. When Pogba performs at all, they will come out to want to say why did we ever criticize him. When he flops, like he is having 5 missed Clear cut chances this season, I will announce his negative.
Tell me anything I have said that is wrong about Lukaku. The guy played poorly against Arsenal, he has been like that for couple of games. I even have to defend him. Even now, I am not holding him for not scoring, but for his poor general contribution as a supposed top striker.
CapitalCee: This elampiro hope you wont be crying fowl few months from now when you will require 15 pages to exonerate yourself of the "facts" you are saying here.
raumdeuter: SInce you are trying to prove that Lukaku misses more than them, What is the miss per minute?
Lukaku hasnt missed any game this season so if he has the same number of miss as Lacazatte that means Lacazette has been more wasteful
Aguero stays in the box, Lacazette stays in the box Morata is the arrowhead f the chelsea attack and many chances fall to him
Lukaku doesnt get many chances. in the last 3 games of Man Utd how many chances has Lukaku got?
I can only remember one header, the miss vs Watford thats it
I am not arguing who miss more. Going back to basics, we complained about what he does while not scoring. It was some guys here who kept taking about style of play, and that others get three times his chance. Na lie. They all get 3-4 chances per game.
Big chances missed shows for every goal scored, Aguero, Lukaku miss one big chance. But Salah, Kane and others have better records. So the impression that Salah, Aguero etc have 3X the chances of Lukaku per match has been nullified by stats.
How will Lukaku get chance when his heavy touch pushes the ball to the goalkeeper instead of beating him as we had against Arsenal?
eph12: OK it's no more about his goals but his link up? Do you know he wins more aerials than other top strikers in the league? Do you know none of them have more assists than him despite playing in a more attacking team and him having to operate more from deep?
He wins 3.5 headers per 90 minutes out of 7.1, and defensive clearance from corner kicks adds to his stats.
How many Assists? Against Watford, when he didn't get goal to score, he started dropping deep to involve in play.
eph12: I know what big chance means. This stat don't tell the full story
The stats are the best facts. Not you guys' claims that Aguero gets three times more chances than Lukaku. Whereas they get almost same number of chances per 90 minutes.
raumdeuter: Aguero has 1 more goal than Lukaku and I am sure he has at least 1 penalty goal, Morata stays in the box more than Lukaku and if you watch Morata you wont say Lukaku misses more chances, Do you watch Chelsea and see the chances Morata misses. Did you see the number of chances Lacazette miss? even yesterday did you see the chances he missed yesterday alone were probabbly more than Lukaku has got in the last 3 games
What is their goals per minutes? Lukaku is scoring one goal in two matches while Aguero is scoring one goal in one match. Aguero sometimes beat a man to create shooting space. Lukaku doesn't do that.
Who doesn't miss a chance, Lukaku has been missing one vs one. He made us to drop points in two or three matches.
