I don't know how that kind of a thing can happen to a professional player. That to me was worse than the missed clear cut chance and two Assists. It is the worst move in the EPL this season.

I knew Lukaku didn’t have a good first touch and he had a bad close control. But to have a self accident like that, all alone with the ball, is a calamity.

Old man Ibrahimovic made more impact in the limited time he played.

The clear cut chance Lukaku missed came about from Ibrahimovic's ability to retain the ball under tight marking in inside City's box. Ibrahimovic controlled the cross, retained the ball while ensuring body balance, and then played back to Mata who lobbed it over the wall to Martial.

If it were Lukaku in same position as Ibrahimovic, he would have made Mata to look like mumu there. Lukaku would never have thought of controlling and passing back to Mata.

Chances don't come when some members kill clever build up play, or running with the ball into the bush during counter.

When Fernadinho went to defence was the period Lukaku ran into self accident having ran clear into large 'acre' of space with great opportunity to go give a tap in to a team mate. It was same period he gave the second Assist also.

Mourinho actually needs to change his philosophy. I no defend am again. Van Gaal played Europa big matches with Cameron Jackson, Rashford, Verela, Carrick in defence, went out to attack and still gave a good account of himself.

I expected Lukaku to have a bad game, any striker we use with this our current style of play will struggle. Pep is king at winning balls back and mounting pressure. These kind of games will always expose Jose for the kind of coward he is. United has almost never really played good football, sustaining possession for a long time. Anybody that has been following football and the team knows we were really going to struggle. It's not an upset.

Lukaku is not going to get those chances he used to get at Everton when they played their co-mid table teams. Any team playing against City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal park the bus and give their best defensive approach because a draw to them means victory. It is going to be always tight, and he has to get used to it. If he cannot, it is a pity.

The examples you listed are what he does occasionally and doesn't mean he's good at them.

The fact still remains this team has problem with keeping the ball, passing, movement and creating chances.

Was this not Lukaku who turned four Chelsea defenders inside out before scoring. Went between two defenders on the left, turned Mikel, then turned Cahil. This is a good solo goal after dribbling past four defenders.

This guy is simply not in form. May be too he is nervous due to the big club he finds himself.

Don't tell us Lukaku only score from tap-ins situations or from clear cut chances.

He is not the reason Mhki can't make passes or goes into ghost mode in games. Sth he, Mhki, also did last season. Maybe Lukaku caused it while at Everton or why is it you didn't blame Ibra?. Our attackers are even much better this season so your claim is false. He's not technically poor if he has all these attributes you listed. Still shows you do not know him. One of his strengths is being at defenders shoulders and getting through passes, cos he is strong he can hold his ground and score like vs CSKA. He needs to spend more time in the box and be fed with through balls and crosses which I've been lamenting about not this style we're playing.

Last season, this guy took the ball from half line (right side), paced down to score Sunderland. Yesterday, from same situation he lost control of the ball with no one in sight to mark him.

Everton is a small club with less expectations. Lukaku is proving not to be a big game player.

People complain about chances, but chances come from good build up play by everyone. Kane would start a build up play and position to finish it.

However, my major complaint against Lukaku is not lack of goals, but other things he could have done while not scoring.

Which professional football will lose the ball after outpacing his nearest marker completely and with no pressure. Gabriel Jesus, Aguero, Kane, would have created a clear cut chance out of that situation.

There were signs that if we played attacking football, we could have won. I think I am beginning to accept that Mourinho has to change his approach.

Gabriel Jesus beats a man and miss. If Lukaku beats a man and miss, I can take it. It shows he would score from one of such situations. But Lukaku hardly beats a man, so he scores from chances others provide. That's why he should take most of them.

Plenty of pace in our attack.

If City wins today, it will be a big weekend for them. Only Tottenham has gotten maximum points so far among the big six.
