Despite Liverpool dominating this match completely and playing in opposition's box, they have not been able to create a clear cut chance. Except when Mane beat a man and ran clear where he should have passed the ball to his team mate for an easy finish.
Salah has been very busy trying to make something happen as usual, and he eventually go something out from almost nothing.

Same here. Dakho has 2 tackles and 1 interception the whole season according to what I see from squawka. http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2017/2018/romelu_lukaku/819/819/897/38/p|premier_league/2017/2018/harry_kane/819/819/856/47/p|premier_league/2017/2018/diafra_sakho/819/819/15035/0/p|premier_league/2017/2018/sergio_ag%C3%BCero/819/819/564/0/p|premier_league/2017/2018/%C3%A1lvaro_morata/819/819/1847/0/p#key_passes/successful_take_ons_%/total_forward_passes/defence_score/interceptions/blocks/tackles_won/pass_completion/aerial_duels_won/clearances#total

lekkie073: elampiro, is it true dat Murray scored in a game utd won by a goal to nil I didn’t mince my words the first time brought the Brighton vs Manchester united game. Murray played at half line and Lukaku played in the box and still didn’t score. Murray is currently beating Lukaku in goals per minutes. Therefore, playing at half line in big games is not a license to have a poor overall goals return. Again, I brought lowly rated strikers who scored against big teams playing at half line. Therefore the excuse that Lukaku cannot score because he plays at half line is null and void. We also saw that Lukaku has low pass accuracy in opposition's half when compared to opposing strikers. His passing accuracy is very high in our own half, but poor in opposition's half. Lastly, I exposed Lukaku as one not involved in defensive duties when compared to other strikers in the league. I think I am done with this. |

slimghost: people laugh at Elamps but it's clear enough he is arguing with FACTS. We complained that Lukaku has not been scoring enough, some confused Football Einsteins attributed it to him having plenty defensive duties (which is quite a juvenile claim and laughable ). Elamps now brought out stats to show players with more defensive duties scoring more than their god Lukaku. Still they don't get it!
You guys can argue all you want but every real UTD fan truly knows Lukaku has not performed reasonably well so far. I cannot spend a fortune to purchase an amphibious vehicle and when I realize the vehicle can only be used on land and complain to the company, they will SIMPLY tell me " it's because it runs faster on ground". Damn it! I bought the damn car for a reason!
That said, I am quite sure Lukaku will come good but it's pure MADNESS for anybody to tell me not to criticize him when he serves us shitt. I am with you 100%" We are all Lukaku fans, but it doesn't mean we cant analyse his game. We are not saying our style of play doesn't affect his goal scoring. But inside that style of play there are many things he could do in certain situations to help the team. He has failed in those aspects. We have shown them stats to prove he is lagging behind on goals. We have shown them charts to prove that playing at half line is not a license not to score. We have shown them stats to prove that he is lacking in defensive duties. They have run out of ideas and some of them have resorted to insults, like the guy with the moniker "hoopLA". He thinks I am disturbed by his insults. He cannot argue with 10 people and add that to his primary life duty. If he tries it, his brain will cease, yet he wants to pick on my Glenn Murray mistake, the same Glenn Murray I clearly said he didn't score against us the first time I mentioned him. HoopLA decided to resort to insults because he knows he cannot match my superior arguments. People who insult during debates lack ideas. |

Sakho vs Manchester City Isolated upfront Won 3 Tackles, 1 Interceptions
That is a match he came on as substitute in 43rd minute.
Lukaku has never had an Interception in the EPL. When we told guys here that Sakho's work rate while isolated exposes Lukaku's inefficiency, they attacked us.
Chrisley024, you can see that a striker playing upfront in isolation can win Tackles and Interceptions. It takes Lukaku 3 matches to win 1 tackle, and he has never won an Interception this season.

Blocks distribution also shows Morata has more shots blocked than passes blocked. On the other hand, Lukaku has more passes blocked than shots blocked. |

chrisley024: Lukaku has better blocks almost double than Kane. Just as I pointed out, teams that press high from front will force mistakes which are reflected in the interception and tackles. Off all these strikers, Lukaku is just behind Aguero and Kane in defence score and the best in aerial duels won. I cannot compare this season and last cos of many reasons.
Let me take your last statement as trolling cos even Lingard has a far better defence score. I'm done with this merry-go-round. You are looking at the wrong stats. Lukaku has 7 blocks in the EPL Kane has 7 blocks Kane played less minutes. Kane has 13 clearances and Lukaku 12 |

chrisley024: Not unexpected. Logically, teams that play high line are more likely to have their strikers make more interceptions unlike teams that stay back and isolate their striker. How is he gonna make interception in the midst of 3-4 players? Same with tackles.
When compared to Laca, Jesus, Aguero and Giroud in defensive work per mins: Blocks - Lukaku is 1st Clearances - 2nd behind Giroud, and dude is even 1st in aerial duels won.
It is Klopp's style and he uses 3 upfront for this cos only a player cannot do it. Reason Jose is now using Lingard cos of Mhki laziness Kane has the better record on blocks. The only person I had the time to compare with Lukaku's record per minutes. Yet he has better defensive record than Lukaku. Lukaku is not isolated in small games. How come Ibrahimovic (from last season) has better defensive record than Lukaku. Is it not same team? But you mean Lukaku is no longer playing at half line with defensive duties but isolated upfront? What is defensive duties if it is to just stay at half line? From what we see now, Lukaku is the one making Mkhitaryan poor. |

chrisley024: Big lie! The picture you painted is over exaggerated just as you claimed his last performance was woeful. A striker that has fallen short in all aspects cannot have 8 goals and 4 assists even when we all see he now spends more time outside the opponent's box, drags defenders out and opening spaces for our attackers to score as we see in Martial and Lingard scoring. Dude is average in his technical abilities which is obvious to everyone before we got him and he is improving on that.
And I don't know how missing a pen translates to 'he misses penalties' just to score cheap points just as you claimed Murray scored at OT. He scored 7 of those goals in the first 6 weeks of the season. Since then he has fallen short. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 10:25pm On Dec 08, 2017 |

Defensive duty
2016/2017 Ibrahimovic
Tackles 0.4 per game Interception.0.4 per game Clearances 0.8 per game
2017/2018 Lukaku
Tackles 0. 3 per game Interception nil per game Clearances 0.8 per game
Lacazette has higher defensive stats than Lukaku and Ibrahimovic
Giroud has higher defensive stats than Lukaku
Gabriel Jesus, Aguero and Sterling (in that order) have far higher defensive stats than Lukaku
So Lukaku just stay at half line and does nothing. You see?
This argument is over.

sinizia: So it means Ukaku had no chance to miss any goal against Loserfool? You see what we're talking about? Meaning he didn't even see a defensive error to score from? So you see why Ukaku couldn't score like Joselu?
He squandered the chance to have a one vs one (not that he had a one vs one and missed o) against Arsenal, it's just one. But he played a part in Lingard's goal. He's not perfect, and he'll miss goals. Morata actually had one vs one against Atletico and missed it. So you see, strikers do miss chances.
I've criticised Ukaku before for being technically limited. We knew this before we bought him. Last match, Ukaku did one-two with a team-mate, linked well with his team-mates too. He's not a top striker, but there's room for improvement. He's trying, maybe not as we expected, but he's trying. Let's give him some time. He is not having those chances because he is poor. The other players from small teams who scored against big teams, also didn't have chances. They forced it. Lukaku has had chances against top teams and didn't score. |

sinizia: Too much reliance on stats is bad. A month ago Adelana posted a stat that showed that Iago Aspas and about 3 other strikers scored goals that "won their teams more points" than Messi, Suarez and C. Ronaldo.
An unintelligent football analysts will foolishly declare Aspas as a better striker than Messi and Co. Afterall his goals were more "important" and Messi /CR7 were scoring "unimportant" league goals. But we know better.
Morata scored more "important" goals than Benzema, but Benzema is the top striker at Madrid till now while he's sold off.
Too much dependent on stats is bad. Cisse was scoring for fun for Newcastle in his debut season, using your analogy, he shouldn't had stop scoring for fun the next season.
Nothing is constant, Bro. Suarez was once prolific, right now he looks like the ghost of the real Suarez.
Murray might come January and even stop scoring for 10 matches in a row. Nothing is constant. There is a difference in using stats to give report AS AT a given date and using stats to generalize (the future) You have to understand that I am not using stats to tell that Lingard or Murray or Fellaini is a better scorer than Lukaku. We are saying that we are justified with these stats that Lukaku is currently poor and we have the right to complain. His pass at opposition half, for instance, is a disgrace. His goals vs top scorers is way behind. His goals per minutes played is a disaster. He has scored one goal since September ending, and they said we should not talk. |
