chrisley024: Surprised Valencia wasn't introduced since he's more offensive and Mata taken off for Herrera. But when we didn't even have a CF cos the coach was being conservative then you won't be surprised. May be he has the FA Cup tie in mind. |

Pic 5. Now Darmian has to chace the pass which he could have stopped if he man marked the Spurs guy.
The rest is history.

First goal.
Pic 1. Smalling and Blind went for same aerial ball, both missed and fell to the ground.
Pic 2. Carrick joins Smalling to battle for the loose ball. Blind still on the ground. Darmian is playing Dele Alli onside.
Pic 3. Darmian is not alert to the fact that someone has come to take a position in his front. He is also still playing Dele onside.
Pic 4. A pass is going to the Spurs guy in front of Darmian.

The first goal was the fault of Smalling and Blind. They both went for same ball (dropping ball) and missed it. Two or three of our players against one, we lost the battle. The ball went to Darmian's angle for a cross, he was not even alert to the run of the Spurs player who crossed the ball.
Second goal came from a free kick from Darmian's angle. I have forgotten what led to the free kick, but I supposed it was his poor marking. Then Rojo couldn't jump high to head away the set play. Mensah would have headed that away with fun.
The third goal again was from Darmian's angle. He just allowed the crossing from his side.
The major problem was not the goals, but the pressure Darmian put us into while he came on. Apart from winning his first tackle, he couldn't do anything meaningful afterwards, either defending or going forward.

chrisley024: No, Spurs saw the weakness in LvG's tactics after half time. I'm just watching the post match analysis where they showed his formation was skewed and unbalanced with players on the left side leaving the right only for the RB and that's the weak spot Spurs utilized.
So it is very possible we would have lost with Mensah still on cos I'm yet to see Darmian's error that led to any of the goals. Our CBs fumbled big time.
Lots of players like Mata, Lingard and Rojo were poor in the game and he made a waste of the sub.
What I don't even understand is his use of Young as a CF if not maybe to try and contain Spurs But Mensah covered his position and even went uncountable times to bail out Smalling and Blind in the middle. About two of the goals came from Darmian's position. Mensah's short coming was his lack of attacking play. Rojo did better in going forward. |

May be it would have been better for Rashford to complete the game. There was no connection between Young and Martial. Young is not match fit, and he did nothing rightly today. |

Smalling and Mensah should form our CBs until Jones finds match rythm. Blind offers nothing in aerial battle, and Rojo is also weak in aerial duel.
Darmian was our weakest link. He should be sold at the end of the season while Mensah gets promoted.

We dominated the opening minutes, after then we have been lucky not to concede. The inexperience of the youngsters is showing again like the Liverpool game. Lingard, Rashford are not seen. Martial is the only one holding play for us but he gets crowded out, sometimes he stays too long on the ball.
Our defence has been exposed time and time again. |

Sunderland had very poor forwards whose final decisions were sub standard. Those forwards, bar Defoe, are only good for East African leagues. |

"Questions will be asked whether he will be happy with his utd career? Of course he will be happy.. endless amount of trophies where he played his part.. However, knowing Nani as I do, I do believe he would have wanted more games & to have influenced more consistently during his United tenure!
He was blessed with lots of attributes, having the tools to match most in the world - pace, power in both feet, skill, strength...I could go on. It's one thing having all that it's another putting it all together....week in week out.
"Of all the players I've played with during my career, if I wanted someone to beat someone 1 vs 1 & it was do or die he would have been one of my first picks for sure. He can go either way, off either foot, tricky & lightening quick - a defenders nightmare."
A player who could have hit the heights
If Manchester United were to produce a highlights reel of Nani's best moments at the club, it could be quite spectacular, with trickery, assists, and long range goals.
The bloopers reel however would be quite something too, with numerous shots blazed off target and crosses failing to get anywhere near the intended destination
Rio Ferdinand. . |

We would also have already be calling for a bailout if we did not change our corrupt government. Buhari even had to bail out states with nearly 1 trillion naira within just four months of his coming to power. ..
