Last two monthshuh

After DDG and Smalling.... Blind has been the most consistent player for United this season. We need to cut the dude some slack jare, his ability to play out of defence and his intelligence on the ball have been huge for United.

Our season have been messed up mainly because of LVG, LVG's gamble on Memphis thinking he was gonna hit the ground running and the crazy injuries we had between November and January.
How can Blind be better than Martial. However, due to his availability, I could agree he has done well.

His lack of aerial prowess has caused us so much pressure and we conceded many goals from set plays. It's because of him Gaal usually played Fellaini when Rojo and other defenders were injured. Twice we substituted Fellaini on 80+ mins , we conceded late goals. One of the matches against Southampton. He has been outpaced many times, sometimes DDG would come to the rescue.

He looks good because we are forced to play deep because of him, and Schneirderlin and Rojo protect him with their physical presence. Sometimes Carrick or Schweinsteiger act as a third central defender. He has his passing and ball control qualities, no doubt. But are these the first qualities of a defender? Vidic never knew how to pass out the ball from defence.

Reflections on the match
It’s fantastic when you see the joy in the eyes of the players. But also for the fans, because I think we deserved to reach the final. We were the better team in the first half and had so many chances - we could have finished it much earlier. It was an exciting game for the neutral fans and we are lucky that we scored in the last minute, but we deserved to win. I told [Chris] Smalling he was a lucky guy because now we can smile! He played a very good match. Both teams showed a lot of passion and will to win, so I’m very happy that we were the winners.

Pressure of a semi-final
I think the pressure was also for Everton. I think tomorrow when you see the other semi-final, the pressure is very high for every player because every player wants to play in the final, so it is always in my eyes the same. It is not different.

On matchwinner Anthony Martial
He could have scored in the first half when he was in the same situation, so I told him at half-time to shoot low into the corner – and he did that! It was a fantastic finish. I think he can do much better [in the future] because I see a lot of things that he can still improve and he shall improve. Only by training and by playing can you improve. Also, when you are playing at a higher level then you improve. When you are older you know all the things shall happen again. Then you have experience and you can decide much better in the same situation as before.

Can Martial become like Cole or van Nistelrooy?
I don't think that he is a striker; he is more of a wing player, but maybe in the future. But I don't think so - he is a different type of player to van Nistelrooy and the other examples of United strikers.

On goalscorer Marouane Fellaini
Fellaini is a player who wants to perform what we have agreed and I like that. He is also good with his head at set-plays – both for and against us – because we have a small team and he can help us.

On David De Gea
Yesterday we had an exercise with penalties. 20 penalties we have taken - Sergio Romero saved one and David De Gea zero. But today was the most important!

Will Wayne Rooney stay in midfield?
It is dependable on where my players continue. I have explained it also last week. At this moment I think that [Marcus] Rashford does a very good job in the striker's positon and now Wayne can contribute to the team more in midfield. I have seen today a great Wayne in midfield. It is not the first time he has played in midfield. Last year he also played in midfield, then your colleagues said he should play in the strikers' position. Maybe you remember that?

Prospect of an FA Cup final
I like it very much because as a player, manager and staff member, you do everything to win a title and we are very close now.

And next is Blind, maybe even on par with Smalling. Dude has surprisingly done decent job for the club this season. Let's not be biased due to his stature, it is not his making.
He has also cost us many times. He only has been good this last two months. But I didn't miss him when Mensah stood in for him twice.

"I think we deserved to go in the final. I think the referee, we didn't have any foul in our benefit. He changed the match I think.
"We had so many chances, we could have finished it much earlier.
"They [Everton] came in the match because they get all the fouls, all the fouls around the 60 metre area, then the fans of Everton were cheering. In the first half and before that, no [they were not].
"The referees are deciding the game and not the players anymore."

Van Gaal.

…...….................

Hope the refs won't gang up against him?

DDG is the player of the season. Martial comes very close. Smalling the next. Blind has his credit for staying fit. Blind and Lingard have been fit, that's why it's like an injustice to drop them. But on a normal day, they wouldn't be in the starting eleven.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 9:07pm On Apr 23, 2016
Martial's control of the ball is wonderful, mostly on that left side. His dribbling ability, ease of entering the box. He has been so good.

smalling no dey the discussion for player of the season again ?

@all
how Rooney play today?
Rooney played very well. But I don't think Carrick and Rooney are a good sheild to the defence. They did well with the ball, but they didnt tackle much while without the ball. Rooney offered his energy but he refused to dive into tackles, I guess he has Euro 2016 in mind. He however wonderfully saved us from am embarrasing start when he ran all the way back to clear from the goal line after DDG had been rounded by Lukaku.

I will like Phil Jones and Smalling to pair against Leicester, let's see the difference. We should try to have Schneirderlin protecting the defence. Our defending was bad in the second half. From DM to the defence.

Surely Lingard has an extra agreement with Van Gaal. Very wasteful. Sometimes he is not seen. Poor decision making. Although he is hardworking.

We are under so much pressure now.

Lingard had a golden chance to out us 2-0

DDG saved a dubious penalty awarded against us.

This ref is becoming a problem.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 6:11pm On Apr 23, 2016
We could have sealed it in first half. Lingard, Rashford and Martial could have all scored.

Martial is having a good game.

I think we should have been attacking better on the right side if Valencia started.

I wonder why Herrera or Mata did not start. But so far so good.

This guy is badly underrated. When I heard Klopp was wanted to to sell him in January, I said what a mistake.... he is lucky to have kept him.

He added another goal today.

VAN GAAL: FOSU-MENSAH CAN EMULATE SCHWEINSTEIGER

"You have seen that players in my squad are playing in different positions than what they are used to in their former careers. It is also a little bit of luck.

"You can ask Bastian Schweinsteiger who, at Bayern Munich, played on the right side, the right wing. I made him a centre midfielder because I looked at his profile and I thought that he can better play in the middle and he enjoys it more than on the right side.

"I have changed a lot of positions of players."

I know so many people are battling with weight issues. I decided to share these pictures to motivate others no to give up. I used to weight 110kg, i wasn't happy cos to get fitted clothes is a problem. I tried using some drugs to lose the weight but it wasn't helping. I was just too lazy to exercise or diet cos i love food so much.

Then something happened that triggered my determination to lose the weight in a very healthy way, which was dieting and exercising. The only exercise i did was skipping of rope, i jumped rope 30mins everyday. So within 5 months of skipping rope and dieting, i lost a whopping 34kg.

Although my goal was to reach 70kg but Nigerians with their mentality, they were already insinuating I'm HIV positive or I'm suffering from eating disorder. I just had to stop at 76kg, also they said I'm ugly and not good looking anymore. My health is very important to me, I'm healthy, smart and light. Finally i don't spend 6hrs while shopping for clothes anymore, i spend less than 2hrs cos i easily get my size and the best. I love myself but my health is important....
You have done well so far. All you need do now is to get a good balance.

1. Eat a little more

2. Add muscle exercise. Like press up.

3. Don't do skipping everyday.

You will gain a more balanced body stature. Also use a good camera to snap. In the second picture, the camera didn't bring out your real shape.

The points gap between 3rd and 7th is so small. We have to keep winning. We have to win our remaining games.

It looks like Herrera and Fellaini made us worse, particularly Fellaini . So Rooney can even play midfield better than Fellaini.

Lingard is not improving at all.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 8:52pm On Apr 20, 2016
We are missing too many chances.

Rojo should be playing instead of Darmian.

One of Rooney and Lingard should have given way for Herrera to pair Schneirderlin.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 2:04pm On Apr 20, 2016
My major worry is that Carrick will most likely be paired with Fellaini in midfield. Carrick was given rest the last time.

Schneirderlin and Herrera are my favourite.

to bad, rooney would lead the line in tonight's game, he was decent in de no.10 role, thought he would play same role tonight.
I think all our remaining games are important. The league games are more important because there is a great chance of overtaking City. Well, let's pray we win tonight.

But I don't think Rashford is being dropped for Rooney. I think it's a normal move by Gaal. Even SAF use to rest Rooney ahead of important fixtures. Lingard is the easiest man to drop from the current line up.

Okay. Since we're talking generally. What about G. Bale? LB to LW/RW. Even your Jones who started out as a defender almost blossomed into a midfielder under Fergie.
Rare cases. But Bale was quickly converted once his attacking prowess was discovered.

Rashford, our goal machine, will be given a rest today.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly close to signing a new contract.

According to TransferMarketWeb, the 18-year-old is set to put pen to paper on fresh terms worth nearly £14,000-a-week.

He is about to enter the final 12 months of his current deal and United have been keen to tie him down following his stunning breakthrough.

Rashford, who currently earns £1,500-a-week and pockets a £5,000 bonus per first-team appearance has hit seven goals in 12 games since making his debut in the Europa League win over FC Midtjylland in February.

De Telegraaf in Holland state that Manchester United currently have fewer points than the club ever had after 33 rounds of play in the Premier League. However, the Dutchman seems to be firmly in the saddle. In any case stronger than David Moyes two years ago.

At that time the club had after 33 matches 57 points. The criticism of Moyes, who had the thankless task to follow up on the successful, Sir Alex Ferguson, was immense.

Van Gaal and United play Crystal Palace next and the 64-year-old Dutchman seems despite several storms earlier this season not having to fear a similar scenario as Moyes.

Van Gaal won the last five home games with his team, something no other club this season managed in the Premier League.

I think he can start out as a CB and then proceed to be a DM later on. He's decent when attacking and defends well. I think he still needs to develop that alertness when in the middle of the field plus improve on his passing.

We only have to wait and hope he isn't mismanaged like the rest. Can you believe Januzaj will be where he is at the moment 2 years ago?
If he plays in Centre back for one or two full seasons, the only place he will be able to play afterwards is full back.

If his best position is DM, he should be developed there. He can go play defence when occasion warrants. But if he developed as a defender, his latent skills required to excel at the more advanced positions would just die.

Elamps, where do you think is the best position for the lad?
Too early to say. But with his energy and jumping power, I will like him as a CB.

He might also be good as a DM. He has high tackling rate. But it is too young to be played as a DM, his passing might be a problem. He is also a good full back.

Let’s keep watching this guy.
