coogar:This goal was badly needed after Villa pulled one back to put us under pressure. Well placed by Herrera. Good too Rooney read the situation well and jumped off the way. It would have added to many small errors we made. I think Fellaini blocked one goal bound ball. |
If Tottenham can be consistent, they will be a threat. But I don't see that happening. Logging out. I feel tired today. Congrat guys. We won after international break which is very hard to do against a team with players that stayed fresh and studied us over two weeks. |
I can smell UCL football. May God crown it for us. |
ElFenomeno1:We have already told you that it's the result we wanted. Our match with them took away their the best defender in the EPL and their captain, while we dent their confidence. It's very nice whatever is left of their confidence is being destroyed today. |
SailorXY:He doesn't have pace. You remember the penalty that the ref didnt award against Smalling? Did you see how Rojo chased lazily in the run to that penalty? There are other incidences that have shown he lacked pace. Although you will not notice if the defence seats deep, unlike the way we played the last two matches where Jones and Smalling pushed very high. |
The best way to play/partner with Rojo is to stay tight with him. If you leave him alone to go and try and intercept an oncoming threat, don't trust Rojo to be a sweeper behind you or take away the strikers most likely to score. You might be surprised to look behind and Rojo too had drifted away from the centre eye of the defence when he knew very well that his partner has gone away. Then he is always beaten to pace. He is good at aerial balls from outside the box, but I am not so sure he has that same quality from inside the box. Vidic didnt have pace, but he battled well inside the box. But as it's said, he is still under appraisal. |
eminentme:I think it's a trap. May be the brother abroad is suspecting him already and wants to make an inference from your friend's response to this evil suggestion. There is a hidden agenda from this suggestion. Your friend must not fall into it. Let him prove to his brother abroad that he respects him to the extent he cannot afford to think of such a act, not to talk of doing it. |
Danhumprey:Jose Mourinho on Raheem Sterling’s rejected contract: ‘Every player has a price’ Duncan Day Apr 3, 2015, 10:24 PM EDT http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/03/jose-mourinho-on-raheem-sterlings-rejected-contract-every-player-has-a-price/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs I would sell Sterling, says Mourinho http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2015/04/04/10446772/i-would-sell-sterling-says-mourinho?ICID=HP_BN_3 |
Danhumprey:Rojo has a better understanding with McNair. Not any Smalling. He and Smalling make DDG suffer when they pair. |
Rojo makes our central defence to shake. He doesn't read it well or has not struck an understanding with the others. It looks like we have had more shots at DDG when Rojo has played, irrespective who he partnered. May be his lack of pace is part of the problem. |
Wayne Rooney has warned his Manchester United team-mates that their victory over Liverpool will count for nothing if they fail to beat Aston Villa on Saturday. Rooney believes victory over Villa would represent a very good result for United, especially if Liverpool lose at Arsenal. “Yes it was a six-pointer at Liverpool, but that means nothing if we don’t beat Aston Villa on Saturday, “Obviously Arsenal play Liverpool as well, so if we can get the win against Villa that will be an even better result than Liverpool was for us. “I think there are still eight games left. We are in a good position at the minute so it’s in our own hands, so have to make sure we do it.” [Source: Setanta |
Now as the female league kicks off, Oshoala has started destroying oppositions in the Women Super League. ........ Nigeria striker Oshoala was lively before meeting a Gemma Bonner cross to volley home just before the break. Oshoala cut the ball back for Fara Williams to make it 2-0 before Aoife Mannion gave Birmingham late hope. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32046106 |
Forwetinnah:lol. no mind me for the 'ringing'. As for the rest. I don't know what to say. I am not a politician. |
sweetgala:That means PDP rigging have been found out. lol |
Even in Joanthan's home state, the votes for PDP dropped from 505,811 in 2011 to 361,209 in 2015. Buhari's votes increased from 691 to 5,194. Same across the whole of S/S and S/E. People were just tired of the way PDP were handling the country. |
Gbam! South South and South East refused to turn out and lost about 4 million votes when compared to their turn out of 2011. From 11 million votes in these two zones in 2011 to 7 million votes in 2015. South East lost 2.5 million votes from 2011 voters. South South lost 1.4 million votes from 2011 voters. Buhari won by just 2.57 million. Even in Joanthan's home state, the votes for PDP dropped from 505,811 in 2011 to 361,209 in 2015. Buhari's votes increased from 691 to 5,194. Congratulation on a new President. Nihilist, I told you I would revisit the topic after the announcement. Now that the party of share the treasury has been booted out, I can hammer them with heavy words. Imagine a situation where students union leaders became politicians and got compromised with handsome 'handshakes'. People who have no economic contribution were made multi millionaires/billionaires just for being leaders or strongly connected in PDP. Celebrities spoilt with Money meant for general use, that they became hard to control by producers. The worst thing is that these guys didnt feel they owe us any explanation when key economic issues are raised. Instead they attacked the individuals who raised those issues. APC should put things aright, to basics or they too will be booted out in 4 years. Power to the voter! |
larride:DDG is the best this season. However, I cherish a keeper who punches away crosses. It makes life easy for the defenders and make the opposing striker useless. |
dopeJemi:Tell any defender out there that doesnt get dribbled. He was not even completely dribbled. Even Vidic was totally taken off the way by Samuel Eto in UCL final. John Terry has been 'murdered' a few times too. Even Luiz, Thiago Silva who is the most difficult to beat on one vs one. You are here having sleepless night about a young defender thay are trying to give some experience to. He is playing for England and Man United yet you shout no brain. He has been representing England and Man United for years already, at 23. Seat there and be shouting brainless. |
That pic reminds me of how Welbeck looked fragile when e was coming up. He was very skillful but he didnt have the energy to complement his skills. He needed a bit of body building but it appears they over built him in the gym all at once. lol |
A40:Stale! Go back to work. |
Hristo Stoichkov has torn into Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal. Van Gaal managed Stoichkov during his second spell Barcelona. The duo didn't get on, and Stoichkov was regularly benched by the Dutchman - who spent three years at the Nou Camp. And the Bulgarian legend has revealed he has 'no respect' for the United chief as he made unsavoury comments to his wife. "I have no respect for him - he's scum, one day, when I was injured, I was with my wife at Camp Nou and Van Gaal went up to her. "He asked her how it was possible that she married someone like me. She responded that I was a Ballon d'Or winner. My departure in 1998 was the fault of Van Gaal, for sure." [Source: L'Equipe] |
Dadehmola:lol. to think Jonathan won heavily there in 2011. N1.2m to 100k. |
Dadehmola and Nihilist, Which party is winning in Lagos? |
Dadehmola:U no get point. Na same thing I dey talk since. Ikedia didnt have the pace of Messi. If you are on same line with Messi, you are never going to catch him until he has taken a shot or pass. As he is driving the ball, he is extending the gap from you. Abeg this matter is over. |
Nihilist:lol. I will say my mind later on this subject when results are announced. You are right about actors. It was an interesting campaign period. |
Nihilist:Oshobaba is my brother. We are from neighboring local governments. He couldn't have been lamenting about me. ![]() But this election is interesting sha. It shows the people have power. Imagine an incumbent govt getting so scared. Ukwu!!! ![]() |
Dadehmola:You just confirmed Messi has the pace to complement his dribbling. Ikedia didnt even get close to TJ's speed, although he had his speed. Even TJ was not considered to be one of the fastest in the world as Messi is now. However, my initial point was emphasizing Ikedia's dribbling ability and all of a sudden people started bringing Tijani who could not dribble. This was to belittle Ikedia's dribbling ability. It's like talking about Sterling dribbling ability and someone is bringing Craig Bellamy/Walcott speed to confuse the whole stuff. Dadehmola:lol ............................... Here are the top-ten quickest footballers in the world from last season according to FIFA statistics: This was recorded while the players were won the ball. 1. Antonio Valencia – 35.1 km/h 2. Gareth Bale – 34.7 km/h 3. Aaron Lennon – 33.8 km/h 4. Cristiano Ronaldo – 33.6 km/h 5. Theo Walcott – 32.7 km/h 6.Lionel Messi – 32.5 km/h 7. Wayne Rooney – 31.2 km/h 8. Franck Ribery – 30.7 km/h http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/04/06/worlds-fastest-footballer-revealed-not-baleronaldowalcott/page/1/ 9. Arjen Robben – 30.4 km/h 10. Alexis Sanchez – 30.1 km/h |
Dadehmola:You did not vote. |
Dadehmola:Ikedia and Tijani are not suppose to be on same sentence in terms of speed. Tijani and Ahmed Musa are the speed guys who could run 50 yards straight to outpace their markers. Ikedia needed his quickness to do something within 10 to 20 yards. He could go a half field but it was usually stop and move, stop and move. Swerve, turn, dribble, run to advance. Sterling and Val have great speed. Sterling could rival Val sometimes, but while Val can go on high speed for 100 yards, Sterling needs it for just 10 to 20 yards. |
