Pablo Zabaleta is sure Angel Di Maria will become a big success at Manchester United. Di Maria started United’s last two games on the bench although he contributed assists in both and is now waiting to see if he will start Sunday’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford. Manchester City defender Zabaleta is sure his Argentine compatriot will come good and has warned his team‑mates he has the class to hurt them. “I’ve met up with Angel a few times in Manchester and we spoke when we’ve been on international duty together, it’s been a very tough season for him not only on the field but off it as well and that has made things hard for his family. “Sometimes when you are in a different country it can take time to settle well and his high price tag also adds a lot of pressure. “But I have no doubts he will become a big success for United because he’s a top-quality player and if he’s not at his best at the moment, he’s still a great asset to have. “He’s quick, fast and a great dribbler and whenever you play against him you know you are in for a difficult game. He’s the sort of player who can really hurt you if you give him too much space and time. “I speak as a friend rather than a City player. I don’t want United to have great success but I only wish him the best on a personal level.” [Source: Evening Standard] |
South Americans know footballer is a big business. Here fathers discourage their children from football. |
Soccer millionaire di Maria sold for 20 footballs Excerpt: Di Maria's mother Diana would ride more than 10km on a bicycle with her son to take him to training with Rosario Central. She would help him fill coal sacks in his father's business so he could get away earlier. .......In the Union district of Rosario, Messi is admired but football fans say they are loyal to di Maria, who is affectionately known as "Noodle". http://sports.yahoo.com/news/soccer-millionaire-di-maria-sold-20-footballs-011338206--sow.html |
AdeLaNa1:Top 4 is not yet assured. It looks certain but lets hope and pray it materializes fast. |
Former Manchester United No2 Rene Meulensteen feels PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay may find the step to Old Trafford too difficult. "You could say that Ángel Di María, through Real Madrid, was still quite a bit accustomed to what was coming, but in England it is all very different. "He was not able to on a weekly basis make the difference, I find it awfully logical that Manchester United are interested in Memphis, but I'm not going to cry aloud should he not make that step. An intermediate step might not be so strange." [Source: Voetbal International] |
Ronaldo and Messi don't save lives!' - Mourinho baffled by footballers' influence Apr 9, 2015 12:08:57 The Portuguese coach continues to be amazed at the status of footballers when compared to people from other professions Jose Mourinho is baffled at the influence on society of footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, considering they “don't save lives”. The Chelsea boss - one of the most recognisable figures in football - believes people from other walks of life deserve greater status given the tasks they perform on a daily basis. Mourinho also questioned those who regard football as the most important thing in life. "I am passionate about football, of course," the former Real Madrid boss told The Daily Telegraph. "But for us professionals, if it means everything then we are in trouble; and for supporters it is the same. "In Portugal they say that you can change everything except your mum and your football club. I understand football’s power, socially, politically and culturally, but how can a football player be in the top 100 of the most influential people in the world in Forbes magazine?" When it was pointed out to Mourinho that two footballers are in the top 100, Ronaldo (30th) and Messi (45th), he added: "It’s absurd! We don’t save lives! "I know that people can jump from a fifth floor because their team lost a game, but that person has problems. "How can you compare a football player, a football manager with a scientist, a doctor? You cannot compare." Mourinho worked with Ronaldo for three seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he clashed with Messi's Barcelona on numerous occasions, before returning to the Chelsea helm in 2013. After a silverware-less first season back at Stamford Bridge, he lifted the League Cup earlier this year and his Blues have a comfortable seven-point lead in the Premier League with a game in hand. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2015/04/09/10601172/ronaldo-and-messi-dont-save-lives-mourinho-baffled-by |
Ander Herrera wants to stay at Old Trafford for the long term despite interest from La Liga giants Barcelona. Reports in the Spanish media suggest that the Catalan giants are watching the United midfielder as a potential replacement for Spanish ace Xavi. Herrera's recent form hasn't gone unrecognised, with Spanish giants Barcelona seemingly keeping tabs on his performances. Barcelona are currently in the middle of a transfer ban, meaning they won't be able to add to their squad until January 2016, but it appears that they're currently on the lookout to replace Xavi, who looks set to leave the Nou Camp in the near future. United fans will no doubt be overjoyed by the news that Herrera is planning a long stay with the club, he said earlier this week: “I’m very happy. Even when I was not playing, I was also happy. I am at Manchester United. I feel really lucky to be here." Ultimately Herrera looks set for a long successful spell at Old Trafford, and not even Barcelona will be able to stop that from happening. ''We want to give United fans something to smile about when they go to work on Monday morning,'' United captain Wayne Rooney said. ''We want them to be the ones to be able to give out the banter to Manchester City fans at work.'' |
Varane is amateur. We cannot afford another amateur in our team. Is Nicolás Otamendi really good? |
His willingness and ability to bring the ball out from the back is what sets him apart from most and the consensus seems to be that this makes him a prototypically Louis van Gaal type of defender. The focus on Hummels’ adeptness on the ball partially hides the reality of his drawbacks, however. While comfortable technically, Hummels physical and athletic traits would lead to discomfort within the confines of the Premier League. The old ‘cold night in Stoke’ analysis may be clichéd, among other things, but it’s worth pointing out that it was Hummels who was unceremoniously brushed off the ball by former team-mate Robert Lewandowski at the weekend, a moment that led to Lewandowski heading home for the only goal of the game as Bayern Munich beat Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion. It’s not the only time Hummels has struggled against fast and/or strong opponents; over two legs Juventus’ Alvaro Morata terrorised him with his pace and directness, even barging Hummels off the ball on occasion, as Juventus hammered Dortmund 5-1 on aggregate in the Champions League second round. |
He’s a ball-player but he’s not the quickest…I think he could get exposed (in the Premier League)…I think Man United need a powerful defender…who is very physical and very aggressive, and that is definitely not Hummels. - Speaking of Hummels during Dortmund’s loss to Bayern, former Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves told BT Sport |
coogar:Okay, we have heard you. You can go and negotiate Cleverley's Barca transfer. Summer is at hand. ![]() |
coogar: Nihilist coming for you. |
I agree with Coogar. The pupil who solves 1+1 knows arithmetic better. The student who solves calculus knows mathematics better. dopeJemi whay can't you recognize the difference between the two? Ukwu!!! ![]() |

There are footballers who need a wide space before they can ask for the ball while there are others who are always asking for the ball. |
Herrera is receiving so much praises back home in Spain. |
Wilfried Zaha has recently came out and stated he felt “worthless” at Manchester United. Zaha made just four appearances in all competitions for United. He rejoined Palace on a season-long deal last summer before making the move permanent in January. And Zaha has now revealed the moment he knew his time was up. “There is nothing worse than not being involved. You are sitting there thinking ‘what exactly am I? A footballer who is not playing football?’ You feel a bit worthless sitting in the stands, watching all the time. You have nothing to speak about with the players. “If you have played the game then it’s ‘well done’ or ‘you should have passed here or there’. But when you haven’t played, I think people lose a bit of respect for you. I think they are thinking ‘well, he’s not played’. They don’t have anything to speak to you about. It’s a big thing. “And I’m frustrated when I am not playing. My family is frustrated. My friends are frustrated. “It was difficult when it came to a game at United and they were asking me for tickets and asking ‘are you playing?’ and that used to cut deep because I would think: ‘I can’t just invite my family’ because I had that doubt in my head as to whether I was even going to be in the squad. “They would come to United and I would be in the stands. Now I am just able to say ‘here’s tickets. I am starting the game’. I am happy again. “The last straw - when I thought ‘I need to go’ was when United played in the Capital One Cup against MK Dons. I went down there and didn’t play at all. There were reserves who came on and I thought 'I can’t just sit here and not be given a chance’. “I spoke to Van Gaal and he said that right now I wasn’t good enough to get into the first team and I put my hands up and thought ‘no problem, I will go on loan’. "I’d rather he told me. Before that it was just rumours and here was a straight answer. I appreciated that and so I came back to Palace.” [Source: Guardian] Good you are gone. We couldn't afford all that selection headache. |
Franck Ribery says his relationship with Louis van Gaal was 'poisoned' at Bayern Munich and claims the current Manchester United coach is a 'bad man' who loses players' trust. Van Gaal took charge of the Bavarians in 2009 but only lasted two years, with Ribery admitting he considered a move while the Dutchman was at the club. The French winger says that while Van Gaal, who claimed a league and cup double in his first season, can do great things on the pitch, he did not take to him off it. "We had problems on a human basis, when he started, nobody knew what was going to happen. His idea was that he did not care about names at all, you don't need stars, everybody had to prove themselves again. "The first contact with him was already poisoned. As a professional you lose your trust. He does great things on the pitch but the coach Van Gaal was a bad man. Our relationship was crushed." [Source: goal.com] lol |
Kicker magazine in Germany are back today with a fresh update in the Hummels saga. Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, has today confirmed to Kicker that he has received no bids for Hummels from anyone. Instead, Zorc talked up the possibility of Hummels staying at the club for a long time to come. Zorc told Kicker: "There is no bids, we plan to continue with him. We will carry on a dialogue with Mats in terms of our relationship." Mats Hummels is now weighing up his options: BVB have offered him a new contract with a pay rise. Now the choice is to extend or say goodbye. Kicker claim that Hummels decision could hinge on the German Cup quarter final game tonight against Hoffenheim. Success in the Cup and qualification for Europe could be a factor. [Source: Kicker.de] |
coogar:This means Cleverley will fit into Barca? |
Coogar don watch all the gif wey dey this whole world finish. |
coogar:Fabregas has 86 percent for Chelsea. Cleverley is a better passer according to Coogar. |
coogar:Herrera is the better passer because he gives more passes per minute that lead to an attempt at goal. Any body can have 100percent accuracy passing to defenders. |
coogar:is Messi in United today that Herrera is having more chances created even with our overall poor shots this season than 2012/13? messi is not the only one attempting goal in barca also same for rvp for united. united had a better shot per minute than barca, so why did cleverly didn't have a better cc per minute than Xavi? lastly Cleverly was our box tobox not any DM. Carrick was the dm |
elampiro:what u have above is chances created, not key pass. you can reconfirm the stat. It already taken care of your objections . this is about all passes that led to shots off target , on targets and goals. considering united took more shots per minute, cleverly was abysmal. |
coogar u are confusing urself . d key pass u have there is chances created. thats from whoscored data. Assists for goals are irrelavant to this. Also I have already taken Cleverly stat down to per mins and he fell behind Xavier and imiester, while united has a better per minute than barca |
That's my goodnight to you, Coogar. |
coogar:Why wont he make 90% when you said he played in same zone as Smalling, where passes are made to Van Der Sar or DDG? or passes to and from Fedinand and Vidic. If Heerera played with Scholes, he would make 94%.coogar:Iniester, Favregas, Ozil, Di Maria are amateurs, you mean? ![]() coogar:I pulled out 2012/13 season when probably he had his best season in a Man United title winning side, yet he fell short. If Herrera played in that team of Ferguson, with Scholes and a sharper Carrick beside him, he would have done far more. coogar:Messi had 163 shots RVP had 141 shots. Barca had 524 total shots Man United had 554 total shots. Remember, key passes are gotten from shots. Therefore, from the above figures, Clevereley ought to even had more key passes than Xavi and Iniester. Checkmate! |
coogar:Assist in Man United Herrera 4 Assist in 1239 minutes. Cleverley 3 Assists in 3561 minutes. Key pass Herrera is 72.9mins/key pass in Man United Cleverley 76.6 mins/key pass. using 2012/13 season Now tell me who is the better passer. Iniester and Xavi don't just go about making passes for passing sake. Check their Assists and key passes when they were still in their prime. Iniester with 16 Assists in one season. Iniester 47min/key pass, Xavi 50min.key pass. |
coogar:Herrera average for us is 89%. More so he makes more passes per match than Cleverley did for us. Herrera makes a pass every 1.2 mins while Cleverley made a pass every 1.4 min. |
