In acceptance of the Name "wailing wailers" which was being used by The presidential aid to President Buhari, Femi Adesina . some PDP supporters have gone a long way not just in acceptance of the name , but have followed it up with getting themselves a cute logo to accompany it.
Adesina made the comment after the opposition party rejected the appointment of Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Chairman (INEC), Amina Zakari.
"If PDP has begun to cry wolf where there was none on INEC chairman, then they should be set for louder lamentations. The wailing wailers,” Adesina tweeted on Tuesday, July 1,
2015.
Some have even gone as far as adding 5% wailing wailer in recognition of President Buhari's statement in DC during his US visit

The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as represented in the chaos in the National Assembly especially in the House of Representatives refused to abate on Friday, July 24, 2015, as the meeting called by the party leaders to find some respite to it did not yield any positive result.Rather, the division was allegedly widened as the Deputy Speaker, Lasun Yusuf, who was said to have been made the centre of discussion at the meeting refused  to agree to pleas made on him to respect the party by stepping down for a candidate of the party to take his seat.The party leaders had  summoned the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and his deputy, Yusuf Suleiman Lasun, as part of efforts at resolving the leadership crisis at the National Assembly over the logjam in selection of principal officers.The Osun State Governor was also at the meeting.The resumption of the lower parliament was extended by one week by the speaker till next Tuesday in an effort at finding a more amicable solution to the crisis threatening the party caucus in the House.Speaker Dogara and his team have consistently refused to accept the nomination of candidates submitted by the party leadership for the positions of Principal Officers, of which the group had consistently expressed disdain to the candidature of Femi Gbajabiamila as a principal officer.Gbajabiamila and Dogara had engaged in a fierce political battle for the office of the Speaker which was won at the end of the day by Dogara.Since then, every attempt by the party leaders to compensate Gbajabiamila whom they supported for the Speakership with another position in the principal officers cadre,  had been rejected by Dogara and his men.The rejection of Gbajabiamila is being premised on the fact that the Deputy Speaker, is from the South West and so, the zone should not produce another Principal Officer.Sources within the party said that Friday’s meeting was called by the party leaders to seek amicable resolution to the issue ahead of the resumption of the parliament in three days time.Dogara and Lasun were invited to meetings with the party leaders yesterday at different times, as the meeting with Dogara was concluded before Lasun was invited in with the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola to a closed-door meeting with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by its Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun.Governor Aregbesola it was gathered was given the task of talking to Lasun and make him see reasons why he should honour the party by stepping down from his position to enable the party put a candidate of its choice in the office of the Deputy Speaker.However, the meeting held was not fruitful as the Deputy Speaker was said to have blatantly refused to accept any plans to have him vacate office.

Train services from northern Nigerian State, Kano, to Pot Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, have started, twelve years after the Nigerian government launched a revitalisation project of the railway.The mixed service train will leave Kano to Port Harcourt every Thursday and from Port Harcourt to Kano every Tuesday.At the commissioning ceremony of the new trains in Kano on Thursday, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Cooperation (NRC), Adesiyi Asijuwade, said train services in Nigeria was back on track.The first Kano-Port Harcourt mixed train services was in 1914, technically carrying both passenger and goods from the north to southern part of Nigeria.However, in view of the ongoing efforts by the NRC, train services are now being resuscitated in phases across Nigeria.Two 68-seater air conditioned modern first class passenger couches had been put in place to traverse a rail distance of 1,139 kilometres, stretching from Kano to Port Harcourt, with stops at some cities across Kano, Kaduna and Benue among other states in the south.Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, represented by the Speaker State House of Assembly, Alhassan Doguwa, assured the corporation of the State government’s continued support and patronage.At the event, the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sunusi II, urged the management of the NRC to ensure continuity of the train services at an affordable price in order to allow free flow of economic exchange between the south and northern parts of Nigeria.“We are indeed happy that train services from Kano to Port Harcourt have returned and we pray that Allah will ensure the continuity of the program and may it be a source of our economic strength,” the Emir prayed.During the British colonial era, train services were regular and one of the best means of transportation in Nigeria, but lack of maintenance of the infrastructure led to a huge setback in that sector, forcing business owners to rely solely on the use of trucks for the movement of goods from one part of the nation to the other.The dearth in the sector further affected the movement of agricultural produce from farm settlements that were located in towns where the rail line traverse.The resuscitation of the train services will no doubt bring succour to farmers that may need to move produce from Kano to states along the rail line and in southern Nigeria.

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, in apparent defence of President Muhammadu Buhari over claims in certain quarters that under his watch, insurgency has escalated, said rather, the insurgents have been prevented from taking territories unlike what they did under the last administration.Chief Oyegun, who was a guest on ‘Osasu Show’, a private television programme in Abuja said it was unfortunate that the level of bombings in recent times have escalated but maintained that it was one of the desperate moves by the insurgents to create panic since they could no longer be confined to holding a part of the country to ransom as was the case when they were in control of several local governments under the erstwhile Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).“It is the most difficult thing to contain in the immediate term but the government is working very intensively to match this change of tactics by Boko Haram. Don’t forget they started by bombings, then when they saw that they could hold territories, they shifted to wanting to create their own country within a county. That has been the movement. But now that they have been contained and driven out of holding territories, they have now gone back to the original tactics that they started with; that is where the new confrontations is. We are relying intensively on intelligence and trying to debrief minds.” He said it is an amazement that young people would agree to blow up themselves in bombs.On the delay in the appointment of ministers, he said it was better to delay and be tagged, ‘Mr Go Slow’ than to progress in errors as was the case in the past. According to him, President Buhari has a reputation which he would not want to tarnished by anything, the reason for which he is taking his time to ensure that he picks the best hands available. He said Nigerians should watch out for changes three months after the composition of the cabinet. He said even though people expect much, it requires gradual planning of which the president has started judging from the international rating Nigeria has enjoyed since Buhari became president.He said those members of his party who fragrantly violated the party’s principle should expect what he called ‘political spanking’ because every political party has a set of rules that all members who used its platform to aspire into any position must subscribe to.“Political spanking, yes, there will be. Nothing is ruled out at the end of the day. Persons that were promoted, so to speak, by the party and turned against the party, if they persist something, of course, has to be done. There must be consequences otherwise no organisation can survive if everybody can do precisely what they like, there must be consequences,” he said.
