PoliticsBREAKING: House Of Reps Aspirant Raises Alarm Over Alleged Irregularities In NDC by elbukaze(op): 6:36pm On May 31
BREAKING: House of Reps Aspirant Raises Alarm Over Alleged Irregularities in NDC Awka North/South Primary

Awka, Anambra State.

House of Representatives aspirant for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Engineer Chukwuebuka Akubueze, has raised serious concerns over the conduct of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election, alleging that the process in Awka South was compromised while the exercise in Awka North reflected the genuine will of party members.

According to Akubueze, the primary election conducted in Awka North followed the Option A4 voting system and was attended by party members and observers. He stated that the exercise was peaceful, transparent, and that he emerged with overwhelming support from delegates and party faithful present at the venue.

Video evidence from the Awka North exercise, now circulating on social media, reportedly shows large numbers of supporters openly queuing behind Akubueze during the Option A4 process.

However, the aspirant alleged that despite the transparent exercise in Awka North, the official result sheet was removed from the venue by a party official and was not collated in the presence of stakeholders.

More controversially, Akubueze alleged that the situation in Awka South was entirely different.

According to him, the approved venue for the primary election was allegedly abandoned and the exercise moved to another location where access was restricted. He claimed that the venue was effectively under lock and key, with several party members denied entry.

Akubueze further alleged that his opponent, Professor Lilian Orogbu, was present inside the restricted venue while many party members believed to be supporting his candidacy were prevented from participating in the process.

The aspirant also alleged that when he arrived at the location after receiving information about the venue change, he was denied access.

"I personally went there after receiving intelligence about what was happening. I was prevented from entering the hall. I was told in clear terms that nothing on earth would make me enter to know what was going on inside. If this was truly an Option A4 election, why was it conducted behind closed doors?" he queried.

Akubueze called on the leadership of the NDC, election appeal committees, and relevant stakeholders to review all available evidence, including video recordings from Awka North, and ensure that the final outcome reflects the actual votes cast by party members.

He maintained that democracy cannot thrive where transparency is absent and urged party supporters to remain peaceful while awaiting official review of the process.

"The people spoke openly in Awka North. The evidence is there for the world to see. We are watching closely and we believe that truth, transparency, and justice must prevail."

The allegations have sparked intense debate among party members across Awka North and South Federal Constituency, with many calling for a transparent investigation into the conduct of the primary election.

As of the time of filing this report, the NDC leadership and Professor Lilian Orogbu had not publicly responded to the allegations.

No, you are wrong, if your Salary is 150,000, you will be going home with 1.6 Million.

saintopus:
There is something I really don't understand from this new system. So are they doing away completely with the Contributory Pension Scheme?
So since it's gratuity, it's like " dash". So if mu salary is N150,000.00 I will be going home with N3.6 million as gratuity.
That is not much money after working for 35 years.
If this amount is to added to the PF then no wahala.

Edo No Be Your House, Talented Edo Artist Release Track On Peter Obi Ban

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNOVY4ClD9Y?si=sMNCR4ObZKtXOZSa

The Nigerian music scene just got politically charged with the release of a powerful new track titled “Edo No Be Your Own”, a fearless response to the controversial statement by the Edo State Governor attempting to ban Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, from entering the state without his permission.

The single, which is already gaining traction across social media, is a direct musical protest crafted by passionate voices who believe in the freedom of political participation and democratic values. Delivered with raw energy, lyrical fire, and unapologetic commentary, “Edo No Be Your Own” captures the growing frustration among Nigerian youths over rising political arrogance, intimidation, and suppression of opposition voices.

Featuring hard-hitting bars and emotionally charged delivery, the song not only challenges the governor’s undemocratic declaration but also speaks on broader issues such as youth disenfranchisement, selective governance, and double standards in handling insecurity across the country.

With a mix of Afrobeat, street rap, and conscious hip-hop influences, the track is not just a song — it’s a statement. It echoes the sentiments of millions who believe Nigeria belongs to all its citizens, and no state should become a political warzone controlled by personal ego.

Whether you're for or against the ban, “Edo No Be Your Own” is a must-listen. It represents a generation that refuses to stay silent.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Condemns Deadly Terrorist Attack In Kashmir, Calls For Global Support by elbukaze(m): 4:10am On Apr 30, 2025
It’s deeply ironic that the Federal Government of Nigeria rushed to condemn the terrorist attack in India, yet remains largely silent when Nigerians are being slaughtered almost weekly. Where was this same energy when:

- **April 28, 2025** – A roadside bomb in Borno State killed at least 26 people, including women and children. ISWAP claimed responsibility.

- **April 24, 2025** – Armed men massacred at least 20 people in Zamfara State, attacking a gold-mining site and a mosque.

- **April 18, 2025** – In Benue State, at least 56 people were killed in a brutal attack linked to the ongoing farmer-herder crisis.

- **April 13, 2025** – Suspected herders killed over 40 people in Zike village, Plateau State.

- **September 3, 2024** – Over 130 villagers were massacred in Tarmuwa, Yobe State by Islamic State militants.

Yet no official statements, no visits, no national mourning. But one attack abroad, and our government is quick to "stand in solidarity" and issue elaborate condolences. This double standard is not just shameful—it’s an insult to the lives of ordinary Nigerians. Charity begins at home. Nigerian lives should matter just as much.

PoliticsRe: Anambra Governorship Debate 2021 (Full Video) by elbukaze(m): 7:11am On Nov 02, 2021
Nno my brother, you just spoke my mind on their recognition of Peter Obi legacy.

In the debate Soludo was more than Good.

Val is a young sound vibrant young man, he will make a good Governor as well.

Andy Uba, will be a disaster to Ndi Anambra. He's likely to win because of rigging. But he will be worst than Buhari.
EagleNest:
It's always good to subject candidates to public debate, with it we can gain better understanding of each candidate.

The APC candidate, senator Uba has no business being on that platform. He has nothing to offer Anambra as he lacks capacity to produce brilliant thoughts or sparks to give Anambrarians hope. I'm wondering how he won the candidature of APC, not to talk of how he become a senator. I thought legislators debate alot? How does he do his own. And when you look back on past Presidential elections, why do they skip proper debate?

The PDP candidate, Mr Ozigbo is quite a big surprise. He's sound, conducted himself very well, spoke eloquently and delivered strongly his thoughts. If not that Soludo is a favourite to win, this Mr Ozigbo would have been a good alternative considering his delivery. Dr Maduka is missing here, why is he not on the platform? Small party I guess!

The APGA candidate, Prof Soludo took all the attention. I guess he planned it that way, or may be because he's a notable name, or perhaps that's his character. Obviously he's sound, knows his onion, delivered very well however his conduct at the debate was a bit distruptive. He seems to have prepared to use the stage to open up Sen Uba to Anambrarians, as being not fit for purpose. Which indeed he succeeded. His strong allegation on Mr Uba being the brain behind security challenges in recent time in Anambra is a food for thought, as Uba brothers have done it before during Ngige era. One person he underestimated was Mr Ozigbo, who debated very well, in fact toe-to-toe with him on many instances.
Soludo should not show any sign of complacency but learn from this debate on what more he needs to improve on. He's the favourite!

Finally, it seems it's a common "known" among the three candidates that Peter Obi left a big positive mark on governance in Anambra state, that even the succeeding governor couldn't match. You see why I keep on advocating for him to lead Nigeria. He will definitely turn Nigeria around for good. He has that ability that is unique. How I wish Nigerians will see beyond tribe and party, and hire this man to fix Nigeria.
