Yea, you should go to bed. . .maybe when you wake up, you'd be able to digest all the info I put out.
It seems too much for your head to contain right now.

Your sociologist claim is a mentality just like my "unattractive" opinion. . .and I'm supposed to accept yours because . .? Umm, NEGATIVE!
Don't get me wrong . . . I don't want you to accept it, I want you to attempt to prove me wrong.
Criticise it, use your 'research' to bring a more logical answer, tear it apart like I've done to all your B.S theories.
Then I'll actually take you serious. . . till then, go use a fake ID to get into a club with Ib.

chiogo:
lol anywayz, you talk like I don't have Nigerian experience too. Psh. Puhlease!! I've probably spent more time there than you have.

Garri and bread is unhealthy if you eat it everyday. I bet my skinny a/s/s that VERY poor naija people barely have enough money to consume even that on a daily basis.

Still boils down to poverty in MY opinion. You don't eat as often as you should and when you do eat, it lacks nutrition, it's an unbalanced diet. You're unhealthy. Easy peasy.
Stay ignorant.  cheesy
Your method of backing down is like Ini Edo's body. . . hilarious!!!! tongue tongue

Five minutes ago you said 'how are you so sure that the life expectancy for Nigerians is due to the eating habits? How about poverty?' . . . and now it's yeah 'but it's still eating habits too, they eat unhealthy food' . . . what's an unbalanced diet'.

Ms Chiogo, eating patterns/patterns are the choices of food, so eating an unbalanced diet is also under the umbrella of eating habits. . . the way you clutch these straws are just hilarious.
You think you're arguing with Ofoka or sumn??

Now let me clarify this stuff and wait till you guys combine to spew fuckery again (you never disappoint).
I've spent more years in Nigeria than the number of birthdays in your entire life . . . I lived in four cities/towns . . . visited many others.
And yeah, I've seen poor people and yeah, these people eat this very unhealthy food (bricklayers eat bread and coke for lunch) that's as distant from a balanced diet as the word goes.
Not enough research is conducted in Nigeria to give us accurate figures, but the many deaths and diseases in Nigeria show signs that they could have been avoided by healthy nutrition.
Even First Lady charity programmes highlight this . . . now STFU till you can get your 'skinny ass' to Nigeria to understand this.

Thank you, thank you, you're far too kind.  tongue

But umm, I'm indifferent to that part of the research since it wasn't relevant to my paper. But when you came with that sociologist claim, I had to go back and look. I stand by my "unattractive" theory.
Now you're just being unreasonably thick-headed.
I'll stick to the B.S just because I hate the closest thing to the truth. . .

chiogo:
Umm, how are you so sure that the life expectancy for Nigerians is due to the eating habits? How about poverty? Over 70% barely have anything to eat much more finding these fatty foods. It's different for Americans. Poor Americans have more access to junk food. Poor Nigerians have access to NOTHING. Big difference.
How sure am I?? Go look at diabetes and high blood pressure rates in Nigeria.
Besides 70% of Nigerians have food to eat, the problem is that it's cheap unhealthy food like garri and bread.
Poverty in Nigeria is usually more to do with other important amenities like housing, transport and things like that, Nigeria is not Ethiopia.

Yeah, some people don't have anything to eat . . . but the majority eat relatively cheap unhealthy food.
Poverty does not kill you, you die as a result of eating cheap unhealthy food . . .

My proof?? I've seen it. Infact go to Youtube and search for 'Welcome to Lagos' and see how much unhealthy food is being consumed by the people said to be literally at the bottom of the pile.

Remember this part is more of experience than 'white man research'.

I'm going to bed . . . I don't want to go off-topic.

Fat people are unhealthy and should not play roles that are meant for skinny people. grin grin

My opinion isn't BS if you couldn't answer the questions that surround it:
Do you find obese people attractive?
How many obese people do you know?
How many of them suffer from diseases that can be attributed to their obesity?
I know loads of people that have suffered from the minor ones like bad odour, skin diseases, diabetes to serious ones like heart complications and asthmatic attacks.
You don't get it?? The country I'm from has a life expectancy of 47, our eating habits play a big role in that.

chiogo:
Learn how to read. I brought up the research thing because you made your first post to me telling me that my OPINION is wrong and that obesity is exaggerated because people think obese people generally don't care for themselves. II only gave you what I found through research, just like you.

If I agreed with my research, I would have brought it up earlier rather than stating my opinion.

You can call it BS all you want even though it came from a credible source. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it, just like I don't have to agree with your sociologist theory.
Oh so you don't actually agree with your research?? You were just throwing it in to win an argument??
Wow!!! You really should have done Law.

Oh yea eldee, and you shot yourself in the leg about smokers not being stopped from being models. If that doesn't tell you anything about MY "unattractive" opinion, I can't help you with that.

PS: I also wanted to go into Law, so I totally understand the whole stubbornness and argumentative thing. But sometimes, it's really wise to let it be.  wink
I told you . . . I just used that to prove that yours is not a professional opinion and it is still B.S.
Celebrities › Re: Nigerian Divas And The 'orobo' Syndrome. by eldee(m): 1:43am On Apr 20, 2010
To your first point . . . I said your opinion is B.S. . . and I proved it.

That's what I'm saying . . . because you put 'research' in bold fonts don't mean it makes sense. . . IT IS B.S.

If your 'research's perspective were logical and representative, it would apply to smoking too.
That's common sense.

If we don't like obese people because they cost us so much, we wouldn't like smokers who cost us even more. Till then, his reasoning remains invalid.
Go and tell your lecturer that he needs to go back to high school.

A graduate that needs to get money off the government thinks of a smart way and says he's 'conducting research' . . . at the end, no correlations, no parallel comparisions, he releases it as a thesis and people like Chiogo go about quoting it.
Celebrities › Re: Nigerian Divas And The 'orobo' Syndrome. by eldee(m): 1:21am On Apr 20, 2010
chiogo:
LOL Eldee, I don't wanna argue with you even though I can.

I didn't give you the result of obesity, I gave you the mentality that most non-obese people have of the impact of obesity on them hence why obesity is exaggerated. Read slowly and digest that info.  grin
Now listen to me clearly . . . that mentality is as a result of something and it's not your B.S claim about the health system.
It's not the B.S claim about not being attractive.
C'est fini.

chiogo:
Now it's your turn to listen to yourself but who accepts smokers? Yes, their existence is recognized like everything else but anti-smoking adverts also exist.

In schools esp. health classes, it's a huge discussion - the repercussions and everything else. So, how's it accepted?

You make a false assumption about stretch marks - they equally occur in normal-weight and under-weight people. It's not a "fat people" thing.
Who accepts smokers?? How many people are stopped from becoming models because they smoke?? Now compare that to the amount of times you see obese people on TV and compare our reactions to both of them.
I said it clearly, using your own logic, smokers should be considered more socially repulsive than obese people because they cost more to society.

Sociologists? I'll like to hear from actual science experts.

Like I said, I did a research on this obesity issue. The unattractive thing is my opinion though but it doesn't take rocket science to figure it out. Ayettymama said this previously. I made that comment based on these questions:
Do you think obese people are attractive? Exactly how many obese people do you know whose deaths were as a result of their obesity? I personally don't know that many to conclude it's unhealthy. But just seeing obese people as unattractive is enough to make one believe their lifestyle must also be unhealthy. It's very simple.

But anyway, the real claim made by studies for why obesity is exaggerated is that people believe that not only are obese people hurting themselves, they're costing people their hard-earned money - $70 billion worth of health care for fat people, etc. Your sociologist claim is the complete contrast.
Stop being a Chiogo, who else knows about the mentality of the members of society than sociologists??
Sociologists are the people marketers employ to conduct research before adverts. . . it's extremely daft to expect Einstein to come and tell you about society.

Listen to yourself speak, I should take your Wikipedia research over the Stan Cohens and other experts??

People don't die because they're fat, they die because of problems from eating unhealthy. Same way people don't die having sex, they die from HIV.
What do you need to get a scholarship in America these days??

I gave you the main reason we don't find obese people attractive and you're giving me the result of the obesity . . . Obese people are unattractive to people because they send across the message that they don't take care of themselves.
They sweat more, they come with stretch marks, their skin is folded in many parts . . . these make you accept that they don't work on their appearance.

Your claim about the Health system is B.S, why do we accept smokers then, they cost more to the health system than obese people??
This is why I warned you to abstain from Wiki and Google research.

eldee wat are u saying??

kila gbe kile ju??-

is the gym the only way people retain active lifestyles??

how many nigerians can afford to retire??

i neva even claimed poor people eat healthy, whatever you will regard as 'healthy' now will be what the white man told u is

standards of health are different in developed countries because of the way we have adapted, we drive around instead of walking, take the lifts instead of the stairs, most of us sit behing computers from 9-5 then from 5-12 in front of a tv, we are a generation of couch potatoes thats not the same for the developing world, they cannot afford to live sedentry lifestyles and so can afford to eat more-

i dunno wat u mean with your jamie oliver quote but if u say so  undecided
1. I'm saying your whole thing about Nigerians having a natural way to get healthy doesn't make sense. . . the proof is in the pudding. But you've not tasted the pudding because the ones you see on TV are not representative of the average Nigerian.

2. Is gyming the only way?? No, but are the other ways working for Nigerians?? NO!!!

3. Healthy is healthy anywhere, we know who's obese and who's healthy, let's stop chasing cars with this whole 'define healthy' BS, it's elementary.

4. Well now, in Africa, the foods consumed are exactly as Omar22 listed . . .

Breakfast is Rice, 2 boiled eggs and three pieces of meat with ata elepo (oil based stew)

Lunch is amala with oily soup three pieces of meat and a bottle of coke (Two Mr Biggs meat pies and a chicken thigh for office guys)

Dinner is eba and ogbolo(a palm oil based soup) with three pieces of meat. . .

Remember Sundays are a different story, and then parties are sumn else.
Snacks are puff-puff(deep fried flour), akara (deep fried too), meat pies, Coke, Gala (Sausage rolls), Very unhealthy yoghurt (you can actually taste the fat).

Even by World Health Organisation standards these are as unhealthy as the word goes, and remember they put into context even warring countries too.

Now that diet I put up there with not be overcome by the 30 minte walk through Oshodi Market . . . no.
It won't be cleared by the sitting in traffic for 2 hours, it accumulates and makes these people FAT!!! Any standards applicable.

So when Omar22 comes here and tells you you're spewing B.S shut up and listen to the voice of reason. He's been there.

You can't talk about Nigeria, you haven't lived there.
The gym culture isn't just there yet. . . when you retire in Nigeria, you go to your hometown, build a massive house and sit your ass down, it's a norm.

And yeah, even the poorest people eat loads of unhealthy food.
Go watch clips of Welcome to Lagos and see guys that work in dumps eating food that's not just human.

Jamie Oliver, the UK's second most famous chef. . . went to the slums in South Africa and he came back and said we in Britain are the ones actually starving.
That's a proffessional opinion. . . just had to point that out.
David already did a good job at tearing apart your whole argument.

chiogo:
I totally agree with this. Obesity is exaggerated by the society not because it's unhealthy but generally because they deem it unattractive.
Nah . . . it's not because of that, sociologists claim that the main reason is that it's more expensive to keep fit so it becomes more valued.
Just the same way people with spotless skins are preferred because it's an evidence that you spent time and money perfecting your looks.

Don't make it sound like it's one superficial delusion that started from nowhere.

Night Rain - J.P Clark

What time of night it is

I do not know

Except that like some fish

Doped out of the deep

I have bobbed up bellywise

From stream of sleep

And no cocks crow.

It is drumming hard here

And I suppose everywhere

Droning with insistent ardour upon

Our roof thatch and shed

And thro' sheaves slit open

To lightning and rafters

I cannot quite make out overhead

Great water drops are dribbling

Falling like orange or mango

Fruits showered forth in the wind

Or perhaps I should say so

Much like beads I could in prayer tell

Them on string as they break

In wooden bowls and earthenware

Mother is busy now deploying

About our roomlet and floor.

Although it is so dark

I know her practiced step as

She moves her bins, bags and vats

Out of the run of water

That like ants gain possession

Of the floor. Do not tremble then

But turns, brothers, turn upon your side

Of the loosening mats

To where the others lie.

We have drunk tonight of a spell

Deeper than the owl's or hat's

That wet of wings may not fly

Bedraggled up on the iroko, they stand

Emptied of hearts, and

Therefore will not stir, no, not

Even at dawn for then

They must scurry in to hide.

So let us roll over on our back

And again roll to the beat

Of drumming all over the land

And under its ample soothing hand

Joined to that of the sea

We will settle to sleep of the innocent and free.

It's more interesting to see his explanation for why Abiku actually likes to die . . .'Once and the repeated time, ageless'. Soyinka's Abiku is egoistic and even tells them about his superhuman abilities. I kinda prefer the super-hero Abiku not J.P Clark's suffering one.

To be honest eldee, I don't think Arsene was forced into it. I think he believes in such a system as well. Yes he had to carry a lot of pressure at some times like last season (when frankly speaking we were poor, we regressed , when we should have gone on from the 07/08 season).

But I do believe we've learnt from losing guys like Flamini and Hleb which is why we had the slew of long term contracts in December (though it started with tying Cesc down to that ridiculously long contract till 2014 about 2 seasons ago) I'm sure if we didn't do that we could have lost Cesc this summer with the noise Barca is making. They know fully well now that they might need to pay in the range Madrid payed for CR9 and that is why they are trying to unsettle the lad in such a shameful manner.

Fingers crossed, we won't have a repeat of the 08/09 summer and we'll keep the core of our team and improve it, also this team still has the capacity to increase even from within.
Now you go back to my point about how we're working against the mind-set of our so called products.
The best ones leave . . . the Eboues and Walcotts stay.
It's almost impossible to pursue this dream in today's football. . . look at Ajax now, since money became the biggest thing, they've become a selling club.
You think they won't have been UCL threats if they had the power to keep Ibrahimovich, Huntelaar, Maxwell, Van Der Sar, Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, John Heitinga, Piennar, Nigel de Jong and the other stars they created??

Wenger is risking his reputation as a manager and I'm not even sorry for him . . . he's just daft.

Ask any fan, we don't mind owing millions as long as we get a regular supply of trophies . . . especially now that UEFA's not taken any action against it. Barcelona are sacred cows now only because they're winning, their finances are scary too.
