Ekiti State has more than its own fair share of troublemakers. I think it's sumn in the water . . . it's been passed down ![]() |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ You're from Ekiti too?? I detect a trend . . . You guys are leading on the graph of Ratio of Wahala/Indegene graph ![]() How can one state have yourself, Sauron and FL Gators?? Infact I'm beginning to think you guys originally migrated from Rwanda ![]() |
Just saw this really old thread in my Updated Topics, read the pages and started laughing hard. Hehehe . . . good times.
@ Eldee, Cadet (FL Gators) is not cool at all . . . .She is an instigator. . . . always looking out to start a fight/mini-beefs. She is not repping the state at all. . . . . .I could have wagered she is from Sierra Leone or Rwanda(war zones). Why are u so sure she is from Ekiti. . . . She cld be Hutu/Tutsi for all u know. Many refugees made it to Ekiti via Owena river.
|
@ElRazur I see where you're coming from . . . his death should be put in the best possible way. That's the best way to promote his legacy. I wish his team and the media would just stop putting spins on this story and set p a foundation to educate people on the dangers of drunk driving. That's probably what he would have rapped about had he survived this. It's becoming more rampant with people, a lot of celebs have had accidents because of it but it gets hushed because it's not fatal. Everyone has someone to blame, but let's put it to good use at least. I heard that there is a possibility that the doctors were on strike. |
ElRazur:Yeah man . . . he's a Facebook hit, people want him to perform at the O2 . . . in showbiz, first thing you need. He's even on Number 3 on the UK I-tunes Reggae charts. Without any record label putting him there . . . we were his managers, agents, distribtors, everything ![]()
|
FL Gators:This is the latest chart. At any given time Bob Marley always has like three albums/collections on every Reggae chart. Idon't know how his people do it, but he's one of those evergreen legends. |
Dagrin is just extremely down to earth . . . he said everything that came to his mind. He didn't even need to shape his experiences to feel among. Originality wrote his songs for him. |
platinumnk:That's the thing . . . most times when people enjoy the delivery, the next thing is . . . 'what did he say there??' I had a friend that learnt English from hiphop, she's Somalian . . . even K'naan did that too. When 9ice came out, I literally had about 10s of people asking me to translate parts of the song for them. . . same with Wande Coal. doyin13:You go don they sing-along already before you remember say . . .'omo, dis guy fit dey yab my Papa ooh . . . make I ask Emeka for the translation' ![]() |
platinumnk:Good music is a universal language. Kanye and Eminem are stars in Germany and Denmark. MJ had Asians learning to say 'beat it' before learning 'hi' I used to feel 2shot and Big Lo . . . even their Igbo lines. I can give you all the Igbo lines in Delicious, yet I don't even knew how to count 1-10 in the language. Dagrin's music was for everyone . . . especially that funny autotuned laughter at the beginning of the songs. ![]() |
Vocal Slender in Top Three of UK I-tunes Raggae Charts!!!!
|
@Dudu Get off this Schenzy thing . . . we've performed enough experiments already with this team. We've played without a striker against Big-Four teams, we've played Barca with two over 35 defenders, we've given Denilson a full season of week-in week=out action, but to say we should risk our goalkeeping position by putting in a 2-year old that's not even played against average strikers?? Come on!!! How can you entrust a UCL team into the hands of a Championship keeper?? Your reason?? They risked it at Madrid and it paid off?? Just listen to yourself speak. I find all your comments since the Tottenham game extremely disrespectful to Arsenal fans, but that's a matter for another day. Let him do it the good old fashioned way, win the League Cup and we'll start talking. |
canuck:Someone said he wasn't popular in Benin . . . I just saw 70% of Benin guys I know quoting his lines like it was Ishan. |
Money no dey drive me, money na my conductor. . . - If I Die How Nigerian can someone be?? |
dayokanu:You're sumn else ![]() |
@FL Check out this thread from way back in 2008 . . . this was what people thought of him when he was alive. It's not like everyone's jumping on the bandwagon now. I hope he gets more legendary in his death. ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-210465.0.html |
*Death* Are you talking of the modern football match or the good old days where there were players like Ikedia, Yobo, Okocha and Taribo West?
Infact, plus Babangida . . . all of them looked shite next to the Laudrup bros and Sand. They were old and they refused to retire, the formed a mafia in the team and completely refused to let young players come in. dominique:That one na excuse?? If we were preparing for Brazil, then we should have been even more equipped to trash Denmark. Abi Sand pass Ronaldo?? |
but eldee, u too dey cry may his soul rest in peace
It's just the fact that I actually saw how his career started and how it ended. It's really painful. FL Gators:It's not about how big he was, though he was going to be the Yoruba M.I. He already had the YES effect on people, so everyone wanted a collabo with him. The thing about him is how cool he was as a person, he was one og those actually nice people. And he was too busy talking about how he wants to be great to even care about being cocky. I just liked the fact that he was in touch with everyone. . . especially with his age, he's got that Drake personality. And you know how I feel about Africans that try to sound African . . . it was like losing a K'naan. |
Olorun sogo, let's go Anything ti moba gbowo le It's a goal Mo le gba Calabar de Canada Mo le gba Alaba de Alabama An te lo siwaju bi Stadium Teslim |
If you're a 100% Yoruba-speaking rapper, let the Lord look down and say, there he goes. . . the best at what he does I'm sure you can say that about Dagrin. . . Who else rhymes 'ku sinu ebi' with 'who we be'?? 1000% Nigerian, 1000% Dagrin, 1000% of the time. |
Won ni pe life ti moun live pe mi o ni peku Tolorun o ba pami . . . eeeeh, kilo tu ku?? Dagrin |
Ghetto Dreams - Da Grin I think this was his best. |
Krayola:We're not even related to him and it hurts this much . . . think of what his family will be facing. |
lalaboi:I really do wonder how his family is coping maynne. ![]() chic2pimp:Listening to Turn Me Around, I can't even bear to look at the video. ![]() |
Why is it touching me like this?? I kinda felt a connection to him through music. R.I.P |
Krayola:I saw Dagrin in those your hooks. . . it's hard to believe he was in the spotlight for only a short time with all the impact he had. |
I saw his interview with Yemoja, he was one charming guy. Even in his songs, every Nigerian could relate to what he said. We were Dagrin . . . he was our everyday next door neighbour. He did so much with so little time. His impact was unmistakeable. . . R.I.P |
Banky just confirmed that he's been to the hospital. Everyone's confirmed it now. This guy was what Nigerian music was going to be, he was the future. I was looking forward to seeing the day when Nigeria would have it's own version of rap . . . Da Grin did that already. The world will miss you. . . RIP
|
I'll hold on to the fact that he made an impact on Nigeria and music in general. He was the person you saw yourself talking to for ages without getting any dull moment. Listening to his music made you feel like you knew him, he was gifted. His rebelliously Nigerian way of delivering rap music is something we'll remember him for. R.I.P C.E.O. |
^^I doubt it, I mean Nigerian Players back then are very determined and overcome all odds to make sure they are victorious unlike these days in which they play only for the money and the fun of it.
Hehehe . . . you mean the same team that got trashed 4-1 by Denmark?? ![]() |
Nigerian traffic rules are easy to follow . . . if you hear 'hollit (hold it)', you are constitutionally obliged to put your arm out of your car with a heavily folded 9ice disobeyed this traffic rule and he was punished. ![]() |
THE AMAKA:Hehehe . . . comparing our tastes in music is like comparing Obama(me) to Yar'adua (you) ![]() |
