Jobs/VacanciesRe: Resume Tips and More. . . . by eldee(m): 3:44pm On Aug 03, 2012
Jarus: 1, After repackaging my CV to suit the requirements, I covered it with a letter I titled '5 reasons why I fit the bill'. Because I knew from the advert that a top MN consulting firm will be doing the recruitment, I emphasized the training I had with that firm 2 years ago on that covering, in addition to 4 other points, all short, concise and well bulleted.
Could you please email me the letter you sent, it's okay if you don't want to, but it will be really helpful if you do.

How is everyone doing? I actually do miss this place.

Anyway does anyone have any further information on the players we are supposedly following? Twitter gist says we're still hot on Santi Carzola?? and M'Villa, despite Wenger's firm assertions. Apparently, we do need to sell a few players to get that sorted. Park is going, Bendtner's refusing a wage cut and Vela looks like it's almost done too.

If we do get two of them, then RVP really doesn't have an excuse to leave. He will have to lose his holier-than-thou stance and go to Man United as a greedy player would.

And who saw Ramsey's surprisingly good match against the U.A.E? Seems like he really needs more bench time to give us a good game every now and then. With Wilshere's injury not looking any better than it was a year ago, he really needs to step up his game.

CareerRe: Which Are The Top 10 Law Firms In Nigeria? by eldee(m): 8:46pm On May 18, 2012
I recently read something about International law firms going into Nigeria. I'm talking Magic Circle, that's the DLA Pipers and the Slaughter & Mays.
They killed South Africa a decade ago, so this list will probably not be the same in about half a decade.

Lord Babs:
As a profound lawyer in progress, i've got the locus standi to tell you all that
You do not have locus standi, you have no legal interest in this case, neither do you have any right to this case before the court.
And WTF is a 'profound lawyer in progress'?? Is progress a new area of law? Or how can you be a profound law student? Sit the eff down bro.

Lord Babs:
as regards the subject matter(i.e.the act in question), we should all be temperate and see how the case unfolds.
We should be calm and not quick to judgement? Well, I'll also like to inform you of the important fact that the Pope is catholic.

Lord Babs:
Although, it has been majorly condemned(even by a layman like Seun who presumes he knows the law by mere quoting an excerpt of the Criminal Code), the fact remains that you cannot know what the law says about an act except in the court, where its obvious interpretation resides.
B.S . . . the law on violation is clear, it leaves no space for ambiguity.
Criminal law, unlike most areas of law are made clear enough for the 'layman' to understand in other to plan his affairs not to contradict it.

Lord Babs:
Hence, it is abjectly inflagrantedelicto to presume the purported rapists as criminals or guilty of violation, when they've not been proven guilty by a lawful court of jurisdiction.
Again, I call B.S. We have no power to convict them, all we have said is that . . . using the basic reasonable man test, that case is obvious violation.
In the eyes of the reasonable man, they are rapists. . .end of.

Lord Babs:
And, even if you've watched the video umpteens, bottomline says "Reps ipso loquitor"(the fact speaks for itself). Albeit for the suspects, and ipso facto(by the fact itself), it should be affirmed that Ignorantia iuris non excusàt(ignorance of the law is no excuse).
No one has brought up ignorance of the law . . . I'm afraid this point is irrelevant.

Lord Babs:
Finally, in my own prerogative of comment, and as a moralist(by birth and conformity), i can't be unmindful of the moral aspect of this social imbroglio, which i think it's the taping of the whole sleazy show; it is an abuse of 'common sense'! Thanks.
So basically, you agree with people that reckon they're rapists? Or you think they're sleazy?

Anyway whatever, it's these kind of things that make me side the LPC over Nigerian Law School . . . clouding issues in the name of analysing the situation.
CrimeRe: ABSU Case: Was It A violation Or Not? by eldee(m): 6:42am On Sep 27, 2011
I saw the video and thought . . . 'damn this is sickening.' You see that and think, how can people be this evil and proud of it.
But you know what's more sickening? The reaction to it. the fact that sumone comes on the net, especially Twitter to ask questions like 'Why didn't she scream', 'Was she even tortured'?

I mean . . . this is a violation where there's a video to prove it, shouldn't this be the one time everyone stands together against the act?
What can show a lack of consent more vividly than a girl literally begging her captors to kill her? She's been violated for hours people.

It's irritating, to think more women are being violated everyday and all they've got is word of mouth.

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Wayne Rooney could miss "a few weeks" of Manchester United's season.

Wayne Rooney missed the trip to Stoke with a hamstring injury
• Stoke end United streak

United served up a surprise at Stoke on Saturday, as they arrived at the Britannia Stadium without their star man. Ferguson told ESPN after the 1-1 draw that the club had endured a "nightmare" training session on Friday. And it appears Rooney was one of the casualties with a hamstring injury.

"Rooney's is a serious injury, it was enough to keep him out today, and I think maybe for a few weeks," Ferguson said.

Vicarious liabilty. . . the responsibility will be shifted to her employers . . .the school.

However on grounds of social policy, I think she'll get only compensatory damages for hospital costs. . . letting her get away with this could lead to a floodgate of cases of the this nature.
The fact that it's also a school and not a totally commercial enterprise could even mean she'll go with far less.

The courts will not be willing to make a decision that can change the whole system of corporal punishment and possibly the Nigerian educational system.

Hasn't Immortal Technique got videos on Youtube that promote his message without images of heads blasted off?

As for the music, KRS-One got really wack at rapping anyway. If that song is anything to go by.

theres nothing wrong with it but do we need it? Historically the excuse was that to be reborn one must be given a new name? a name the white christian missionaries can pronounce. Does Jesus have a christian name? Since we are now generally more educated and enlightened on these things do we really need to still name out children christian names?
The question is what you answered in the first line.
If we don't need it, then it all should be left to choice and no need for a topic on this either.
CultureRe: Do We Actually Need English Names by eldee(m): 7:13pm On Sep 06, 2011
No one is saying you need an English name. . . the question is, is it wrong to have one.
I've pointed out that there is nothing wrong with having a Christian name, same way there is nothing wrong with wearing jeans or going to a school that's taught in English.
