Can't comfortably pay the school fees of the 2 children you have yet adding more children So that you can have 3 or 4 children that you can't pay school fees for?

In my opinion, here we don't value children, human life and the basic wellbeing of the children we give birth to. Hence you see people even in their state of abject poverty adding more children or those that are doing a little better adding more children just to fulfill their desire of having X number of children even when the ones they already have is difficult to maintain.

Another reason is that people don't think or reason for themselves. They just follow the societal norms like zombies and do what everyone is doing.

These things always makes me wonder.

Haha...find more excuses. The screenshot you included even described your yeye resistance to colonialism as a "short war". In case you don't know, pre-colonial Igbo was also not united but kept the British off most of Igbo clans for 29 years. They overran you in few days for just one Ijebu clan that even had a little ball to fight. The Ekumeku war was fought from 1883 to 1914 by just one Igbo clan, Anioma. Even the British needed divide and rule Nigeria is using today to defeat the Anioma people. So stop making a comparison where none exists.

For example, it took me reading about the Nigeria army of the colonial and pre-civil war era to know that Igbos make FINEST soldiers.
But if you were reading Nigeria history post-civil war, you would think that Igbo are not capable of soldiering.

Many who read your comments (believe it or not) are not wise enough to know this. They might hold the impression that they are naturally 'duller' than a Southerner. And that's wrong.

As for the reason why they aren't USUALLY in the top lists, it's due to priority, motivation & interests.

They tilt mostly to religion/ culture in motivation/ interests. And they are skeptical about western education as we know it. Because it is heavily influenced by Western religion.
