I'm not even surprise, same thing they practiced during GEJ Regime that made Yoruba to neglect GEJ when he was contesting for second term. I am 100% sure if Obi become president he will govern in a way that will never allow any Igbo man to become the president of this country again.

You are really delusional
Average Yoruba man prefer Igbo women? Majority Yoruba men still married Yoruba women. Few that married Igbo women doesn't mean it is the norm in fact most Yoruba families won't allow their sons to marry Igbo easily, keep being delusional.

Hahaha, there's nothing in the South east yet is far far more developed and urbanised than your overrated Southwest.

Yes I saw the good yoruba that won elections in USA, they don't think and act like you that's why they're better and not tribalistic like you do...ofcourse igbos too won election. Did you not see an igbo woman azubuike that was promoted to a general in USA??

The fact is that without lagos, Southwest is just a big for nothing land for ritualists and skull miners and organ harvesters.
Without Lagos? As if Lagos is not a Yoruba land and being rule by Yoruba.

The whole East can't match Oyo and Ogun in development, which part of your barren region is even as industrialized as Ogun state not to even talk of Lagos?

The East is more developed but you guys can't stop trooping out of the barren region everyday to all states in the west.

One Azuibike became general you guys were chestbeating like clowns, Yoruba are top minister in US and UK and without any noise, the Yoruba woman in UK even almost become their Prime minister "Yoruba can't compete with Igbo", what an Insult, we compete in saner clime not with barbarians and savages in a barren region.

Yoruba are top millionaire in UK and even bought airports, in USA a Yoruba the Founder of calendly was reported by Forbes to be a billionaire and among the richest African in USA, but to you Yoruba can't compete with some barbarians from a barren region.

Your people are lazy and barely travel outside your overrated region, they rather migrate to lagos to do owo mida...very disgraceful.

They know they can't compete with igbos that's why those here are littered everywhere selling agbo jedi jedi
Can't compete with Igbo, you are truly delusional. What is there to do in your Barren region? What is in South East that Yoruba doesn't already have greater?

Yoruba Compete in UK and USA, you see the numbers of Yoruba that won elections in USA recently? You over rate your Barren region, there is nothing for Yoruba to do there.

South East is the smallest region in Nigeria, Oyo is bigger than South East, it should be the easiest region to develop.

Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has empowered more than 300 fashion designers in Ile-Ife and some communities around the ancient city as part of his 11-point agenda set up for the throne to assist the less privileged.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony Programme of Ojaja Fashion Training Institute, on Thursday, at his ancient Ile-Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, Ooni Ogunwusi expressed his heartfelt joy the success of the initiative over the past five years.

He lauded Olori Temitope Ogunwusi for being the facilitator via her nongovernmental organization -Hopes Alive Initiative (HAI) long before her emergence as an Olori in the Palace.

“I have known Olori Temitope for a long time and one thing no one can take away from her is her philanthropic gesture, she gives wholeheartedly without looking back. This is the basis upon which she established Hopes Alive Initiative, a nongovernmental organization that organizes this event.” Ooni Ogunwusi said.

While addressing the beneficiaries who got trained in the art and trade of cloth making and also given start up equipment for free, Ooni Ogunwusi stressed that young individuals must be empowered with adequate skills and others necessary for them to have a better future.

He however applauded parents of the young minds for the love and support which has brought them thus far.

The Co-chairman of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) equally acknowledged the Coordinator of Ojaja Fashion Training Initiative and Ojaja Vocational Training School, Mr Samuel Adeyanju for modeling these lives for self-reliance.

Addressing newsmen, the Deputy Convener/CEO of Hope Alive Initiative (HAI), Olori Temitope Ogunwusi, applauded Ooni for being a responsible Royal Father who wants everybody to make it in life.

Queen Ogunwusi said that her husband does not believe that something is impossible, so this motives promoted him to always helping the downtrodden both in academics and non-academics.

“If anybody wants to attributes anything to Ooni, is humanitarian service, for he loves all and sundry with the believes that all fingers are not equal. He fulfills God’s Will of meaningful people to assist the less privilege, that’s why I see him as my first role model.

“My being here is the fulfilment of the Will of God for me, because helping others is my passion, assured that this would assist me to fulfill my dream when seeing Ooni daily having compassion on the poor.” She stated.

Olori Ogunwusi charged other philantorpists to stand up for the help of others by emulating Ooni, know that everyone would give account of him/herself on judgement day.

The CEO admonished the graduands to work on their mind and not to relent on tailoring level, but to aspire more on fashion designing so as to become modernised fashionists.

She appealed to them to see this training as fundamental knowledge of what they should have started to be, they shouldn’t stop there, but should try to make their best.
With God on their side, they would move the mountains.

CultureOoni’s Wife Temitope Commissions Projects In Ile-ife by Elemosho478(op): 8:11am On Nov 06, 2022
Olori Temitope, one of the new wives of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has commissioned two boreholes for the use of traders at major markets in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The queen, who is the deputy convener of Hope Alive Initiative (HAI), commissioned the two boreholes at Oja-Tuntu, Odo-Ogbe area on Friday.

Queen Temitope, who acknowledged the importance of water in human community, appreciated Oba Ogunwusi for giving her the privilege to establish God’s purposeful will for her life.

According to her, God destined her to assist the less privileged.

“I think that we must commend the humanitarian heart of our father, the Ooni of Ife, for making this to happen, for he’s a lover of all his subjects and indeed the Yoruba race, ” she stated.

The queen admonished the people of the market to use the water judiciously and ensure they properly maintain the boreholes for effective use.

The queen added that she strongly believes that the boreholes would add value to the businesses of all the stakeholders in the market.

Earlier, father of the Ooni of Ife, Prince Ropo Ogunwusi, appreciated the king and his queen for the project.

Otun Babaloja of Odo-Ogbe, Chief Olaoluwa Odeyemi, who spoke on behalf of traders, thanked the Ooni and his queen for showing compassion by giving them the two boreholes.

Odeyemi pledged that they would use the water for the benefit of all and sundry.

Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Ooni’s father, the Elerefe of Erefe, Oba Mayowa Fayemi; and Agbolu of Agbaje-Ife, Oba Adekunle Adebowale.

FamilyRe: Why Do Africans Prefer Suffering Or Putting Themselves In Difficult Situations? by Elemosho478: 12:09pm On Nov 05, 2022
Maaverick:
In developed countries, Good system of government, social amenities, low unemployment rate, good minimum wage/earnings yet most people have 1, 2, 3 children while few have 5+... Or some want no children.

Why do people in African e.g in Nigeria with very bad system of government, no social amenities, high unemployment rate, low pay rate yet people have or give birth to more number of children Or any number yet go ahead to complain how difficult it is to take care of them? Like they don't know it requires money to do things in life huh

Can't comfortably pay the school fees of the 2 children you have yet adding more children huh So that you can have 3 or 4 children that you can't pay school fees for?

Your salary is 250k, you finish some of the months with borrowing yet adding more children hence lability undecided

The current living condition your salary is giving, you are finding it difficult to push through yet adding more children huh Hence making life more difficult or what could be the motive?

A single guy/girl finding it difficult to survive on his/her 100k salary but would go ahead and marry, pour children huh

Is it a crime to have no children or the number of children your salary can afford?

In my opinion, here we don't value children, human life and the basic wellbeing of the children we give birth to. Hence you see people even in their state of abject poverty adding more children or those that are doing a little better adding more children just to fulfill their desire of having X number of children even when the ones they already have is difficult to maintain.

Another reason is that people don't think or reason for themselves. They just follow the societal norms like zombies and do what everyone is doing.

These things always makes me wonder.
Religion is the number one answer

People believe God will take care of the children for them some how.

More excuses. No self respecting warrior tribe gives up its sovereignty and territory without a fight. If Ilorin belonged to a self respecting tribe, the Fulani wouldn't dare be resting easy. Rather you people are still too dull in projecting them to power.

Haha...find more excuses. The screenshot you included even described your yeye resistance to colonialism as a "short war". In case you don't know, pre-colonial Igbo was also not united but kept the British off most of Igbo clans for 29 years. They overran you in few days for just one Ijebu clan that even had a little ball to fight. The Ekumeku war was fought from 1883 to 1914 by just one Igbo clan, Anioma. Even the British needed divide and rule Nigeria is using today to defeat the Anioma people. So stop making a comparison where none exists.
So much chest beating from a tribe that were colonized by ordinary Igala

You called British Ijebu war a short war but even the Ekumeku you chest beat heavily about was described as just a movement, what made the movement last so long was the guerilla and terrorist tactics that was adopted by Anioma people. Unlike the British - Ijebu war that was conventional one, Anioma didn't have the ball to confront the British in a conventional war, they just attacked unsuspecting British officers and run like cowards and terrorists. Just like Boko haram and ESN

What made you think it was so great lol? Do you even know what it feel like to manage an empire? The Igbo were too disorganized to have any empire. How big is Igbo land? Oyo state alone is bigger than all South East States and even with that small land Igala people still managed to conquered and colonized Igbo in Anambra, today Igala are still in Anambra.

Igbo are lucky Igala, Benin, and Yoruba shielded South East from Fulani Jihadists, if not the small land you are chest beating of today would have been taken over by Fulani and what we would have today would be Igbo/Fulani just like Hausa/Fulani.

Do you know how many Yoruba that died during the Civil War across Yoruba land?
Do you even know how many that died during Oyo Empire Era and fought to Increase Oyo influence to far away Dahomey, Oyo Empire even clashed with Ashanti Empire in Ghana?
There were also Fulani jihadists trying to take over Yoruba land.

Yoruba wanted Peace at that time and were tired of wars, the British also had superior technology and Armaments it wouldn't be easy to fight them at that weakened state, the British Promised peace and that made Yoruba to easily surrender.

If there wasn't so much war in Yoruba land at that time and Yoruba were united, the British really wouldn't have had it easy.

Stop beating your hairy chest lol, the only reason Yoruba did not challenge the British much was because of the Civil War in Yoruba land, even with tha some Yoruba sub tribe still challenged them, go and Google about the British-Ijebu war and even Before the British took over Lagos it was after they defeated THE Yoruba in Lagos.

The British are only lucky Yoruba were not that United during the precolonial Era, the chaos, disunity and civil war in Yoruba land gave the British easy victory and made Yoruba surrender because at that time most Yoruba sub tribes were tired of fighting any war.

To know the capability of each tribe, let's isolate them from Nigeria using precolonial encounter with the whiteman. Most of you challenging Igbo today had your ancestors give up their sovereignty without a fight due to cowardice. The Igbo country fell to the British after more than 29 years of war of conquest.

You can Google the Ekumeku war, the Aro-British war and several other wars between Igbo clans and the British. Should I mention northern Igbo clans such as Ezza and Abam who are fearless warriors? What are we even comparing. In teems of bravery, you don't compare Igbo with Yoruba who are just Nigerian opportunistic feeders.

Yoruba indeed. So the war was no longer won because both Russia and the British were arming Nigeria. The way you Yoruba take credit for what you're incapable of is amusing.

When you announce warrior tribes in Nigeria, the Yoruba won't feature among first 10 despite being a major tribe.
Shut up is it not the same Igbo, Igala, Benin and Ijaw sold to slavery?

The whole truth and nothing but the truth.
But the most annoying thing about such things is that it gives the wrong impression about what each ethnic group is good at in Nigeria.
For example, it took me reading about the Nigeria army of the colonial and pre-civil war era to know that Igbos make FINEST soldiers.
But if you were reading Nigeria history post-civil war, you would think that Igbo are not capable of soldiering.
By a long shot, Igbo make the best of military officers.
FACT.
Igbo makes the best soldiers lol? How

I will say Yoruba, Yoruba are tacticians. Yoruba can easily dominate Nigerian Army on merits alone if not for Fulani and Hausa. Biafra were winning the Civil War until Yoruba entered the fray. If Yoruba did not partake in the Civil War and Ojuwku left South west alone, Biafra could have easily won the war.

CultureIs This Why Ooni Of Ife Is Marrying Several Wives? by Elemosho478(op): 3:39pm On Nov 02, 2022
Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni Of Ife, has finally revealed his reasons for marrying multiple women for weeks now.

The Ooni while marking his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, has now clarified why he married Mariam Anako and the others.

Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni Of Ife, has finally revealed his reasons for marrying multiple women for weeks now.

Recall that the Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has become a subject of discussion following his series of marriages, especially as he is set to marry his sixth wife, Princess Temitope Adesegun today, October 24th.

Everything started when the Ooni of Ife welcomed an Ebira-born queen, Mariam Anako to his Ile Ife palace in September 2022—nine months after Prophetess Seyi Naomi announced on Instagram her decision to divorce him. After welcoming Mariam, he has since gone to marry six other women in a space of three weeks.

The monarch wedded Mariam Anako and Dr. Elizabeth Akinmuda in September.

In October, he married Queen Tobi Phillips, Queen Ashley, and Queen Ronke Ademiluyi.

Princess Temitope Adesegun would be his sixth wife.

The Ooni while marking his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, has now clarified why he married Mariam Anako and the others.

The Ooni explained that he tried making some changes but he couldn’t. Maybe referring to his decision to keep to only one queen and have concubines, the monarch said of the traditional heritage of Ile Ife, “This institution is bigger than me, beyond me. People in this palace are more than 800, they are close to a thousand. There are some people who have been living in this palace for more than 60 years, while some have lived here for more than 80 years old. Some people are over 100 years old in this Palace.

If I had my way, I tried to challenge it but it blew in my face but thank God I’m still alive. It’s an institution that is rich in heritage, culture, and tradition.”

However in a new development, a medical doctor from Ekiti state has applied to become the sixth wife of the Ooni of Ife.

The Medical doctor, identified as Bella Nifemi made a submission to the monarch.

She promised to represent Twitter and the Ekiti community well if considered as his wife.

“This is my submission to be Ooni’s 8th wife. I’m also a Medical Doctor and I will represent Twitter and Ekiti community well”.

It is only agbadorian cockroaches that are mourning the death of their almighty queen amongst her former colonies. That says an awful lot about the mental health of willing slaves. Every other part of the former British empire are genuinely enraged by the genocidal history of that evil empire. But Tinupoos henchemen want us to cry that the queen is dead. The same monarchy that killed millions of Africans in their land and made great efforts to saddle the black color with all sorts of humiliating history ..

And I have always said it here that this kind of "Stockholm syndrome" is cultural. Chinua Achebe mentioned this in his book "There was a country". Certain segments of the Nigerian state are populated by folks who have been browbeaten overtime by their evil rulers, to accept servitude as a normal way of life! You will see them rolling on the floor to greet their overdressed Obas as they get upset with you for questioning such overtly dramatic display of inferiority complex . They wear grand servitude as a badge of honor. Big shame!

These days, they have become proud agents of darkness midwifing evil. They will support all types of dictators in the country because in their land, even before the coming of the white man, monarchical dictatorships reigned surpreme! They are surprised when you call for accountability because shuch words are alien in their default cultural settings.. Who asks the Ooni or the emirs how they run the finances of the traditional stools? Who questions the ordinary humans they have made tingods!?
I can't blame you for calling the gesture of showing respect in Yoruba culture as servitude because there is nothing like that in your culture, you are just jungle barbarians without culture people that wakes their parents up with a kick.

It is not only Yoruba people that practices that, people in CHINA, Japan, Thailand and Asia in general practices it but something like that is alien to a barbarian like you. At least if you want to denigrate Yoruba for that you should speak the whole fact, Yoruba doesn't prostrate to the kings alone we prostrates to our parents, elders etc as a form of showing respect but according to you any people that practices any form of bowing or prostrates are slaves only barbarians and uncivilized Igbo are Freeborn.

The funniest thing is that people like you may happily bow to Mary statue as a catholic like so many Igbo out there that practices catholic as a religion, the same religion the colonial masters you castigated forced on you through slavery but you can condemned your fellow Africans because they bow as a form of showing respect to people in their midst and not to a lifeless statue the same colonial masters convinced you to be worshipping.

My point is that IF they've had the best before then the difference between North & South is NOT in ability/aptitude.

Many who read your comments (believe it or not) are not wise enough to know this. They might hold the impression that they are naturally 'duller' than a Southerner. And that's wrong.

As for the reason why they aren't USUALLY in the top lists, it's due to priority, motivation & interests.

They tilt mostly to religion/ culture in motivation/ interests. And they are skeptical about western education as we know it. Because it is heavily influenced by Western religion.
You are right
I don't believe northerners aptitude and abilities are lower than southerners, our priorities are just different.

But when they stay like that for so long without changing people would start believing it to be true and considering the possibility that maybe they have bad aptitude.

Northerners are not the only people practicing Islam on earth, we have Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey etc and they excel in academics and science. Turkey, Pakistan, Iran are among the leading nations when it come to military technology.

The northerners just don't want to change and when they refuse to change people would start believing that their Aptitude and abilities are poor.
