Bar1941:Peter Obi lives rent free in your head. Not only house to put the house in order. It is to put your one room in order for you. |
openmine:That’s exactly the situation. Abure is simply trying to spoil the chances of his own party. He simply would have allowed the party elect the new officers last year, and try to contest again. |
gr8ofnnetwork:Shoooking mouth in what you know nothing about is embarrassing. Worse still is not giving yourself the opportunity to read, learn and understand issues before shoooking your mouth. If you do not know anything about the events in LP, it is not disgraceful to ask and get informed. |
Penguin2:His only reason for leaving LP was the same Abure. That was his complain. Hopefully Abure, Apapa and Arabambi, can receive some sense and let the party have peace again. |
DaGC:That’s why I think that she will let her children inherit her wealth. |
DaGC:That was the plan that he had with his ex wife, now fellow billionaire. Probably his wife will now allow the three children to inherit her over 5B in US dollars. |
APC supporter. Tell us how well APC governors have done in their respective states. Tell us how Ned can ever out perform Okowa. OP, this was clearly one sided please. |
Akinpresident:Read the below and get better understanding. Your comment about is without proper reasoning. The supreme court has set aside the judgment of the court of appeal in Abuja which recognised Julius Abure as the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP). In a verdict delivered on Friday, a five-member panel of the apex court unanimously held that the appellate court lacked the jurisdiction to have affirmed Abure as chairman of the LP, since the substance of the case was about the party’s leadership. It held that the issue of leadership is an internal affair of a party over which courts lack jurisdiction. The court allowed the appeal filed by Nenadi Usman, a former senator representing Kaduna south, and one other — and held that there were meritorious. It then proceeded to dismiss the cross-appeal filed by the Abure faction of the LP for lacking in merit. BACKGROUND In February, Oluchi Oparah, the party’s national treasurer, accused Abure of misappropriating N3.5 billion, a claim the LP chairman denied while threatening legal action. The allegation led to calls from party members for Abure’s removal. In April 2023, the FCT high court issued an order restraining Abure from parading himself as the national chairman of the LP. Ruling on an ex parte application, Hamza Muazu, the presiding judge, also restrained Farouk Ibrahim, national secretary; Clement Ojukwu, national organising secretary; and Opara; from parading themselves as national officers of the party. On September 4, Usman was appointed to chair a 29-member caretaker committee after Alex Otti, governor of Abia state, convened a stakeholders meeting of the party in Umuahia. Peter Obi, LP presidential candidate in 2023, and Datti Baba-Ahmed, his running mate, were among the top party members who attended the meeting. INEC had also invalidated Abure’s leadership, saying the national convention violated the constitution and Electoral Act. The electoral body said the party failed to meet legal requirements for holding the convention, insisting that Abure’s tenure as LP national chair expired in June 2024. But in a judgment on October 8, the federal high court affirmed the Abure-led leadership and the March 2024 Nnewi convention that produced the party executives. Emeka Nwite, presiding judge, ordered INEC to recognise Abure as the legitimate chairman of the party. APPEAL COURT In a judgment delivered on January 17, the court of appeal ruled that its earlier decision in November 2024, recognising Abure as the party’s chairman, remains valid and has not been overturned by any court. He said anything that is done outside jurisdiction amounts to a nullity. Consequently, the court voided a judgment of the federal high court delivered on October 8, 2024, on the grounds that the lower court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the suit. Your so called Abure’s election in 2024 in Nnewi was it accepted by party members, not to talk of INEC. What’s Obi’s business with the exodus from LP? How can he stop them from exiting the party, if they are no longer convinced about the party? Which party have people not been decamping from, or all the parties? Always read and have information before making such myopic and disgraceful comments on social media spaces. |
aswani:And you did not read that he had a valid visa? And common sense did not tell you that while the case lasted, he would be given the necessary paper to keep him there and face the charge? |
oceanblazer:Exactly! |
French and English as the working languages? What does that mean? If you do not want the languages anymore, then have an outright ban. It’s like saying “I do not like beans, yet I eat akara and moimoi”. That’s hypocrisy please. |
BlessedGift:Very clear. Very straight forward. The Supreme Court clearly nullified the judgement of the lower courts recognizing Abure as the national chairman. By that Abure should simply go home and sleep. The Supreme Court effectively removed him. What is he waiting for there? He should not even get close to the secretariat, not to talk of the chairman’s office. |
chicfarmer:That’s a dining table! Maybe after chopping ogunfe and eba, he called the press. I remember that he shut his mouth after the last action against him. Anyway, as the acting national chairman, why not get into the party secretariat to declare that and seat on the chairman’s seat? As for Julius Abure, NLC already gave the notice of taking over the party’s offices nationwide. I’ve is already out of it completely. He can officially join APC. |
That’s the right way to go. This has taken many years to be challenged. Let’s hear the interpretation of the supreme court. This will help not just the affected governor(s), but the whole governors in the country. Today it is APC in power at the federal level, if another party holds federal power tomorrow, the Supreme Court interpretation will sort it out, if it repeats itself. |
MadamExcellency:If Apapa had anti-party activities, how then was he better than Abure? They both plotted to foist themselves on the party and systematically destroy that party from inside. If the party had won the Presidency, what would they be doing by now? Working against your own party at elections is one of the most dishonorable things to do as a politician. |
Waoh. So there are citizens of different nations fighting for both sides. |
seguntijan:Being a seasoned politician is not the same as being a visionary politician. Saraki appears to fall into the second category for me and I already gave the example with how he destroyed his own father’s political empire, while thinking that he had come of age. The rest became history when otoge gained momentum and swept him away from his Kwara base. I also gave my second reason with the way he joined the coalition with BAT, Atiku, Buhari, etc to sweep his own political party out of power. He handed that power over to BAT and now there he is, lost and bereft of ideas on getting better power from the same APC/BAT that he assisted to bring to power. It was the late Chuba Okadigbo, at a time an ally of BAT, who once used the words “reading the political barometer and doing the arithmetics”. He meant to let everyone know that politics is all about calculations and permutations. BAT is the type who plans the opportunity, sees it, takes advantage of it. With people like him in politics, you must be wide awake. An error can be very costly. That’s what the likes of Saraki, Atiku, Amaechi, Kwankwanso, Ngige, etc, did and now the pay the price. So for me his point does not make sense. When LP was accused of not having structures, Obi clearly stated several times that the structure was the people, and not the physical offices nationwide, as thought. We saw the result when LP in that instance secured 35 seats in the house of reps. The economy is the issue. Infrastructures are the issues. Hardship and pervasive poverty are the issues. Get a good and trusted leader, who knows what to say to the people. Back him up and get the people to follow him. Tinubu did the same in 2014 and 2019. Certainly BAT will get a run for his money. |
Putindbutt:Yes, it does. If it does not make sense to you, then you can simply discuss. |
Saraki remains far behind his father as a very tactful politician. His impatience led to his coalition to form APC. The space was no longer wide enough and he left. His political error cost his Kwara state, a state that his father carefully groomed and preserved since 1979. When he pushed his father away, he thought that Kwara state was in the palm of his hands. He did not reckon that by his attempt to destroy PDP, he was pushing himself down the political ladder in the matter of a little time. He has again forgotten that if Tinubu can block the formation of a new party, a coalition can proceed with an existing party. How is he so sure that in the last moments, some PDP governors would not be willing to fund a coalition. If it will serve their interest and they made the right political arithmetics or permutations, they may go ahead to fund the party. What Saraki needs to do now is to get Atiku off the attempt to secure the PDP Presidential ticket in 2027. S the reality is that by their unwritten agreement, power will remain in the South until 2031. A solid southern candidate should be supported contest a against Tinubu. Again, the reality is the Trinity has the necessary state and personal resources to contest in 2027. However a formidable candidate must be supported, otherwise PDP as a party will become a forgotten party after 2031. |
xana101:I think you should send this to the state governor via his X account. |
PressMyButton:And common sense did not tell you that she could have been one hundred percent correct? Common sense did not tell you that each Senator is there to represent his/her constituency and would everything within their means to stop others from benefiting or having such projects? Common sense did not tell you that Senator Natasha, as a sitting Senator knows all that happens in the house, or that they all are open and have ways discussing such matters. When you have your own children, if you like, you can plant igbo seeds into their hearts. |
DNAPro:He is for real! Completely uneducated. |
Ebubu:Do you see why you are an ebuubuu? And you claim to be educated? It does not take much to reason properly before making such uneducated comments as you made. “…a sitting senator protected from immunity…”. So Senators have immunities too? And your understanding of their immunity includes outside their chambers? Truly you be mumu. Olodo. When I say you be baba alagbo, you can now see the reason. In all the years of our democracy, where did you ever read that Senators have immunity? Now you can see that your Senator’s mouth has landed him in trouble. |
seunmsg:Did Tinubu hold any position in the party all the years that he was called the national leader? Was he the chairman of the party all that time? Where were you when it was clearly stated that Abure’s tenure has ended. What your sponsored Abure still holding on to? Supreme Court stated that it was a party matter. The horse long bolted away. While your Abure was clutching to straws, the party had moved forward with the caretaker committee. It is recognized and used by all parties, pending when fresh elections to positions are held. He is no longer party chairman. Tell that to him, to Ifoh and your APC sponsored agents in the party. Tell your Abure that the distance that they went in 2023 and up till today, were by the name Peter Obi. |
lawani:Yeye people. When did Abuja become Hausa/Fulani land? What happened to the natives of the place? By the way, how did it become Hausa/Fulani when we know that the relationship is one sided? By the way, it is longer a secret that the Fulanis are the biggest land grabbers in the country. Are they not the people who lay claim of the entire nation for the north to the Atlantic? Are they not the people who arrive in trailers day and night from every part of the country, making vast forests their abodes? Are they not the people pushing citizens away from their farmlands and seizing the farms to feed their cows? That fellow who posted that rubbish should stop deceiving himself and some gullible citizens, who will never know their left from their right. |
And now everyone is paying the price for that bad choice, including Atiku and Tinubu himself. |
EponObi:Complete dullard and a school failure. Ripple like you are the popular F9 parallel always talked about. |
SmartPolician:You got it. The man’s thinking is that El Rufai’s membership should attract bigger names like Atiku and Obi. However Obi proved at the last elections that all you need are the people. He clearly always said that the so called structure are the people and not the secretariats and offices scattered nationwide. With the people on your side, you win the positions. That’s the reason LP secured the positions they presently have, with Obi’s person. SDP does not have such a personality who can get the people behind him. Atiku has the people also and he is the PDP front runner, the biggest of all. |
How? |
Jesuspistol:Stamping her authority over her son shower who the boy’s mother is. A complete tiger in the house, who would not allow a rival, in his son’s wife. There is no experience there, but what politicians call “judicial recklessness”. This one should be entitled “mother in law recklessness”. The church to attend by couples after marriage sometimes is a very big issue. However, because they attend counseling selling before marriage, couples usually find common grounds for peace. Catholicism is like strong wine. Very hard to let go. Complete indoctrination, make life very easy. If you are born a catholic, you feel your roots deeply in it. Catholicism teaches you great things about Christianity and impacts you positively all your life. How can you pull a staunch catholic way from his/her church? Sadly, it was an error on the part of the young man and the lady to disagree over the matter. It could have been resolved between them, without the interference of the mother. With such a mother, that boy and any woman that he finds may not have peace. |
press9jatv:Not only that, she will defeat whoever they present as a candidate by a very wide margin. And if she chooses to contest the governorship in 2027, she will win. On their own, APC made Natasha more popular. |
Catapault:Continue living in self deception. Your salary is 70k a month and your have a wife and two children. Give us the calculation by yourself. As a young man, you spend 1,500 three times a day, which is 4,500. Multiply that by 24 days a month, with a salary of 70k and tell us how far. A good loaf of bread goes for 1,500 and you buy beans at 500. Add it up and tell us how it works, when you spend such sum three times daily. The man who deceived you with irresponsible comment knows that everywhere in the USA, you can find cheap eats. You can find meals for 5 dollars and enjoy yourself. Can you compare someone in the USA, earning the Federal minimum wage of 7.25 dollars per hour with their Nigerian counterparts who earn 70k monthly? At 7.25, you work for eight hours in the day. Calculate it and be honest to yourself. Stop supporting such wicked leaders who do not want you to live a better life. Kuku live permanently in your village na. Make una dey fear God sef. |
