the association of shy and introverted guys have come to a conclusion to blacklist the op from the list of possible dates for revealing our long-kept highly classified secret to the general public. for she has, with this revelation, considering the amount of 'likes' she got and counter comments generated, made us an endangered specie since we are no longer safe in the midst of extroverts and ladies alike. I therefore call on all introverts and shy guys to boycott the op..... signed: secretary-general of shy and introvert guys.. ![]() |

I express condolence with the victims of Kaduna and Kano bomb attacks and pray that the perpetrators of these attacks are brought to justice and made to face the full wrath of the law, not forgetting the wrath of Allah that will surely be visited on them also. May the enemies of peace in this country be put to shame. UPDATE Death toll now stands at about 1,110 on the Palestinian side with majority of them civilians and 55 Israelis consisting of three civilians and 53 soldiers -Fighting resumed on Monday 28 July after about 12-18 hours of humanitarian ceasefire -On 24 July a UN school that was sheltering refugees was hit in Gaza, killing 16 and injuring 150. It came a few days after some weapons were discovered in a vacant UN school by UN Human Rights inspection team. No warning was given before the attack according to the director of UNRWA. -Ceasefire plans proposed by US secretary of states have been rejected by Israel and the Palestine Authority with Israel criticizing John Kerry. -On July 28, ten people including nine children were killed when a missile struck a playground in a refugee camp. Israel denies it carried out the attack saying a Hamas missile that landed short was responsible, while Hamas said it was an israeli missile and that it had collected shrapnel at the site of the attack to show that it was an israeli missiles. -An israeli missile struck a clinic close to the hospital where victims of the attack on the refugee camp were taken. -At least another five Palestinians, including three children, were killed in other attacks on Monday. A four-year-old boy died when tank shells hit his family's house, and another person was killed by tank shelling in a separate incident. -4 israeli soldiers and 12 people were injured by mortar attacks in southern israel. -In New York, an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council called for "an immediate and unconditional humanitarian ceasefire". while it was the council's strongest statement yet on the Gaza war, it was not a resolution and therefore not binding. -Hamas wants israel to withdraw its army as a precondition to any long term ceasefire which must include lifting the blockade on Gaza and easing economic restrictions on Gaza, while israel wants the demilitarization of Gaza as precondition to talks and any ceasefire agreement. These irreconcilable differences remain an obstacle to ceasefire agreements. -There have also been protests in Occupied West Bank and Jerusalem against the war in Gaza with protesters clashing with police resulting in the deaths of about 7 protesters. Lets keep praying for the citizens of Gaza and hope that a ceasefire is reached soon that will not only end the present suffering of the people there, but also leads to lasting peace in the strip. Also pray for all conflict zones in the world which includes but not limited to CAR, South Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Ukraine e.t.c |
I just pray they are able to quickly contain the spread of the disease. This ebola virus makes HIV and Cancer look like saints. |
Reminds me of that book by Elechi Amadi, 'The Concubine'. |
eaglechild: Please, when you get to the mosque to pray, I implore you to boldly speak out against violence.I do speak out against violence of any form. And thank you for not being disrespectful. |
Fatdon: [b]Ten Obvious Reasons Whyyou have succeded in misleading about 263 more human beings based on the number of likes u got for the misinformation and disinformation. SMH. Keep it up. Its just disturbing how people just swallow any information hook line and sinker based on their sentiment. N.B: Any other bigot is free to quote me and say nonsense. Islam is here to stay. No amount of hating and false propanganda will stop it. The sooner you realise that, the better for you. You can go ahead qouting the Qu'ran and history out of context. It aint your fault, your audience knows no better and would rather remain in the dark. |
epospiky: I checked the site but couldn't see any information concerning the android wallet for virtacoin. Perhaps you should explain more.i used a pc to browse the site. Click the wallet tab and you would see wallets for windows, mac, linux and android. |
Just watched it on NTA |
saasala: The Quran actually supports this violence, if you doubt me Read this article that outlined verses in the Quran where violence and killing of innocent people is supported. Here: www.s0j1e89f6rYou are very misguided my friend. There are many verses in the bible too especially in Deuteronomy and Exodus that talks of killing innocent people. And dont try telling me that it is in the old testament because last time I checked it is still part of the bible. And I would like to know if the Church which killed a lot of people in the name of heresy and inquisition took orders from the Qur'an. |
unuane1: please can I use my android phone to convert from virtapay to virtacoin? and which of the wallet can I use to transfer to virtacoin since am not using a laptop. Instead of scolding our security forces for shooting at protesters, you all seem to be in support of them. Those protesters have a right to protest whatever cause they want. After all some sections of the country did not protest during the subsidy protest. We are yet to put an end to the rise of Boko Haram since their leader was killed extra-judicially and the extra judicial killing of suspected member (from Aljazeera People and Power video) and the army had gone ahead and shot at protesters. I pray that the government have the balls to investigate this thoroughly else we have just initiated the rise of the next group of insurgents. |
Please I need help connecting my virtacoin wallet to the network. I use glo to browse and until now, I have not been able to connect despite using it on a 3G network. From information available on www.virtacoin.info, the initial starting reward for solo mining is 8000 and is reduce 0.5% every week. I would like to know if anyone has tried solo mining and if we can all team together and create a mining pool |
kstyle2: Not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are muslims. Dats a fact. Proven and testedAnd what about the IRA (Irish Republican Army)? I guess they were muslims too right? Try to think before you talk and not the other way round. Like someone said "You swallow propaganda like birth control pills, selling your soul to the eye on the back of the dollar bill". No insult intended |
brosss: And how do you suppose hamas took over from fattah? Peaceful votes? An offshoot of the muslim brotherhood in egypt, how did they get to become interested in Gaza? There is no palestinian statement my friend, there's just Hamas, where are the palestinian people's voices..... That's a load of bull crap.how many israeli statements were issued when a young boy was shot when protecting his brother from sniper fire as they tried to gather fodder for animals close to the border. How many killings have gone unnoticed since the 2012 ceasefire? How many did israel apologized for? You all like to buy this terrorist line. Even if a movement is freedom fighting, everyone likes to see it as terrorist organisation. Why? Because it will justify any atrocity they carry out against such group. The brits did the same with the IRA. In case u have nt notice Gaza is a 12x40 kilometer strip, seperated from the West Bank by Israel. It is home to 1.8 million people making it the world most densly populated place. You say they should flee to other palestinian territories when israel's land act as a barrier between Gaza and West Bank. Y dont u check the map. Where are the palestinian peoples' voice? Have u ever heard of the first and second intifada? If you watched Aljazeera like you have claimed, then you would also know that Palestinians are protesting everyday. FYI, many people in Gaza depend on smuggling tunnels that run into Egypt for basic supplies. And those tunnels have been destroyed by the present Egyptian government. What about the activist aid ship from Turkey that was delivering aid to Gaza and was boarded by israeli military and a number of people were killed. Most people here especially on Nairaland will support israel because the like to think that all Palestinians are muslims and as such deserve whatever is done to them. How misguided you all are. The birth place of Jesus, Bethlehem, is in Palestine and there are alot of Palestinian christians whose homes have also been destroyed by Israel expansion of settlements in the occupied territory. There are also protests in Nazareth. Palestinian christians are also subjected to the same abuse and discriminations as their muslim counterparts. When people fight for their land, you call them terrorists. Two days ago, the UN voted to investigate Israel for war crimes in the ongoing war. 17 European countries abstained, and only the US voted against the resolution. There are over 150 countries in that body, does it mean that the remaining over 130 also see Hamas as a terrorist organisation? Am done arguing with you bro. |
brosss: I read ur post...... Even if they knew those teenagers were dead 24hrs later, still doesn't create te right environment for sweeping thos death under the carpet!By reassresting the Hamas members, Israel broke a 2012 Egyptian brokered ceasefire agreement. And which part of Hamas denying any involvement do you not understand? And the part in which you said Hamas uses people as human sheild by refusing access to exit shows how little you know about the conflict. FYI, Israel has maintained a land, air and sea BLOCKADE over Gaza since 2007. Its israeli that has prevented peopel from leaving. In other places of conflict, people are free to leave their country during a war, not Gaza, because Israel wont let them. People have been shot at for going close to the border to gather folder. As for ur argument that Hamas is a terrorist organisation, let me remind you that it won elections in 2005. EU countries welcomed the unity government and u said its a terrorist organisation. |
brosss: And I suppose, by your ideals, israel shouldn't go after her abducted citizens, stop allowing your biased mind give u a myopic view of this topic. Can't u see, d abduction(killing) of three innocent israelis is an attempt to force israelis hands, In which case, israel wisely applied restraints and chose to fish out the miscreants. Rather than bombard palestine which they are well capable of. So, u'ld excuse me if I say, those shellings were unprovoked. Going after murdering criminals who murdered 3 of your citizens, isn't by any standards a provocation....... Pity pity..... And I thought there were no boko sympathizers....if u read my post well, u will see that I said Hamas denies any involvement. Plus, the israeli top echelon knew those teenagers were dead twenty four hours after their abduction, yet the spent two weeks putting on a show of finding them. Am not saying killing those teens should be tolerated, they are also humans and their lives are sacred too, but Israel killed 7 Palestinians and arrested over 500 in retaliation. No evidence was given linking Hamas to the crime. In addition, to arresting the two men who were alleged to have done the terrible act, their homes were also destroyed. Mind you, these men have no links to Hamas. Netanyahu was quick to finger Hamas becuase of his disapproval of the unity government formed between Hamas and Fatah, a move that many EU countries were in favour of. It killed 7 and arrested 500 for the murder of three israeli, but when a palestinian boy was also burnt to death by israelis, six persons were arrested and two of them confessed. The homes of the two who confessed was not destroyed, no israeli lost their lives during the search for the murder. Is this discrepancy not clear enough? Thats why I said u had not followed it from when it started. Again, no offense. |
I started using virtapay about four years ago, but paused as a result of school work. I started using it again and soon afterwards, it was converted to virtacoin which is said to be like bitcoin and which i have little knowledge of. I am trying to know more about it from searches I made on the net and I am quite interested in it. To see a post on it is quite encouraging and I hope fellow virtacoin holders would put me through when I need help. Thanks. |
brosss: I have followed this development carefully both on cnn and aljazeeraI doubt if u followed it from the beginning. Am sure u started 'following' when u heard there was a war over there. If u had followed it from last year when peace talks where initiaited to last april when the talks failed as a result of Israels continued building on occupied territory which prompted Palestine to join a number of UN organisations, then maybe you will have a better undertstanding of what led to the current war. 1) Unprovoked and unannounced shelling of israel- over 2000 rounds intercepted in two days.Actually, the rocket firing was provoked by Israel. It carried out Operation brother's keeper in response to abduction and killing of three israeli settler. It blames Hamas for it without presenting any proof and Hamas has repeatedly denied it. During the operation, 7 palestinians were killed and over 500 were arrested, many of whom were Hamas members that we freed in previous cease fire agreements. It also destroyed the house of the two suspects involved in the killing. So when you say its unprovoked, I wonder what you mean. But since I am led to believe that you just started following the conflict, you ignorance is forgiven. No insult intended. |
UPDATE: -israel prepares for ground invasion after failure of ceasefire plan with aim 'to destroy tunnels' used by Hamas -israel distributes pamphlets telling residents in the nother part of Gaza to leave. But to where? note that Gaza has been blockaded by israel and egypt since 2006. Israel controlls the air, sea and land entrances to Gaza. egypt also controlls a part of the land entrance. - israeli ground offensive starts amids continued land, air and sea bombardments - civilian death toll rises. -worst death toll so far occured on 20 july in shujayea where 68 people were killed most of whom were civilians. Among which there are 17 children, 18 women and fourteen elderly persons. Its is reported that bodies litter the street everywhere. A video surface showing a wounded man being shot by israel sniper as paramedics were trying to get to him during a two hour humanitarian ceasefire. -as of this writing, 573 people have been killed in Gaza, majority of whom are civilians, and over 3000 have been injured so far. On tthe israeli side, 25 soldiers and 2 civilians have been killed and 101 soldiers injured. -Hamas claims to have captured an israeli soldier, a claim denied by israel. - a few hours earlier, an hospital was hit by israeli tank shells, killing five patients and wounding another 50. Its the third hospital to have been hit. -Hamas has fired 2000 rockets into israel so far, many of which has been intercepted by israeli iron dome defense system. 2 deaths have occured from the rockets so far. -the 'UN' secretary general and US secretary of states are due in cairo on july 22 for ceasefire talks. N.B: the role of Egypt as a mediator had been debated, since the new Egyptian government considers Hamas as an off shoot of Muslim Brotherhood which it considers a terrorist organisation and by implications considers Hamas as a terrorist organisation too. -the US has repeatedly sided israel, though it is now demanding a ceasefire. -Hamas wants any ceasefire plan to include lifting of the blockade on Gaza, a move israel and egypt is reluctant to accept. I still iterate my calls for a prayer for the people of Gaza. For the defenseless children, women and elderly that have nowhere to go and no bomb shelters to hide. May Allah bring then peace and succor. Not forgetting all civilians also caught up in the ukrainian crises, the syrian war, CAR crises and other trouble spots in the world. Last but not least, may Allah give us peace in our dear country Nigeria. |
delishpot: Ok o, true true venom dey my body o. I go take your advice and purge it make I no hate till I die.thats the spirit mi amigo. If we let ourselves be consumed by hate, we would be no different from those we hate. One love. |
delishpot: Why una too carry arms? All the christians dembdon kill for muslim countries, all the denials for christians in muslim countries how many arms christians dem don carry? Howmany villages dem don invade? Abi have islamic states not also placed heavy laws on christians in their lands? Did anyone carry arms to kill muslems? Is bush head of christians? Is bush fighting for christians? Dont you have google in your phone? Havent you read where Americans are against invassions in those countries?purge urself of venom my friend. U and I knw boko haram has less to do with religion, afterall, Yar'adua a muslim president first ordered a crack down on them. Fyi, The first boko haram up rising mainly targeted govt institutions. Using Bush invasion of iraq as an analogy is to tell u that u should not generalize a population based on the actions of a few, and should not look at conflicts as a christian vs muslim issue. Did muslims and christians not protect each other during protests in egypt? The problem is that people have become tend nowadays to look every conflict with a religious undertone. If people fight over land in jos or kaduna, everybody would say its muslim and christians fighting. If herdmens clash with farmers, its a religious crisis. Muslims speak against violence, its just that most people would rather not hear it. I commend u for speaking against the war in Gaza. I also speak against it, nt from a religious point of view, but frm a humanitarian point of view. As to ur 'denials for christians in muslim countries', their are alot of countries that also deny muslims of their right. Note that Most information people have on islam are either misinformation or disinformation. |
delishpot: During that time, did mohamed not do his own too? Do you want to say Islam never shed blood in those days? Did islam not kill people? Force conversion, raid towns and villages too? So islam no dey grow ni? We gree say before all religions did bad things, but why is islam still rolling in blod? Is islam still in 2000bc?When u have enough knowledge of history, come back and comment. When Bush invaded Iraq on false pretext that was peace right? Or Bush was a muslim right? U Talk of peace and china bans its muslim official from fasting. If those affected take up arms, u all will start shouting that muslims are violent. U ignorantly use a section of people to jugde billions of people. When muslims are being attacked in other places, it hardly attracts media attention and u talk of peace. Try to be objective in ur comments please. |
Prowizy2: Am only saying the truth, don't be bitterlikewise. FYI, the roman catholic church is also responsible for numerous wars, murders, torture, deaths and inquisition throughout history, doing it in the name of God. Last i checked, the church is a christian body. |
Prowizy2: Very soon we will start hearing bomb blast and terrorism in Belgiumits better to keep quiet and let people think u are stupid than to speak up and remove all doubts. |
A lot of negative and even ignorant comments on this thread. Here is an appeal to save the people of gaza and a brief "timeline" of the conflict. www.nairaland.com/1816297/pray-gaza-save-gaza |
This piece is written to implore everyone who reads its to say a prayer for the people of Gaza. For a week, Israel had bombed Gaza in response to rockets fired from the strip by Hamas Military Wing. As of writing this, 222 Palestinians have been killed and 1570 injured. Of the dead, there are 40 children and 25 women among the over 150 civilians that have been killed. On the Israel side, 1 person has been killed and 15-20 persons have been injured. Although the targeting of Hamas is seen as an act of self-defense on the part of Israel, the civilian casualty is very disturbing. A case is of this is the killing of four children by an airstrike on a beach in an area that has not seen any militant activity according to foreign journalists. Calls for a ceasefire have not been to loud as the UN security council is divided on how to carefully draft a resolution that will not offend Israel ,or rather, its right to self-defense. But the root to the recent conflict can be traced to the collapse of peace talks in April as a result of Israel expansion of settlements in occupied territory. Gaza is a land of 12km by 40km inhabited by 1.7 million people and is the world's most densely populated area.. The continued building of settlements made the Palestinian Authority to pull out of peace talks and apply for membership in a UN organizations as a move to seek a larger UN recognition. The blame of the collapse of the peace talks was put on Israel. Two months later, Hamas and Fatah the two rival factions in Palestine formed a unity government, a move which was welcomed by most EU countries to the consternation of Israel prime minister. Timeline of the war and the situation that lead to it. - Three Israel teenage settlers were abducted while hitchhiking home. - Israel blames Hamas and Hamas denies any knowledge of it. It was later found out that two Palestinians with no link to Hamas were responsible. - Israel launches a search for the abducted teenagers and in the process, kills 7 Palestinians and arrests over 300. Many of those arrested were actually prisoners that were released months before. Houses of suspects were also demolished. - The bodies of the teenagers were found buried. - Israelis call for revenge, a call echoed by many government officials, leading to revenge attacks on Palestinians living in Israel. - A teenage Palestinian boy was abducted on his way home, his burnt body was discovered a few days later with autopsy revealing that he was burnt alive. - Six Israelis were arrested in connection to the murder and two confessed to the crime and are awaiting trial. - Hamas in response to the arrest of its members, fires rockets into Israel. - Israel responds by airstrike. - Egypt propose a ceasefire which Israel accepts. - Hamas rejected the ceasefire saying it was not consulted and that terms were not favorable as it wants a long term ceasefire that includes ending the blockade on the Gaza strip, releasing rearrested members and opening all crossings into the strip. - The fighting continued with the civilians bearing the brunt. - A five hour truce was negotiated to allow UN humanitarian aid enter Gaza. We hug bowls of food for iftar while our brothers in Gaza hug the bodies their dead children. The least we can do is to say a prayer for them I have written the brief "timeline" so as to forestall any negative comments. I am asking you to say a prayer not trade sentiment-laden remarks. if we let ourselves to be consumed with hate, we would be no different from those we hate. Also say a prayer so that our beloved country win the war against terror. #prayfornigeria Not forgetting everywhere that is being rocked by one conflict or the other, south Sudan, CAR, Ukraine, Iraq, Syria e.t.c #prayfortheworld #weareallinvolved PS: please if you do not have anything positive to write, kindly refrain from posting negative comments. Source: I read most of the news from the BBC and AlJazeera and I have been following the conflict. |
