PoliticsRe: Self Defense: Whatever Happened To Common Sense In Nigeria by Elmaaq: 8:47am On Jan 31, 2021
BENARI:
I lived in northern nigeria for many years, and one thing I can tell you is, the first property a fulani man buys even before a sleeping mat is weapons(whichever he can afford). I used to think those days that it was stupidity since they hardly used them. Hardly did I know I was the fool.
The culture of keeping weapons for self defense is as old as humans on this planet. Ever wondered why many of our grand and great grand fathers owned double barrels even as poor as they were then? Of course not all of them were hunters and those weapons came to them at a huge cost, but they had them all the same. In the west and other parts of the world, self defense tools are a norm, forget all the noise from America; the only reason it's so pronounced in the US is because the people are intoxicated with sophisticated gun ownership, but weapon ownership is a global right and practice. Even the united nations chatter recognise that self defense is a fundamental human right. Jesus even said to sell your garment and buy a sword.

I still don't understand why this generation of mostly southerners and those they call middle belt have become foolish about thier own security. The government is telling you to rely on thier own compromised and at best inefficient security agencies to protect you and you agree with them, yet everyday Nigerians are being killed by criminals and terrorists who go against government regulations and buy deadly weapons to kill innocent law abiding citizens?

Today people in the southwest are now being displaced from thier homes and ancestral lands because of foreigners who come in with this same unlawful weapons to pillage, rape, kill, and drive them away from thier land. The story is the same Benue, Plateau, Zamfara, Kastina, in fact all over Nigeria. And what is the government and so called security agencies doing about it; nothing! At best they themselves are also targeted and killed. Therefore I ask, when "our mumu go do" for heaven's sake? If the criminal who is killing you in your own home and land is not afraid of obtaining weapons to carry out his crimes, why should the law abiding helpless citizens be too afraid to obtain weapons to protect himself and his family? Unless somebody can tell me the rationale, then it remains a mystery to me. Just yesterday, we read news of the lawmaker who shot and killed an armed robber who invaded his home. If hadn't a weapon, he probably will be dead now or in the kidnappers den negotiating ransom. Yet you listen to him when he and his colleagues tell you to rely on the security agencies to protect you?

All I see today is that even the government and security agencies are in need of protection themselves let alone them protecting you and I.

To your tenth O Israel
While the Fulani is allowed to carry weapons you dare not do so
There was a community that prevented an attack from herdsmen if I remember correctly the military went and disarmed them and I don't think they survived after that

There's a reason regional outfits like Amoketun exist if the police and military were doing their job securing Nigerians lives and Properties they wouldn't be needed

SportyBet is Fraud guys beware
My sporty bet account was hacked and all the money in my bank account was withdrawn since the platform encouraged the saving of our banks details online (on the sporty site).

The platform permitted the hacker to log me out of my account, change my password, and have control access of my account to the extent of making a deposit via my account and made withdrawals with different bank details not registered with the account and all my effort to change my password was all abortive when I noticed I could not log into my account.

To my amazement sporty bet allowed withdrawal from my account to another person's account and all my money was wiped off from my account.

Guys please stay clear from this platform. see the screenshot below.
Walk into area Command and ask for special investigations unit or bereau and lodge your complaint

JohnNU:
The yoruba might agree to the plan but the Igbos i doubt if they will allow that to happen and we from the middle belt will gladly fight to finish.
The igbos will have no choice

I understand the need for Biafra as they're marginalized but the way Kanu is going about it they'll lose out in all areas

The igbos in Mass sat at home during the elections and their future and quality of life was decided in abj

Imagine if they chose their governor, insisted that their roads were fixed, along with power and infrastructure

But no they chose to sit at home
They had the opportunity to change things from within or at least improve things greatly from within but they gave it up
I hope that they get their desire but with the way the world works who knows

Nigerians wake up, fulani soldiers are being sent to the south to wreck havoc, assist fulani herdsmen and to keep buhari in power after 2023.
Don't think buhari will just step down for someone to rule, buhari wants to rule forever by 2023 he's gonna become a full time dictator..

They know sending Northern soldiers to the South will help them violate the right of people in the south as they are not from the south and also buhari supporters..

Nigerians be ready a war is coming.. This fulani people are ready but many Nigerians are ignorant and don't Care, soldiers now help them commit crimes, some of them even tell u there is nothing police or soldiers will do to them..

Nigerians wake uo
Are you saying that northern soldiers are not fighting Boko Haram?!!

Even though things have gone to shitz
Collectively we can turn things around
The hate has to end, the tribalism must be done away with and together we must forge a Most Glorious future

We must do this else all collectively continue to suffer under the hands of the collective few Enjoying the benefits of this Country

The Choice is ours, to have a Great Nation where all thrives or Allow the few so called elites and political office holders who really don't let tribalism get in the way of the common sharing formula

Our future and the future of our unborns rest on our decision

After research on the internet, specifically on nairaland on alternative power solutions, I sold my fuel generator and invested in the following:

(1) 100AH deep cycle mercury battery #55, 000 (from konga)

(1) 250 watts Mono crystalline Solar panel #40, 000 (from konga)

(1) Solar Charge controller #15,000 (from konga)

(1) Fairly Used 650VA Ups inverter #5,000 (from a computer center nearby)

Solar cables worth #15000

Total #130,000
This is what I have been using for the past 12months to power (1) startimes decoder and 32 inch led tv on power saving mode (2) 4, 9watts led bulbs (3) dc standing fan.
(4) my android phone and laptop always on full battery, I plan to double the set within next 2 months to be able to add other gadgets. cool
No solar panels? What's the use of the solar charge controller?

What are you guys paying for really?

Are paying for the sun?

I can personally setup a better solar system with as low as 100-150k to power my lights and TV for as long as I want. In fact, I recently helped a friend install one for around 150k which powers his 42" TV all day as long as there is sunlight and at least 4hrs at night. All things being equal, the setup should last for 18-24 months before any major upgrade.

How many hours can this MTN thing power a 32" TV for example?

By the way, I am not even a professional installer, just a DIYer.
150k using what kind of batteries??

Jakumo:
On the lower end of the budget scale, used drones capable of filming in 2.7K resolution, and flying at 18mph for up to 25 minutes, are now cheap, and could be bought by the local police, to carry around in patrol vehicles, and thus launch the drones from within 3 miles of the kidnap hotspots, thereby covering a vast area in a short time. Once the kidnappers have been spotted by the drone, ground units can then coordinate ambushes.
The country is currently run by people who want such attrocities to continue else this would have been a thing of the past

TravelRe: Should I Invest In Nigeria Or Wait Until I Get A Permanent Stay In Abroad? by Elmaaq: 6:32pm On Dec 13, 2020
Basalt:
Goodmorning Ladies and Gentlemen.
I am Basalt by name and I came to Germany last year(2019) October for my MSc studies with a little amount of Money and a partially borrowed block account from my inlaw (his money and my money).
On arrival in Germany, I took only a few courses and got a job outside my city and also got a mini-job. I did all my monthly expenses from my Mini job and used my main job to completely pay back my debt within a few months of arrival.

Now, that's not the discussion at hand.
I need advice especially from people who have lived abroad or have many years of experience in life.
My visa still counts till 2022 and I can even extend it if I don't finish my studies by then.
According to German policy, once you graduate from the University, you will be given 18 months to get a professional job or return back to your country.
Returning back to Nigeria is totally out of my plan at least for now because I came from a very poor family without any job connection and I am really enjoying Europe.
I plan to buy land or start building a house (I saved millions of naira and will even save more as time goes) but my friend who is also a student here discouraged me against that saying that my root is not yet fixed abroad that I should wait and continue investing in myself and undergoing professional training until I get permanent residency before investing. That I should always keep saving because it is not certain that I will get a professional job after graduation since my course is not in Information Technology which is currently booming in Germany. That even if I don't get a job, I can use the money to migrate to Canada or any other country of my choice.
He asked What if you invest the money now and don't get a job after graduation, what will you do after the 18 months of post graduation visa since you don't have any backup from home who will help you out financially.

What do you guys think. I need opinions
You can invest a fraction of what you have

If your story is true
I feel you need time off

Like a month or more
Since there's a business your wife runs no need to bother about how your family will fare without you

Remember you didn't divorce because of the children What happens to them if you commit suicide??

So with your time off you decide what you will do and how to handle the problem
Look at everything from every angle, good bad ugly, worse terrible
What you will do irrespective of reactions from anyone Then Return and start living

She was seated with her daughter who was dressed more casually with short dreads. She was dressed more simpler. Even her daughter refuse me to serve me and I have never even met them before.

She looked angry and I don’t know why.[/color]

Bride price in my place is 24 cowries. And because cowries are no longer in use, this was converted to 24 Naira. It is only demanded because it is customary. Female children are not meant to be 'sold for profit'. It demeans the marriage and the lady herself.

My place is different from yours, I know. My advice to you is accept 'your share' and move on, or ignore the entire money.
Really? Which state is this?
