Well it is usually connected to a phone line with some sort of receiver. This receiver record when one comes in the house and go out. So ideally, those who wear a tag are usually under a court curfew as part of the bail condition. The tag itself is just a rubber with a receiver of some kind built into it. It can be yanked off with a knife.

The police centre monitors them, and it may take a while for police to get down and check on him, if he absconded.

I think he may have got the approval pending the checks, and then suspended for what ever reasons. He appeared to have gone to court for it and on bail - He wore a tag.

It is rare for police to get involve in situation like this. He must have committed serious offence, hence the police interest. He is included in the top ten of those wanted in the UK, so his crime must be pretty grime.

Mental health care aint no joking matter here, and it can be very emotive. I just hoped he hasn't bleeped up a patient's life.

I think it takes time for GMC to process the verification etc. However, it should have been done before he was offered the job. Again, it may have been difficult to confirm his papers from respective organisation back home.

I just don't see the need to confuse my opponent, or audience with unnecessary words. My aim around here is to post in clear and concise manner. That way the points I am making are readily understood and helps with the flow of the debate.

If people see the need to prove themselves by posting big words, then they clearly ain't impressing the likes of me. I put more emphasis and importance as to what the person is saying and how effective their communication approach is, not by using big words. Meh! My two cents.

I am just at home watching BBC Crime watch - A programme that deals with crime story and shows wanted criminal. Guess what I saw next?. . . .A Nigerian man! [No surprise there]. He was due to attend Croydon Crown Court on 4 March 2009, having breached his bail conditions and tampered with his electronic tag but failed to turn up.

He is not believed to have any qualifications and could still be working in a hospital as a locum [doctor], despite being suspended by the General Medical Council.

His last known address was in Catford, South East London and he could still be living in the area.

He has access to several cars including SN02RYH Blue Freelander, P123TTM Blue Renault Clio, R827YCR White Leyland Box Van and LV06KND Beige Nissan Micra.

He has an extremely distinctive mole on his right upper lip (under his nose).

Oga. I noticed that shortly after I registered here. It is like Obama this, Obama that! The thing people forget is that after someone like President Bush, anyone with simple common sense could have won that election. I mean, it aint like he had a proper opponent to be honest. What ever credibility Joe Bidden may have had, his woman running mate made a mess of it.

Also this whole fashola thing is just stupid. I don't understand why people can't seem to see that he is doing what he is supposed to do. It is like people praising a teacher for teaching, erm he paid to exactly just that.

It is economics. It works out cheaper to buy in mass and produce these cars. Hence it is more expensive to actually fix them. That is one view.

Car manufacturers are more or less starting to "monopolise" their approach - i.e if you buy from them, they want you to come back for the after-services etc - hence why everything appears to be "computerised" and dealers/approved service centre can charge what they want. That is another view.

Then there is the issue of people just buying a car, without thought for the maintenance and running cost. Some cars are known to be cheaper than others to run/maintain. For example, it cost more to run a BMW X5, than to run a Kia's equivalent.
