So many people forget that as a President of Nigeria, you are sworn to an oath to protect the sovereignty of the country, of which you stand to be impeached if you don't. And if you are not impeached, trust me, that's an invitation for a coup Exactly my point. |

You did.and That's How to go about getting what we want in a way that nobody gets hurt. Follow the rule of law and make it work for you. |

Strictly speaking, only the government of the nation can organize a referendum. Unfortunately, even If Buhari wanted to organize a referendum, he couldn't. The constitution of the Federal Republic and the oath of office of the President makes sure that he can't.
If he attempted it, he could be impeached and jailed. |

[quote author=shallysgirl post=60844174] Well, you are wrong. Igbos are very tolerant.the fact that they live peacefully wherever they settle down says alot. Wrong. I'll rather give kudos to their hosts. See How they are being killed in the North and other African countries especially south Africa. As for the yoruba muslim thing, most muslims especially yorubas tend to ignore logic and support whatever any muslim leader does whether right or wrong even against their own tribe. Why is it so difficult for you guys to comprehend a simple point. There's nothing like Yoruba Moslems. Yoruba is Yoruba whether Christian or Moslem. There's hardly a family, nuclear or extended that doesn't have members practicing both religion. Your underhanded tactics of trying to divide Yorubas along religious line is despicable. Unarmed civilians were shot at by the national army and they laugh about it see nothing wrong with it because it was ordered by a muslim president or because Igbos and Christians were killed. Nigerians(igbos) were dehumanized and made to swim in murky waters like pigs and they all found it funny. Of course you are Igbo so you would see it that way. Show me your posts on this forum where you condemned the actions of Nnamdi Kanu when he was organizing his BSS, his own private army? Don't give me the story of Kanu insulted our yoruba leaders and pastors or our yoruba land. Kanu insulted Britain and Theresa May even the queen but I can't see them laughing over this matter or finding it funny. Go on YouTube and search for where Kanu was asking your brothers to pick up arms and kill any Yoruba or Hausa in sight. While you're at it, maybe you can also search for where he was soliciting for arms and ammunition to "burn down the zoo". Why don't you tell him that the Yorubas love him and would like to give him a chieftancy title for all the hatred and vile speech he's directed at them. I am not saying Kanu did right by throwing insults about but there are things we must stand against especially when it is done by the government. And the best way to stand against those things is to call for genocide? Go read about the Rwandan civil war. As for voting Buhari, I believe everyone has a right to vote whoever they choose. I had always been a strong supporter of Buhari even when people were spreading the news of this islamization story. I never believed even when it was confirmed to me, but I kept praying for revelation. This was after he lost to Yaradua. Fastforward,2011/12,Buhari paid a condolence visit to Mrs H. Awolowo,i was watching Channels TV and there he was being interviewed: Reporter:what do think about Bokoharam, how should they be handled? buhari:niger delta militants were given amnesty so same should be done for Boko. Me: At that time, the U.N building had come down, the police 'headquarters' was down,i can't remember if St Theresa had come down. buhari showed no sympathy or empathy,he was simply fighting for the right of these killers. There and then I knew that he wasn't the one. I Guess now that he is president he has given amnesty to boko haram. Guess who said boko haram members were his brothers and sisters... Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan. As for corruption, the present admin is the great grand master of corruption . Talk is cheap. Cite some examples. Otherwise you don't know what the hell you're talking about. |

Daboomb: You know, some people are called SIMPLETONS because they cant reason, think, infer or project beyond the SIMPLE THINGS OF LIFE (Eat, Drink, Play, Phuck and Sleep ).
A State Governor is not supposed to be a simpleton. He carries on his shoulder, the development, aspirations and progress of millions of indigenes.
If you think being aState Governor is about eating roasted plantain on the roadside, playing roadside table tennis, plating woman's heair on the roadside, eating Ponmo or beans on the roadside, then you are a simpleton!
Because all the above cannot transform the economy of his state from a rural one, to a modern, prosperous one!. It cannot generate IGR needed for further development!!. It cannot attract investment to a State!!!
Today, Kano state Governor signed a deal with the Chinese, to install one of the largest Textile Plant in Africa, to provide jobs, IGR and growth for his people. That is a Giovernor, already thinking about when and if allocation from Abuja will stop or price of Crude oil will crash.
Fashola did not spend all day eating roasted plantain on the roadside, for Lagos to be what it is. Go to Ogun state and see what they are doing, the transformation of the capital's infratsructure and you will understand that a Governor is different from a Ward Counsellor!
Right now, Ekiti state ranks amongst the poorest among all States of the federation and definitely the poorest amongst South West States, even poorer than poor Osun state!. Just imagine, for a state that boasts of the highest number of highly educated people!
Fayose has taken Ekiti state back to what we call a 'Hobesian State'. All those Ediots watching and laughing while their Governor wastes-away their life, are supposed to be at work, trading or farming but just see them shinning their teeth on poverty!
SIMPLETONS, all of you and your Governor Fayose! The world has since moved-on. Thank you for this. If only the Nigerian youths can be perceptive like this. But I Guess hunger has reformatted their brain cells. I can't just imagine this man, Fayose as even a Ward councillor, not to talk of presidency. This thing boggles the mind, I tell you. Can't wrap my head around this. |

shallysgirl: Rubbish! I have never heard or seen Igbos discriminate against anyone even based on religion. Practice your religion but don't use is to disturb anyone. Don't bring religion into public and social life, that's my own. Eg sending people on pilgrimage, for what. Christians generally don't bother anyone that is why people think they are docile. I'm Sorry, But Igbos aren't exactly tolerant of others, especially If they are Yoruba or Moslem. That's why you have little kids running around here shouting "Yoruba Moslem ". That's why the majority of you in the east refused to vote for Buhari, But would rather allow the grandmaster of corruption and Nigeria's only Ineffectual Buffoon to continue ruling us. So Yes, Igbos are very very discriminatory. |

A garage tout who was lucky to be in the right political party and the right country. It's only in Nigeria that he could ever be elected in the first place and after having failed woefully as governor for two terms, still being campaigned for for presidency by hapless youths like you whose destiny has been mortgaged by idiots like him. What a pity. I don't see any element of greatness in the average Nigerian youth. In saner climes, this man would be cooling his heels in jail. I mean, where else does a governor order his boys to beat up a judge who is presiding in his court? You guys are simply irredeemably pathetic. It's an insult to Nigerians that this crazy fellow is talking about running for presidency. But Guess what, millions of Nigerian youths especially from the east are in support of this miscreant turned governor. Simply Because he is the enemy of their enemy. What a pity! |
