You're the shallow-minded one. Oga, if odegbami was really good, European scouts for look him side. He was only good enough for Naija league.

Okay, why didn't his generation qualify for a single WC tournament. I see that you stylishly avoided this. He couldn't qualify for a single WC yet his generation is quick to play down the hard work of Rohr and his boys

Look, Mr Man, I'm all for constructive criticism but not downright hatred and malign of character. This is what Segun is doing.
See who I'm talking football with for Christ sake.

How many spots were given to African teams back then?

This is a classy representation of mental slavery. Everything Western has got to be better, ours only qualifies to be mediocre.Do you have any idea how much the local league was appreciated then?

Odegbami played as a winger and he still holds the second highest goal scorer of all time in the NT. Scored 2 goals in the 1980 nation's cup final to hand is our first title and you are underating the man?

If he's overhyped, reel out names of his contemporaries who made it to Europe and never got the hype Segun has been getting.

lemme remind
Salisu Yusuf the head coach of Nigeria collect the sum of 5million naira per month
N.B he is not paying any assistant
5million naira is his take home salary yet he was caught on camera collecting bribe
2 late coach Stephen keshi was paid 5 million monthly yet there are bunches of accusation leveled against him

gernot rohr took Nigeria to world and Africa cup of nations at the time
can Stephen qualify from group stage with teams like zambia cameroun and algeria
remember in the last Africa cup of nation qualifier it was Congo that deafeated Nigeria
this man has tried and it unfair for someone to wake up one day and undermine what he has done
Oh! So you think Keshi's achievements were fluke? You are oblivious of how he was frustrated during his tenure that made us unable to qualify for the following nation's cup.

You're mentioning 5 million Naira as if it's a big amount, why can't the NFF pay a local coach $50,000, let's see how they'd perform?

Keshi wasn't perfect, he had his faults, I was against his selections too, but that man equaled Westerhoff's record, something Rohr is yet to do.

And till today, he's to take bulk of the blame for our loss against Argentina at the last WC.

Did Odegbami qualify or even feature in a single WC?

How many individual Laurels (as a player) did he win?

The man remains a village champion whose credentials barely exceeds the Nigerian football scene not to talk of Africa.

Mathematical my foot!!!
Whether you like it or not, he was the best out his peers during his era.

He still holds the record for the 2nd most goals scored for the NT. For about 3 decades, who has been able to topple him over?

With him, we won our first AFCON

I choose not to say "shut up " to this annoying statement
he want the local coaches to be respected plz what have they done to be respected
you want others to be respected doesn't mean you should disrespect others
odegbami is just beefing this nigga for no reason
what has rohr done wrong
he made a stupid statement in his interview
who love Nigeria more, a nigerian or an Europeanhuh
A Nigerian (Sunday oliseh) resigned after few month due to clashes in personality with the NFF
despite the bullshit NFF and stupid ex international has said he kept doing his works with all diligence and humility
so please research before you come here and start splitting shit
kojubelo
Well, I choose to say; go screw yourself. How many local coaches would the NFF be willing to pay $50,000 monthly?

Tell me pls, what has Rohr done that Keshi didn't do? He's not even achieved anything spectacular with the team and we are quick to sing his praises. Amodu Shuaibu got us to qualify for 2 WCs, lead us to the bronze at Afcon.

Senegal took a local coach to the last WC, Nigeria took a foreigner as their coach, Senegal, by far, did better than we ever could.

We are Afrians and we are inclined to worship the white man because of our messed up mentality.

Some Nigerian science researchers have found what they believe is the cure for Covid-19, the FG is not interested in looking into it just because it doesn't come in syrup and tablets from the West.

Very overhyped legend.

Village champion. Only thing he can stake his name to is AFCON glory. His mated were playing in top European teams yet he was like a one-eyed king in the land of the blind.

Even Wikipedia no get him stats. Very overrated player
Did you ever watch him play to determine if he is overhyped?

He made some very strong point, but we are forever willing to villianize his character and disregard everything he says.

We need to treat our local coaches with respect as compared to their foreign counterparts.

On behalf of the OP and everyone else who had made this thread a success, thanks for the compliments.

Sorry about your job hunting experience. There are fewer job openings than there are graduates.

Sorry about your loss of your laptop. If you know my story... well, that is a story for another day...

You can succeed without gig videos, I don't have gig videos, just pictures. You can get royalty free pictures at pexels and pixabay, I can also help with rudimentary picture editing. I only remember that I don't have gig videos any week without orders. But before I can get around to write the script for the video, an order or two or three come in, and I shelve the thought until the next lull.

If you want original pictures, you might have to hire a designer, they don't come cheap except those business center guys, I would have recommended a certain guy whose moniker begins with De and ends in kM! To be sure we are on the same page, you need help with original pictures and videos?

Send me your profile so I can study and comment.

I still don't think we've gotten it right with our midfield. I know you want to point out the depth we have in that area, but wait a minute.

Their style of play are similar, we've got Ndidi, Onazi, Agu and Agbo (only that he's a bit more disciplined when asked to shield the defense, otherwise he's just another tackling machine) Etebo is a workaholic like the rest, we won't miss him if he fails to make the final 23 to the WC, and I'm not really excited about his recent performance in Spain. It's really funny how Rohr expects his Midfield to blend when he takes out Mikel to bring in an Agu who's a destroyer to partner with other midfielders like Ndidi and Onazi.

The only different midfielders we currently have in the team are Mikel & Ogu. I'm simply not satisfied with the Midfield selection

I know I might sound stupid to most of you here, but I'm willing to take the chance, better be foolish now than later.

Super eagles sports fans, i am here to report to the house the childish and irresponsible behaviour of one of your own TheGoodJoe or Cityjoe. I have been his fan on this thread till he dabbled into some threads in the political section. His posts portrayed him as a full blown tribalist.
Anybody that knows TheGoodJoe should warned him to refrain from posting tribal comments on the political thread otherwise this once peaceful thread will become a theatre of war.
I've been a follower of this thread for a while now, although started posting comments today.

Joe is a grown ass man, he can do whatever the hell he wants, any where he wants online, we're not his parents. Just so that when he comes into this thread he takes off whatever cloak he puts on in other threads, we're cool.

My people, I think we are starting to put to much pressure on our team, we have not played up to 20 games under gernot, we are not yet there as a team, but the signs are so positive so far.
Risk taking is something Iv noticed a lot of Nigerians dread, my brothers inspire confidence in uzoho , alampasu, Ajiboye and nwokolor and they will perform wonders in the World Cup. Experience is grossly overrated with few Peeps here. Experience or just talent dosent run football anymore instead determination and team work does. why can't we just trust our young players more? Besides let's not get carried away and know we are on a rebuilding process. Placing semi final as a target is just so unrealistic, we are good but not there yet.
On enyeama
He's seems like a drama queen he needs to put the needs of his country first, he's not playing for nnf he's playing for we Nigerians who bless and pray for him for the joy he has brought us, besides what has he gone through that komenk so likes pointing out that OBI mikel has not with the federation? but it's the love and passion that matters. which I feel vincent has lost. whatever his decision I'm not worried a bit.
For a team to be successful in any competition player power cannot be tolerated. He might feel entitled to have privileges maybe coz of what he has done for Nigeria in the past, but he has to behave more like a professional and not blow up at everything the NNF did to him.
He didn't blow up when he was discarded by bielsa, so If he can treat a team coach with respect he had to show that kinda respect for the national team. forget Europe the SE made enyeama the player he is today. Don't want to judge since nothing is certain.
Sincerely I don't feel we desperately need enyeama, guys need to wake up and see that this is 21century football, young players have no respect atall, all of em are hungry and want to be the best, you think the Milan 18 year old keeper would not have started manning the post for us for about two years if he were to be Nigerian. At age 16 so why can't uzoho and co. Do it.
Our year is 2022.
I'm glad we all saw the end of the year with success. You peeps here are amazing. And this is the thread with the most matured, humble and a bit myopic people on nairaland.
Big new year of joy ahead!
Putting pressure on the team bi ti bawo? I'm lost. Does the coaching crew come here to validate their decisions as regard the team? Or does everyone on this thread have direct link to the NFF and the coaches?
