Wickedfacts: When the Amotekun guys start, let us see if SW Governors would keep buying Hilux for the Police. That's the job of the FG and if they like, they should keep underfunding the Police. SW Governors would equip Amotekun properly. Funny thing is the Amotekun will become a menace too like SARS. This country tire me. |

Igbosmoker: Messi bad season
23 goals (2pks), 16 assists in 28 matches.
Ronaldo exceptional season
25 goals,(7 pks), 2 assists in 30 matches You people talk a lot of nonsense. No one is saying Ronaldo is having a special season except in your dream. Ronaldo at his peak vs Messi at his peak was when the rivalry made sense. Both decided matches single handedly then. Ronaldo has since lost his athleticism and pace which made him the second best dribbler in the world. Comparing a 35 year Olds season, playing in a new league to a 32 year old playing in a much better Barca side just shows how desperate you Messi Fans can be. |

Everyone would definitely miss his roots. You can't just travel as a fully grown adult and forget your home, friends completely. It's easy to love Nigeria from abroad. Tell these people to come back home permanently, most of them can't. |

Kenn55: You got it wrong in your last paragraph. Nigeria is called a shithole not just because of its physical infrastructural deficit but because of the mentality of the people and you just confirmed it. What wrong has the Nigerian poor and disadvantage done? So one is supposed get his own infrastructure and service before he /she can enjoy a lovely Nigeria and that sounds good to you? How many heads do the poor Americans, Europeans etc that enjoy 24/7 light, hot and cold shower running in their homes and clean environment have? I don't think there is any country in the world where the number of rich citizens are greater than the poor citizens, it is always the reverse. However, the beauty and livability of any country is measured by how the poor and disadvantaged in the society are treated and efforts implemented to make their lives comfortable.
The poor may not have the cars, big houses etc but at least they should also live a life of dignity. They shouldn't be carrying jerry cans and wheelbarrows fetching water from street to street, they shouldn't be sleeping in darkness because they do not have solar systems etc
Nigeria has been turned to OYO society and believe me this OYO system is what has made the country a dog eat dog society where everyone is in a mad desperation to make money committing all sorts of crime. I can't imagine how someone would use a fellow human being for money rituals. This is because that this the only way to guarantee their personal comfort like you said since the collective comfort is non existent. Any country that is built this way would remain a shithole. It just tells you these people learn nothing from their sojourn abroad, of all they can suggest as solution is making borehole etc. How many people even make enough to build their houses not to talk of borehole. |

I really wish many of this lazy entitled people insulting the country also get the chance to actually travel and see for themselves It is insensitive to claim there isn't a lack of opportunities in Nigeria This is incredibly wicked to say. |

sowilli: mindset is all that matters. Thing is many of the middle and lower class are always looking for low hanging fruits. They are the ones who are always looking for the sharp way. I tell you from experience. Who were the main victims of MMM people blamed it on poverty but did MMM not try to venture is other poor countries. What was the outcome in Kenya and some I can’t remember. You have a point that it is easier for the elites. I agree with you. But I have heard stories and worked for men that were nobody and became millionaires. It’s all about the mind. There are many abroad who are still hopeless and haven’t figured out what they want. I get your point, but no one can deny barriers to success an average low class youth faces unless you aren't being realistic. Many of those millionaires who rose from nobodies grew up in the old era, where nobodies easily rose from the scratch in Nigeria; my dad is a case study. But nowadays, it's so hard to even get a job not to talk of ascending to lofty heights. Of course, super intelligent people will always have their way in a chaotic society, but how many are? It's definitely possible to make it in Nigeria but don't just paint it like it's easy to just wake up and attain a comfortable life. It's far easier abroad. Look at this, the so called yahoo boys do all sorts of crime just to attain a lifestyle, even minimum wage workers can attain in America. That's enough to tell you both societies are miles apart. |

sowilli: you are saying this because you don’t have money simple. How much is 30 million? Will you tell Dangote about peace. Dangote too much self. I have worked for billionaires and even guys that don’t have billions self. They are living life. Will you tell Davido that Nigeria is shit hole. Dude is making his money. Same with million others. Again, Na person wey no get money dey rant about naija. If you get money you go no say naija Na people and people Na naija. Same with other nations. It’s all people. Find you niche bro and don’t have any regrets about some set of people! You forget that most of these elites had a rosy start to life. What are the chances of a regular middle or low class born attaining these heights in this present Nigeria? It's slimmer! That's not to say wealth can't be made in Nigeria though. There are definitely less certainties in Nigeria, else how can you explain most people who migrated abroad legally having the funds in a few years to build quite substantial houses and business in Nigeria? It's definitely harder to succeed in a country that doesn't encourage meritocracy. |
Fashion › Re: Foreign Second Hand Clothes Or New Nigerian Made Clothes. Which Do You Prefer? by Elxandre(m): 2:29pm On Feb 21, 2020 |
These clothes aren't even naija made but China. Nigerians can't even dream of being able to afford new American or European clothes for now. The cheapest you can get a hoodie for instance is like $40. Not even many well paid Nigerians can afford that. There are Chinese clothes with higher quality but it comes at a higher price. All in all, both have their places. In an economy like Nigeria, a real middle class Fashionista can't do without Foreign used. Is it the tacky China jeans in the market you want to wear? Infact, quality 'stock' jeans can't cost less than 10k brand new. How many can you afford with the small salaries in Nigeria? |
Fashion › Re: Foreign Second Hand Clothes Or New Nigerian Made Clothes. Which Do You Prefer? by Elxandre(m): 2:23pm On Feb 21, 2020 |
vezycash: Saying WHITES in this case obscures how it actually happened.
UK was the first mass producer of clothes because they invented the automatic loom. And then the sewing machine.
UK banned exporting of these machines.
At the time, every wife made the clothes for the family. That's where KNITTING came from.
US and virtually every other country imported clothes from UK until one guy with phographic memory (Samuel Slater) went to UK, memorized the diagram of the loom, and smuggled the loom in pieces - separate shipments - hidden within other objects.
And that's how UK dominance in clothes crumbled.
Now Americans no longer manufactures clothes. It's all imported clothes from China.
Our super-low value naira is what's keeping most of us from buying new clothes directly from China.
see: https://firstindustrialrevolution.weebly.com/the-textile-industry.html Interesting. I should point out though, that most of the new clothes in Naija are imported from China. Often with low quality. |

BBC awarded him best player in Africa but the Issa Ayatou led Caf gave it to Mustapha Hadji. In 2004, okocha led Bolton, a bottom club to their best ever position in EPL 8th, took them to the finals of EFL cup, he won the mvp and joint top scorer in Tunisia 2004 but Caf had to deny him once again and awarded it to Eto'o whom Okocha single handedly oust at the nation's cup Q/finals, didn't win anything in 2004 but newly joined Barca.
