Football doesn’t work like that

Because a team fail to win the next afcon then you should chase all the players away

Make una Dey cool down at times ,other teams self ni come sell garri

Maybe England should stop calling all the players that took part in the last euros because they failed to win the tournament,or the Spanish team should drop all their players because they couldn’t win the euros

Make una Dey watch Wetin Dey commot for una mouth at times
Na u no cool down reason my statement...dis is a supposed team with lot of promises playing together for d past 7years wout any tangible achievement to show for...abi no b una dey tag dem "best team" in Africa..so y continue with d so called best set of players wout anything to show 4

You see how Denmark played at the Euros? The spirit and Pasśion displayed? That's how I want the Super Eagles to play at the next AFCON. As a unit. No notable stars. Everybody knows his role, no one will be too big for the team. Everybody cover for each other and stick with the game plan and objectives.
Anything short of lifting d next years afcon to me is a total comprehensive failure, not only do we sack d coach,we would also disband dis present set of players we parade as a team

just went through his profile, looks very good plus low cost as he has worked with poor countries for most of his career so lack of funds or not being paid promptly won’t be an issue
I av recommended d man earlier..his last exploit with d Gambians shows he is someone with a working template and he's a low budget coach we can afford same with DT 2019 Madagascar coach cool

Pedri again showed yesterday why the midfield is so important to a team. When the going gets tough in the final third for your Strikers and wingers, it is the midfield that steps up.
Brains over brawns has always been my stance in the middle game. A mix of it gives you the best tactical balance always but having much more brains mixed with decent workrate/brawn will almost always give you the edge.

We don't boast elite Midfielders across Europe. Ndidi is the only lad in our current team who comes close to an elite Midfielder.

So anyone hoping for a sprout of 7-8 top MFs out of nowhere is deluding himself/herself.
We would not get the MFs we need if we keep ignoring the ones we have all because they are in Belgium, Norway, or maybe Sweden or in the second tiers of some of the top 5 leagues in the world.

We have to reinforce with what we have because the ones you lust after like Olise don't even want you. Lol

The Afcon taught us lessons (some of which have been taught before but ignored as usual) and we saw some MFs of Lower tier teams bossing it over MFs of top tier teams. We saw that talent is not limited to just playing in the top 5 leagues or for the top half sides in the top 5 leagues.

Examples are Dango Ouattara of Lorient (Ligue 1) and Burkina Faso, Gustavo Sangare of QR Metropole (Ligue 2) and B/Faso, Pablo Ganet of Real Murcia (La Liga 2) & Eq.Guinea, Jose Machin of Monza (Serie B) & Equatorial Guinea just to mention a few standout unknowns.

We have a huge midfield problem in terms of deeplying creativity, playmaking and conduction and whether we like it or not, only a few midfielders with the matching skillsets can address that deficiency in the middle.
We have to stop kidding ourselves. We have more of Workrate merchants and brawn-over-brains Midfield players.

If we are serious, then we will address this midfield imbalance that has bedevilled us for far too long since Mikel's powers waned before he finally left the GWG scene.
Give us suggestions(midfielders).. Give us names both local.and international players.. smiley

Amunike's impact was clearly seen in the 2013 team. And 2 yrs later we saw him handle the team WITHOUT Manu, and with new talents and we still triumphed.

Manu went solo without Amunike in 2019 and failed.

So EA under Manu is sooo unlike what we saw with him under Eguavoen. Amunike will not pick the same 442/424-like setup we executed in Kumasi with only boring long balls and wingplays as the strategy. That was still Eguavoen. So don't act blind.

And you asked for why Amunike should be in the discussion. I gave you beyond a mouthful. Mentioning he should have beaten Kenya is funny because Tanzania isn't better than Kenya talents wise. Even by Ratings, Kenya clearly trumped Tanzania then (and still trumps now) in the world game.
Both are possibly at par or Tanzania just slightly inferior team-quality wise so it was a 50-50 game or 55-45 game. You cannot use that to write off what Amu achieved with a clearly talentless Tanzanian team.
All I knw is amunike won't be employed ,at least for now... I am sure dey re looking at a foreigner, dts certain

Brilliant. We simply don't have an organised way to attack. This was not emphasized enough on this thread after the painful AFCON exit. All we heard was Okoye dis, Okoye that.

Teams practise how to get the ball from their goalkeeper to the opponent's net. Teams practice how to score from set-pieces; how players are to be placed, the different angles the player could play into, the movement after the freekick is taken, but our team lacked all of this. I wonder what they do in training....... na to they jog on the field and crack jokes during the training, na im they know pass.

NFF should please get a team of committed home-based players that will play together more, learn basics of the modern game, learn how to string accurate passes together, learn how to shoot balls from outside the box. We should have a sound home- based team.
What really baffles me most about dis our foreign players is d inability to hold d ball for more dan 2/3minutes wout losing it to d opponent, forget abt d formation deployed, dis guys are professional fgs, and I av been noticing dis trend since d reigns of rohr...what's so special in maintaining possession for just 2/3minutes wout losing it. I can't just phantom it and it seems nobody is looking at it from dt angle..even wout a coach or training.. A group of professional footballers shld b able to hold possession for at least 2mins cos dis re football basics...

If dis is d best we can get from foreign/professional players, den it doesn't worth it..let's kukuma face our home base players, open periodical camps with d invited local players and harness deir talents well, maybe it will pay off cos me I no just understand dis katikati way our so called professional footballers dey play, wey dem no fit string like 5 successful passes wout losing it. Its an eyesore
